When the comforts of civilization begin to dull our senses, we must never forget that in the beginning, there was war. And war. And more war. Long before there were empires, there were humans consumed with greed and the hunger for power. Resources, territories, information—these were the forms of sustenance upon which we preyed. Today, we call such habits vices. Oh, how arrogant we have become! Are we not still impelled by those primordial emotions? Is the advent of war so far-fetched? But alas, for you to truly understand, we must dive deeper into this land’s half-forgotten past.
There was a time when might was the only law that humankind knew. Fearsome clans roamed throughout the land, seeking amenable grounds within which they could take root and opposing forces against whom they could test their mettle. Given the irregularity of nature’s bounty, certain regions appealed more than others, and dominion over such coveted territories became the spark that ignited the earliest inter-clan wars. These fierce, internecine affairs tended to conclude only when one side had decimated their competition into oblivion, and many clans of story were rendered extinct during this period.
The victors of war, having claimed their territories, often made truces with surrounding locals, offering protection in exchange for access to the yields of agriculture. Over time, certain communities emerged as more dominant than others, either due to numbers or sheer talent, and their rapid expansion would force smaller, neighboring communities to either collapse into their fold or be devastated. When the dust settled, humankind found itself divided into the five major territories that we are familiar with today. And was the bloodshed over? With our lands obtained and our bellies filled, were we finally content?
06/01/2023 June is for Juggin
We made it y’all, another month of OTA, and fresh off the press we have another promotion ready. Leaving behind the opening bonus sadly, we welcome the jugggggg! June is for juggin AKA working hard, so we are making it a double rewards month for every mission completed! Yes we said it's double rewards, now you all can really get into the thick of those builds if you work hard enough. And who knows what you might uncover in the process. AND all jobs are free to enroll no quest EXCEPT ANBU(Black Ops) roles.
Here on OTA we believe that becoming a Jinchūriki should not only serve as a power up, but more so a plot device for players to augment their character's plot. Therefore, the most important part about being a Jinchūriki here on OTA will be the bond formed with their bijū.
We have created a system that will allow you to progressively grow with your respective tailed-beast, one that requires the Jinchūriki to keep track of their interactions via Character Profile.
We all know that relationships don't form over night, and not every relationship develops the same as the next. With that in mind, here are some clarifications on what is expected from our Jin.
Note: All RP threads such as Events, RE's, even RP with other players are include in your biju progression. Please be sure to keep track of all your links. Because you will need them in order to reach your next level. Threads that count towards your biju progression will be approved by a mod before it's added to your list. Happy Biju chitz lol.
Here's a example of how to include a Biju in your character profile
Bijū Name -
Date/Type of Sealing: -
Bijū Personality:- You get this from their thread!
Inheritance All the things you gain from the beast (i.e - Yonbi Host would display the Lava Release and any technique that are only usable through the being the Yonbi’s host.)
Relationship Status: (Current Host Form) In order to increase your relationship status with your Biju, you have to keep track of your thread count, and communicate with staff about progression. Your growth as a Jinchuriki is based upon the amount you role play, as well as your ability to progress your unique plot with your Biju.
Cloak Moments: Here you should place the number of times you've used your Bijū Cloak, Staff will be able to randomly trigger cloak mode for players during their dormant state IF their life is at risk. Once their relationship has progressed far enough they won't need staff UNLESS It's required to.
NOTE: BIJU HOST ISN"T PICKED UP AT CHARACTER CREATION!
Inheritance
Within every bijū thread there will be a list of things that are passively gained through becoming a tailed-beast's host. If the ability isn’t listed in the thread it doesn't exist and must be created and/or purchased from the experience shop.
Relationship Definition
Your Relationship Status (see above) is the most important thing to keep track of because it defines your capabilities as a tailed-beast's host. Jinchūriki will have four stages that define their current status, each one requiring it’s own body of work and benefits. They are:
Dormant Host
As a dormant host, Jinchūriki are mostly unaware that they have the bijū at all unless someone tells them lol, and they have no way to communicate with it. The only thing they gain from hosting the bijū at this point is the inheritance and extra chakra supply
Educated Host
Becoming an "Educated Host" requires at least 25 threads with your respective character, and within the 25th threads you may communicate with the bijū through entering a subconscious realm where only you and the beast exist. These worlds are set up as the hosts envision, the only constant being their biju are locked up behind a seal.
At this level a host is able to communicate with the beast through telepathy (provided the beast personality is willing to cooperate). The user is also able to activate a diminished version of their bijū cloak that increases all basic stats by x2 (i.e speed, strength, defense, and healing).
if they lose control or stay in their Biju cloak for more than 10 turn they automatically advanced to Form 2. If they allow themselves to ascend, the Jinchūriki has no control of themselves and will relinquish control to a GM/Storyteller. From this point the character has 6 turns of Form 2. If they’re somehow stopped during this period they can be reverted back to their human form, if not they will become a full fledged tailed beast.
Enlightened Host
Becoming an "Enlightened Host" requires 50 threads with your respective character, and on that 50th thread you’re able to now tap into special abilities of your bijū. At this point the relationship between biju & host should really be starting to come together and they should be in pretty good standing.
The powers are still unstable, but they are now able to fully tap into the First Form of the bijū cloak. At this level they can sustain the cloak for up to 15 turns. Additional, they're now capable of accessing the Second Form of the cloak within that time span which allows them their own unique capabilities along with a few base ones. The user also will no longer lose control of themselves if they exceed their turn capacity!
Perfect Host
Achieving the power to become a Perfect Host requires two things:
1. Complete 100 role play threads with your respective bijū, 2. Complete a quest for the ability to become perfect host!
This quest usually entails a fight between the current Jinchūriki and their bijū. It is not required that the Jinchūriki actually beats their bijū as this is an exercise to prove their worth to their ally. They have to be convinced that you are capable of controlling their power. But of course, you can die during this exercise.
Once both requirements are met, the Jinchūriki will have finally reached the pinnacle of synchronizing with the beast within. They are able to control their cloak forms for unlimited turns AS long as they have the chakra for it, Also the Jinchuuriki is capable of utilizing the Biju chakra to disrupt their chakra flow in order to end the effects of Genjutsu, regardless of rank. The Jinchuuriki is also capable of faintly feeling the presence of other chakra signature within a fifty meter radius; this allows the user to recognize when they are, or are not, alone. This does not allow them to “track” the signature, however; they’re simply aware that it’s there, and have a rough idea of where it’s coming from.
NOTE: Each Biju will have their own unique version of perks with a perfect host!
F.A.Q
Is it instant? It’s near – instant
How strong is the cloaks defense? They’re pretty durable against most techniques when role played properly. They require S-rank piercing power to rip through the cloak. The cloak isn’t the ultimate defense though; you won't be tanking everything with ease.
Can I put them under Genjutsu? Hell yeah, but of course they’re able to break out of it rather easily with the proper control.
Killing a Jinchūriki Of course everyone imagines the day that they can slay a Jin lol, but this comes with some consequences. In the event a Jinchūriki is on the brink of death, the seal that keeps their bijū sealed away will be released and the beast will erupt at full form creating an instant event.
Note! if it is certain the Jinchuriki will die they will be cloaked by a dark aura. Once this happens they pretty much untouchable for 5 turns! While this happens people are allowed to escape or join the thread.
A GM/Storyteller will assume control and the beast will rage until it is stopped.
