When the comforts of civilization begin to dull our senses, we must never forget that in the beginning, there was war. And war. And more war. Long before there were empires, there were humans consumed with greed and the hunger for power. Resources, territories, information—these were the forms of sustenance upon which we preyed. Today, we call such habits vices. Oh, how arrogant we have become! Are we not still impelled by those primordial emotions? Is the advent of war so far-fetched? But alas, for you to truly understand, we must dive deeper into this land’s half-forgotten past.
There was a time when might was the only law that humankind knew. Fearsome clans roamed throughout the land, seeking amenable grounds within which they could take root and opposing forces against whom they could test their mettle. Given the irregularity of nature’s bounty, certain regions appealed more than others, and dominion over such coveted territories became the spark that ignited the earliest inter-clan wars. These fierce, internecine affairs tended to conclude only when one side had decimated their competition into oblivion, and many clans of story were rendered extinct during this period.
The victors of war, having claimed their territories, often made truces with surrounding locals, offering protection in exchange for access to the yields of agriculture. Over time, certain communities emerged as more dominant than others, either due to numbers or sheer talent, and their rapid expansion would force smaller, neighboring communities to either collapse into their fold or be devastated. When the dust settled, humankind found itself divided into the five major territories that we are familiar with today. And was the bloodshed over? With our lands obtained and our bellies filled, were we finally content?

Atop one of the highest peaks in the cliffs sits one of the oldest and most well-known training grounds in the land of lightning. Before the villages, this spot existed it’s where some of the strongest shinobi’s have come to hone their skills. After the formation of the hidden villages Kumogakure no Sato claimed this area as an official extension of the village. They Raikage commissioned the commission of a small hospital atop the highest battleground on the mountain side.

The young Uchiha looked up at the stairs as he climbed them, it was only a day since he last spoke to the Raikage. He was still somewhat at a loss for words regarding the fact that he was chosen to carry the spirit of the Nine-Tailed Fox, a powerful Tailed Beast. The Uchiha would eventually come to a small guard house near the middle of the climb, his black daitō held tightly in his right hand as he continued the climb. The Hyuuga guard allowed him to go past, having already been briefed on the Uchiha needing to access the area.
Soon Hitora would find himself at the apex of the stairs, looking out onto the legendary training field, the location that predated even the village itself, where many of his ancestors had trained and grown stronger. Soon he would stretch a bit as he looked around, trying to see if the Raikage was already on the scene or not. He wondered just how this process would be done, how would they go about sealing the Nine-Tailed Fox into him, it was something he never really had need to considered the idea of a Tailed Beast being sealed into him.
The sun was starting to peak over the mountainside as Xio made his way towards the training grounds his steps were a lighter than usual as he didn’t have any of his ninja equipment. ‘I wonder why she didn’t want ninja tools around, they’ve been my bread and butter for so long.’ Climbing the mountain side that lead to the landmark training ground he felt a little naked, it was a funny feeling but none the less his blood was pumping. It’s been a long time since he’s been excited about training, working with his mother so much he spent a lot of time mediating which wasn’t always the most exhilarating exercise. Finally reaching the base of the steps that lead to the training fields Xio would sign a little as he let out a large sigh.
“I hope this isn’t just more talking, and I hope my partner isn’t a drag I’ve never met Hitora Uchiha.”
Xio begun his trek up the staircase to the top platform that accommodated the little medical shack the Raikage kept. It wouldn’t take him to long to get to the top, he didn’t want to be late because that’s the one thing Fuma-Sama asked of him. ‘Looks like we’re on time my boy.’ The Genin reached the platform in no time upon arrival he noticed one person, a blacked haired boy around the same size as him.
“Oh Uchiha.”
The white hair shinobi would pause for a moment at the edge of the platform looking around for his mentor, she was no where in sight.
“Well uhh Hitora! I think that’s your name, What’s up I’m Xio.”
Speaking loudly from a distance the young Shinobi began to make his way to his potential squad mate.
“It’s nice to meet you. It’s crazy we didn’t see each other in academy or anything you can’t be much older than me huh?”

Hitora looked around the area some more, trying to make a mental note of what the area looked like in case the worst happened, it was a habit he had gotten into after his father murdered his mother, after his mentor lost an eye in the fight. He promised himself he would never be helpless again, he would never let others be hurt because of his weakness. As such, he was always formulating battle maps in his mind now. The young Uchiha’s eyes continued to scan the area when he heard the faint sounds of foot falls behind him.
As he turned around a gust of wind blew and began to blow his long robes and hakama towards his left side, his hair being caught in the wind too. It was then that the young boy began to speak towards him and greeted him. Hitora gave a small, respectful bow of his head in greeting to the young boy that had crested the stairway up to the plateau of the training area. His black eyes trained on the white haired boy who was about his age it seemed, and was speaking about being surprised they did not see each other in the academy.
“We could have had two different teachers at the academy who didn’t do much cross-teaching or cross-training of their classes, who knows.” Hitora also had not been the most popular kid in the academy so he could have meet with Xio but they might just not remember one another from a one off meeting or something similar. The Uchiha could not really tell at this stage, though he was unsure of why this person was here, he was not expecting anyone but the Raikage to show up any time soon as he was to get something…immense sealed within him soon.
“So, what brings you here? I was asked here by the Raikage, I wasn’t expecting anyone else to show up yet myself to be honest…” Hitora tightened his grip on the hilt of his daitō as well, wondering just who this person was. He did not know the boy, nor the boy him more than a name it seemed, but he wanted to be safe. Hitora did not otherwise show any signs of preparing for aggression or readiness for a fight in case, he did not want to scare the kid if he was just here for a simple bit of personal training, which could easily be the case.
[attr="class","itsover"] ‘Well.’ Xio paused about ten meters away from Hitora as he watched his body language slightly shift as he inched closer. ‘Was this a set up?’ the young Kami boy started to think to himself as he was dressed for a mission but hadn’t brought any weapons, before he left the office yesterday Fuma told him he’d be working with someone else and to leave all his weapons at home. Unarmed but dangerous was a moniker he sat out with this morning, it was clear either Hitora didn’t listen or he was just a dick like most of his fathers family because this interaction shouldn’t have started like this.
“I could’ve sworn Fuma –Sama said don’t bring any weapons up here, but clearly you missed the memo and she didn’t tell you there was a cell. Or are you hard of hearing or some shit?”
Xio sighed lightly under his breath.
“Gesturing yourself in such manor towards someone when you don’t know them can start fight, if you couldn’t hear in my tone of voice there was no hostility there but yet your hands on a weapon, what you so nervous for? If I’m correct there’s a Hyuuga guard you gotta deal with before you can step foot on this platform correct?”
Xio wasn’t naturally an aggressive person, but he’s never been fond of being treated weirdly by people he considered peers.
“But you know what never mind. This is your first warning with me Hitora, I’m nobody in important but I’ll tell you this. If you want problems I’ll gladly give them to you Uchiha, there’s no fear in my heart.”
As Xio Spoke his chakra flared up slightly, he didn’t have any weapons but he was sure enough capable of defending himself. Rolling out of bed this morning he thought he’d be making a new friend but from the way this was starting off he was gonna be fighting instead.
The Raikage knew what she was trying to do wasn’t going to be easy but she hadn’t expected to run into problems this early in the game. From a distance she watched over the interaction between the teenage boys, and they didn’t get off on the best foot or at least that’s what body language said. Without much time to waste she had to make her appearance known, allowing her chakra to coat her entire body she focused on the platform the two boys were on. ‘lets see how rusty I am.’ Fuma was a fair distance from the platform but it wasn’t anything she couldn’t cover with a little help from her eyes, the white tint was replaced by a blue pupil ashe she activated her Tenseigan fully. ‘Damn I haven’t felt this feeling since I sat down behind that desk.’ The thrill was coming back for the old warrior as she gestured her self in a kneeling position she would start to focus her chakra into her legs.
“I hope I make it.”
Firing herself off the opposite mountainside she would leave a moderate sized cloud of smoke behind accompanied by a faint blue trail of light. Floating through the air at great speeds she angled herself perfectly at her jump to land in between the two competing parties, as she descended she applied two strong pushes of chakra to the ground to slow her fall each blast of chakra hit the ground with enough force to blow over a small tree but not break the ground.
“Good Morning boys.”
Still in full chakra mode she stood between the two as the dust clouds cleared, she hadn’t wanted the boys to start out like this..
“What the hell is this?”
She asked blankly as she couldn’t hear anything from her position only see.

The Uchiha looked a bit curious at the sudden aggression, he understood a little apprehension but not the aggression. It was then that he realized why the boy was so aggressive, likely he was instructed to be here for whatever was needed to be done for the sealing, or perhaps he was the third member of the team that the Raikage had mentioned, Hitora remembered then that he was told to bring himself, his clothes and no weapons, he then looked in his right hand and saw the daitō clasped tightly in his hand.
The Uchiha held his free hand up in a defensive and explanatory way, he then gestured with his head to the blade as suddenly the Raikage herself appeared clad in some sort of chakra. Hitora put on a bit of an idiots smile and began to speak “Xio here saw me with my sword, I know you said to not bring any weapons but I feel naked without this with me, so I have no intentions of using the blade, I just prefer to keep it near me, ya never know when it will come in handy to have it.” Hitora continued his smirk, trying to defuse the tense situation.
Hitora then looked directly at the young Xio’s face, his eyes locking with the white-haired boys eyes as well. “I am not trying to create any kind of issue or difficulty with you, this is a misunderstanding caused by me and I apologize.” Whilst Hitora was not a push over, he did not want to create further misunderstandings and hoped that by looking right into the boys eyes and speaking plainly about the issue that he would gain his trust back to an extent so that he could move on.
Hitora then threw the blade hard at a nearby rock, so that it would stick into it a good few inches so that it was secure. The chain clanking loudly as it connected with the rock. “There we go, should not be an issue now, right?” The throw also served a secondary purpose, to show his strength to an extent and how sharp his blade was so that they knew both he and his weapon were ready for anything.
Just as the white haired shinobi was getting charged up two flashes of blue light crashed into the platform in between Hitora and him, ‘who.’ But then the boy knew who as the smoke cleared revealing the Raikage in prime form, although composed Xio was a little shaken by her appearance. Without looking in either direction she questioned the situation that was unfolding between Hitrora and himself which caused the Genin to sigh a little. But before he could speak up Hitora addressed her then turned to Xio to do the same, the other genin spoke of this being a misunderstanding which he could believe to some degree.
“Well, shit, Excuse my language, I didn’t expect for you to make such entrance, I thought you would’ve told him the run down so I felt like it was either disrespect, or he had other plan about this meeting”
Xio could feel the vibe completely shifting as Fuma arrived on the scene, he didn’t have to over do things here whatever the outcome could be. Looking back to his companion before he spoke Xio would slide his hands into his pockets.
“But yeah, it’s all good Hitora, I’ve had a couple different interactions wit my dads family, some folks are more stand offish than others.. And they believe that communication comes through the fist blah blah, so I’m always down for some sparing for any reason. But once again my name is Kami, Xio it’s nice to meet you.”
The genin spoke light heartedly as he truly didn’t want to have a problem with his partner despite showing he was welcoming to it. He would do his best to shift his attention back to the purpose of today, training with his Sensei.
“So Fuma-sama, what’s on the agenda for today? You showed up looking rather foxy.”
Speaking jokingly to his mentor he could hope but poke fun at her overpowered appearance.
Both boys reacted properly to her appearance, they gave their explanation trying to be as transparent as possible. And in this moment both sides of the coin was heads, with nothing more than a thought she allowed her chakra mode to be dispersed.
“So Hitora you forgot, that’s understandable I felt like when I let you know that you would be undergoing that merger you disconnected a little. Must be crazy to think you might have to share your body or die trying.”
As time was now they didn’t have a lot of experience with what Jinchuriki could do, or what the true purpose of them were but Fuma was given a set of instructions in order to seal the beast into someone from that old sage. ‘I hope I don’t kill these kids.’ Fuma thought as she begin to step back towards the little medical shack giving a little space for the boys to make eye contact without looking around her it was time to get things started vvvvvvvvvvvvc.
“And Xio calm down, you don’t have to prove anything while I’m around because if you die trying to do something stupid your parents aren’t the best people to have on your bad side. But anyways, lets get started because I haven’t seen what either of you could do I would like you to demonstrate your most powerful technique on a shadow clone of me.”
As she spoke she’d place he right in front of her performing a singular seal allowing to carbon copies of her to appear one to her left, the other to her right.
“Please don’t hold, back and they won’t be putting up any fight I just want to see what you consider your best moves.”
As she spoke she commanded both clones to move to the opposite edges of the platform so she wouldn’t be placing herself in any immediate danger.

Hitora looked at the woman who appeared then back to the boy, Xio, who had spoke up about some difficulties he had previously had with his father and his father’s friends. This was something that Hitora could relate to on some level, after all his own father had murdered his mother many moons ago. The thing that snapped his attention back to the Raikage was that she mentioned he might die trying to get the Nine-Tailed Fox Spirit sealed within him. It was something he suspected could happen, but he was not sure, nor was it an outcome he wanted to even consider.
Hitora continued to listen to the woman as she spoke about wanting to see what they could do, that she wanted the two young men to use their best technique against a shadow clone of her. Hitora thought for a moment, he had a few interesting Jutsu, some really strong ones but none that were his best at least not the best as far as he knew. However, a singular target really only called for one of two techniques, especially if it were to stay still while he used the technique. Hitora then walked a little bit away from the clone he had designated as his target.
It would likely be a strange sight, but before long his black eyes slowly wound out into red with a singular tomoe in either eye. He had locked onto his target and began to form his handseals, a small and fast flurry of his hands soon found him charging his right hand with lightning release chakra. The lightning sparked and shuttered in this hand, the red eyes of his Sharingan locked onto the clone of the woman. He waited a moment to make sure that the young boy did not suddenly get in his way.
Once he was sure he charged forwards. The Jutsu making a sound very similar to lightning travelling through air. His body moving at top speed as he suddenly struck his right hand out and towards the clone of the woman. He wondered just how powerful the woman’s defenses were to be tested against his Jutsu: Raikiri. Once the attack hit or missed or was deflected the young man would return to standing still, his eyes returning to the standard black and he let a small sigh out as he had just expended a not insignificant amount of Chakra.
He turned his attention to the real one, who was likely the only one left standing by now and said “That was my Sharingan paired with the Raikiri.” He hoped he need not further explain the two techniques to those present. He then looked at the white haired boy, wondering just what would his technique be called if it even had a name.
