When the comforts of civilization begin to dull our senses, we must never forget that in the beginning, there was war. And war. And more war. Long before there were empires, there were humans consumed with greed and the hunger for power. Resources, territories, information—these were the forms of sustenance upon which we preyed. Today, we call such habits vices. Oh, how arrogant we have become! Are we not still impelled by those primordial emotions? Is the advent of war so far-fetched? But alas, for you to truly understand, we must dive deeper into this land’s half-forgotten past.
There was a time when might was the only law that humankind knew. Fearsome clans roamed throughout the land, seeking amenable grounds within which they could take root and opposing forces against whom they could test their mettle. Given the irregularity of nature’s bounty, certain regions appealed more than others, and dominion over such coveted territories became the spark that ignited the earliest inter-clan wars. These fierce, internecine affairs tended to conclude only when one side had decimated their competition into oblivion, and many clans of story were rendered extinct during this period.
The victors of war, having claimed their territories, often made truces with surrounding locals, offering protection in exchange for access to the yields of agriculture. Over time, certain communities emerged as more dominant than others, either due to numbers or sheer talent, and their rapid expansion would force smaller, neighboring communities to either collapse into their fold or be devastated. When the dust settled, humankind found itself divided into the five major territories that we are familiar with today. And was the bloodshed over? With our lands obtained and our bellies filled, were we finally content?

DESCRIPTION At 6’1”, Yuurei stands as a tall and lanky figure – like a scarecrow that’s been put out to pasture and forgotten. His black hair is long, and is typically worn in an informal bun to avoid it getting in the way of his day-to-day. His eyes, uncommon for someone of his Nara heritage, are a bright, yet also relatively golden yellow – something which had been passed down to him from his mother’s side. Though he isn’t emaciated by any means, if he doesn’t spend enough time in the sun he ends up looking pale and sickly, and is no stranger to dark circles beneath his eyes from a lack of sleep. When not covered (which is a rare occurrence in itself due to the sheer amount of hair the man has), a small light blue Nara clan tattoo, about 2 inches in size, is visible at the nape of his neck. If you were to look closely, you'd notice faint burn scars on his hands from making and handling noxious tinctures.
His clothing of choice is typically a combination of practical shinobi attire (Think Flak jacket and protective armour) and carefully curated casual pieces. More often than not, this includes a leather jacket often very loudly coloured and badge-covered, with these ranging from decorative motifs to logos belonging to niche bands that you likely haven’t heard of. Perhaps a consequence of his own tall and thin stature, much of his clothing is slightly loose – never ill-fitting, but always not quite right. You're not sure how, but he just looks like he must smell good.
Born in Konohakure no Sato, Yuurei, descended from a proud family of Nara clan members on his father’s side, Though very much in love, his parents managed only to conceive one child during their marriage. Whilst sad for the couple, it inevitably fell in the boy’s favour as it automatically put him on a pedestal in the family and was encouraged to excel at the craft of his clan, and the herbalist arts that his mother had perfected. Through coddling, praising and very knowingly raising a brat, Yuurei’s every need was met as he aged, though he only grew cold and distant to any familial warmth given with each passing year. From academy student, to genin and through to chuunin, his talents excelled, but so did his detachment from others. The sudden death of his mother in his mid twenties both devestated the family and awoke something in Yuurei that had previously been simply bubbling at the surface during his youth.

Noroi-i (Medicine Man) The Nara clan is known for their intelligence and the members of this clan are noticeably skilled in the field of medicine, having passed down knowledge of medicine preparations and effects for generations.
Known for their capabilities, they have gained rapport with shopkeepers around the world and can purchase Herbalist supplies at a 50% discount. However, the sale back rate for any item purchased with this discount will always be 50% less than what they purchased their item(s) for.
Nara clan members may also join the Herbalist profession without undergoing the mandatory quest.
After reaching a certain stage in their training, all the hard-work and skill the Nara clansmen has put into perfecting their craft has paid-off. This has allowed them a better understanding of molding their chakra when creating shadows. Because of this, the user has doubled the duration of kage mane at all ranks.
SILHOUETTE EXTENSION A clansmen’s ‘Shadow Imitation’ is their supreme weapon when in combat. Through a raw talent and innate understanding of their hijutsu and normal shadows, the clansmen has now further mastered their control over their own shadow, and the shadow others. The user significantly increases their range to triple Kagemane no Jutsu's original range, thus extending all their hijutsu to Far (10m+), with their maximum range being thirty meters.
Kagemane no Jutsu (Shadow Imitation Technique) Rank: C [200 EXP - 160 EXP at time of purchase due to Level 2 Intelligence stat] Range: Close (0m ~ 5m), Mid (5m ~ 10m) Type: Supplementary Handseals: 2 Chakra Consumption: Mid per target Kage Mane no Jutsu is a Ninjutsu technique developed by the Nara clan. Its original purpose was as a skill to help delay any pursuers. After forming the needed hand seals, the clan member is able to manipulate their shadow along any surface. By using other nearby shadows they can further extend the reach of their shadow; however, they are limited to the surface area of the original cast shadow. Once the clan member's shadow reaches the target shadow, it will attach itself. While attached, the target will be frozen, only able to replicate in mirror form the actions of the clan member. If the clan member is low on chakra, the Kage Mane will falter and the shadow will return to its normal form. Note: The duration of Kage Mane depends on the Ninja's rank. Basically, this technique takes the user's own shadow and transforms and stretches it into countless thin tentacles, which are then used to grab objects and pull them in. Also, one can skillfully make use of the tentacle-shaped shadow tendrils by using them to lift up and throw weapons like kunai and such. It is accurate enough to even make the tentacles go through tiny holes. Note: The user must remain still while using this technique. A maximum of five tendrils can be created per cast. Kagemane Shuriken no Jutsu (Shadow Imitation Shuriken Technique) Rank: B [300 EXP - 260 EXP at time of purchase due to Level 2 Intelligence stat] Range: Close (0m ~ 5m), Mid (5m ~ 10m) Type: Supplementary Handseals: 3 Chakra Consumption: Mid per projectile Kage Mane Shuriken no Jutsu is a Ninjutsu technique developed by the Nara clan. They can then attack several targets simultaneously and at the same time snatch away their ability to move by sewing them stuck with the shadow threads. Because it is a physical attack, it is impossible to capture someone without harming them, but on the other hand, since the speed of invocation and the time of duration are excellent, it can be used when urgent restraint is required.

This technique can be overpowered by a drastic release of chakra, such as the Gates or a Bijuu. User must know Kagemane no Jutsu.
Kuro Higanbana (Black Spider Lily) Rank: B [300 EXP - 260 EXP due to Level 2 Intelligence stat] Range: Close (0m ~ 5m), Mid (5m ~ 10m), Far (10m+) Type: Supplementary Handseals: 4, 4 Chakra Consumption: Mid x2, Mid x2 (per target) Once the necessary hand seals are performed the user's shadow extends outwards in different directions trapping any enemy or object that comes into contact with it. Then at the user's discretion the shadows pull in their quarry in back towards the user. Kuro Higanbana will continue to pull targets in until all targets are clustered together in a pile. At no extra cost, the user may at any point during this jutsu pause the inward pull or perform another four handseals and simply place their hand upon a surface and the targets will be pulled to that spot rather than the position of the target. Thus, allowing the user to move free of the trajectory of encroaching enemies. Note: Maximum duration of this jutsu is dependent on the maximum duration of Kagemane no Jutsu. Once caught, targets are pulled into the user in two posts regardless of their distance from the user. This technique can be overpowered by a drastic release of chakra, such as the Gates or a Bijuu. To perform the technique the clan member will first bind their target using the Kage Mane no Jutsu technique. Once the target can no longer move, they form the needed handseals to initiate this technique. The clan member uses their shadow to form a hand which will creep up their opponent’s body to their neck. Once the hand reaches the neck, it will constrict in such a manner so as to strangle the opponent. However, the clan member will need to be careful. If their target has a lot of chakra, they can turn back the shadow hand and prevent it from binding their neck. These herbalists are no longer new to the craft, but they aren't yet on a respected tier. At this level of skill, they have perfected certain methods and skills that help minimize mistakes in the production process, effectively cutting down the post requirements for producing elixirs and increasing the viability of each. First, each rank of elixir has 2 slots added for free on top of their base slot availability. Second, when 10 elixirs of one type are produced, the post requirement for that specific item is reduced by 25%. For example, Jane produces 5 ‘C’ rank liquid Elixir of Strength and 5 ‘C’ rank gaseous Elixir of Strength. It will now take her 25% less time to make more ‘C’ rank Elixir of Strength, regardless of whether it’s liquid or gas state. Decimals are to be rounded down, and the requirement can never go below 1 post. It's your responsibility to keep track of these reductions in your bio, with proof!
At this level of skill, the herbalist has earned some renown for their abilities to concoct various elixirs. Shopkeepers know that their product will only be of the highest quality, and so profit from selling herbs or elixirs to these NPCs is doubled. (For example, selling a 'C' rank herb will now net them 2,000 Ryo.)
Additionally, Senior Herbalists are capable of opening up their own shop, which they can stock with any herbs and elixirs they have made. Not only is this the only way other players can buy elixirs, it's a great way for herbalists to trade herbs among themselves. The herbalist is free to set their prices to any amount they wish; the only downside is that Ryo is not paid out until someone actually buys the product.
Yakusou Shuutoku (Herb Mastery) Rank: S [500 EXP - 460 EXP at time of purchase due to Level 2 Intelligence stat] Range: Close (0m ~ 5m) Type: Passive / Yakusoushi Hijutsu Handseals: - Chakra Consumption: - As the beginning of all herbalism, the user is taught to understand the basics of tracking and picking herbs, as well as using them in various situations. Through this training, they are able to produce some of the most beneficial and harmful elixirs known to the shinobi world. In effect, this technique opens up the entire herbalist tree to the user. Note: The rank of the outcome elixir is determined by the rank of the herb used. Likewise, the rank the elixir is going to be will determine how many posts it takes for the herbalist to concoct it (for both herb to liquid and liquid to gas) as well as how many properties it can contain. 'D' rank takes 1 posts and can be given 1 property. 'C' rank takes 2 posts and can be given 3 properties. 'B' rank takes 4 posts and can be given 3 properties. 'A' rank takes 5 posts and can be given 4 properties. 'S' rank takes 10 posts and can be given 5 properties.
Properties are counted in slots, and each elixir the herbalist concocts will be different; this means you must keep track of what properties each one has in your bio. Additionally, each slot is taken up by a property, not by a property type. So if an herbalist stacks 4 Nagatsudzuki (Long Lasting) properties onto an 'S' rank elixir, they only have 1 slot open for another property.
Yakusou Henkan (Herb Conversion) Rank: S [500 EXP - 460 EXP at time of purchase due to Level 2 Intelligence stat] Range: Close (0m ~ 5m) Type: Supplementary / Yakusoushi Hijutsu Handseals: - Chakra Consumption: Mid, Low upkeep This technique is what allows an herbalist to turn the herbs they found into a liquid elixir. After putting an herb into the mortar, they focus chakra into the pestal and begin to grind the herb. The chakra resonates with the herb's chemical bonds, turning it into a liquid over time. Note: How long it takes for an herb to be converted into a liquid follows the rules of Yakusou Shuutoku (Herb Mastery). Only 1 herb can be converted at a time with this technique; 1 herb produces 1 ounce of liquid.
Ekitai Henkan (Liquid Conversion) Rank: S [500 EXP - 460 EXP at time of purchase due to Level 2 Intelligence stat] Range: Close (0m ~ 5m) Type: Supplementary / Yakusoushi Hijutsu Handseals: - Chakra Consumption: Mid, Low upkeep This technique is what allows an herbalist to turn the liquid they have produced into a gas. While the liquid is in the mortar, they focus chakra into the pestal and begin whipping it at a fenzied pace. The chakra resonates with the liquid's chemical bonds, making them unstable over time. When the process is complete, the herbalist must quickly put the liquid back into the vial, because exposure to air after this process is complete will turn it into a gas.

Sutangan no Jutsu (Limb Stunning Technique) Rank: C [200 EXP - 160 EXP due to Level 2 Intelligence stat] Range: Close (0m ~ 5m) Type: Offensive Handseals: 4 Chakra Consumption: Mid The electric influence that exists over the human body and its muscles allows one to control the later through unconventional methods, including through the means of chakra. After charging a small electric shock in the user’s hands, one can approach their victim and place the charged hand onto a limb or muscle on their body, unleashing the pent up shock and rendering the aforementioned target useless for the rest of the turn. Although simple, it’s highly effective when the user is faster than the victim, and can outmaneuver them as they strike. Also highly effective for keeping captives in place! Karasuhebi no Jutsu (Shocking Snake Technique) Rank: B [300 EXP - 260 EXP due to Level 2 Intelligence stat] Range: Close (0m ~ 5m), Mid (5m ~ 10m) Type: Offensive Handseals: 8 Chakra Consumption: High Through their talents in the Raiton release, the user is allowed to use their chakra to manifest a snake that will do their bidding. This snake is made comprised of pure lightning, and has advanced intellect of its own. It can communicate with the user mentally and follow orders well. This snake is useful for quick gashing and shocking attacks, and if one can manage to coil around the user, the equivalent of a strong shock course through their body, constricting and shocking it.

Kaminari Shibari (Thunder Binding) Rank: B [300 EXP - 260 EXP due to Level 2 Intelligence stat] Range: Close (0m ~ 5m) Type: Supplementary Handseals: 9 Chakra Consumption: High Raiton • Kaminari Shibari is a Ninjutsu utilizing the Lightning Element. The use will call down three bolts of lightning that will then implant into the ground in a triangular shape around their opponent. These Raiton infused pieces will then create electrified fields between themselves to form a triangular shaped prison. The field can be penetrated by a more powerful Wind Element infused weapon or a jutsu of stronger force.
Note: It doesn't hold any defensive properties if the target passes through with a lower defense they will the shock will be a shock comparable to level 3 strength.
Raiton Bunshin no Jutsu (Lightning Clone Technique) Rank: A [400 EXP - 360 EXP due to Level 2 Intelligence stat] Range: - Type: Supplementary Handseals: 3 Chakra Consumption: 3x High With this technique, the Raiton user is able to call upon aid from a perfect copy of themselves. After performing a set of handseals, the user creates an intangible copy of themselves. This clone has no substance, so it is not able to attack, and thus can only be used to confuse the enemy. It is mainly used in combination with other ninjutsu. These clones can be easily distinguished by opponents with doujutsu, but even opponents with normals eyes can tell tell it apart from the original if they are observant, as the clone does not have a shadow and will not disrupt the area around themselves with their movement. Considered is a high-speed movement technique - to an observer caught in the optical illusion, it appears as if the user has teleported. This allows the user to escape or attack suddenly, should they need to. However, while a high-speed movement, if used in broad daylight, one will still be quite visible and as such, easier to be defended against. Kage Bunshin no Jutsu (Shadow Clone Technique) Rank: B [300 EXP - 260 EXP at time of purchase due to Level 2 Intelligence stat] Range: Close (0m ~ 5m), Mid (5m ~ 10m), Far (10m+) Type: Supplementary Handseals: 1 Chakra Consumption: Halves the user’s chakra Kage Bunshin is an advanced, forbidden Ninjutsu technique, which grants the user the ability to create a tangible clone. The normal Bunshin technique creates a copy of the ninja that lacks any substance. However, Kage Bunshin distributes the ninja's chakra evenly among the clones and creates a real copy with form and substance, to the point the clone can utilize any jutsu the original ninja knows, and spawns with any equipment the user has one them at the time of the summoning. When the clone finally disperses, any new knowledge it has gained is passed back to the original ninja and any additional clones. Along with their ability to dampen their own chakra signal, users of Kagura Shingan can train their sensing abilities to also temporarily amplify their own reserves in order to create instantaneous invisible 'pulses' of chakra. These pulses, when detected by those with the same knowledge, can be converted in to simple messages that can be used to communicate important details to fellow sensors around them. However - be warned. Messages cannot be sent privately and chakra pulses will broadcast publicly to anyone with similar sensing abilities.
Note: Users and recipient(s) must know and have Kagura no Shingan activated in order to give and/or recieve messages. After performing the necessary handseal, the sensor closes their eyes and uses their innate ability to detect chakra in order to determine the location of their opponent by the faintest of chakra trails, as well as discerning the size of an approaching unseen force, and even their chakra capacity.
