When the comforts of civilization begin to dull our senses, we must never forget that in the beginning, there was war. And war. And more war. Long before there were empires, there were humans consumed with greed and the hunger for power. Resources, territories, information—these were the forms of sustenance upon which we preyed. Today, we call such habits vices. Oh, how arrogant we have become! Are we not still impelled by those primordial emotions? Is the advent of war so far-fetched? But alas, for you to truly understand, we must dive deeper into this land’s half-forgotten past.
There was a time when might was the only law that humankind knew. Fearsome clans roamed throughout the land, seeking amenable grounds within which they could take root and opposing forces against whom they could test their mettle. Given the irregularity of nature’s bounty, certain regions appealed more than others, and dominion over such coveted territories became the spark that ignited the earliest inter-clan wars. These fierce, internecine affairs tended to conclude only when one side had decimated their competition into oblivion, and many clans of story were rendered extinct during this period.
The victors of war, having claimed their territories, often made truces with surrounding locals, offering protection in exchange for access to the yields of agriculture. Over time, certain communities emerged as more dominant than others, either due to numbers or sheer talent, and their rapid expansion would force smaller, neighboring communities to either collapse into their fold or be devastated. When the dust settled, humankind found itself divided into the five major territories that we are familiar with today. And was the bloodshed over? With our lands obtained and our bellies filled, were we finally content?

We made it y’all, another month of OTA, and fresh off the press we have another promotion ready. Leaving behind the opening bonus sadly, we welcome the jugggggg! June is for juggin AKA working hard, so we are making it a double rewards month for every mission completed! Yes we said it's double rewards, now you all can really get into the thick of those builds if you work hard enough. And who knows what you might uncover in the process. AND all jobs are free to enroll no quest EXCEPT ANBU(Black Ops) roles.
1. The Sound Release is only available to Ninjutsu\Genjutsu primary characters.[break][break]
2. For characters who already have their three release slots filled, they will be able to swap one for the Sound Release (no revamp required) should their character go blind, for whatever reason, ICly. But, we will not be allowing random crap to pass; it needs to be done very well, and with purpose.[break][break]
However, being as how sound is relatively unique in its entirety, players will be able to keep all three of their elemental slots and simply tack Sound on (as a special Kekkei Touta, i.e a special "fourth" element) at the cost of doubling the EXP requirement for all of the techniques in this tree.[break][break]
On the other hand, should a user not desire the entire Sound Release, but wish to play a blind character (for flavor), they will be able to purchase the Buraindo (Sightless) technique for 600 EXP (SS rank worth). This means that it is the only technique they are allowed to have, and will be unable to obtain the Masteries for this tree.[break][break]
MASTERY[break][break]
Tier One - High-Frequency Vibrations: By increasing the potency of the vibrations in their sound jutsu, the users have learned to yield more devastating effects. More useful when paired with their sound-based projectiles, this first mastery allows the user to deal substantially more damage with all of their offensive-based Ototon jutsu. Those struck feel an increased nausea, and dizziness for a single post AFTER being struck. Unable to so much as walk properly, the world around them seems blurred and dazed.[break][break]
Tier Two - My Voice, My Roar: There are many techniques in the Sound tree which, unfortunately, threaten to deal a decent amount of damage back to the user should they exceed the limitations set forth. However, focusing with an even greater intensity, there have been a handful of users that have learned to bypass these drawbacks. Upon obtaining this level of mastery, all cool downs are effectively removed from sound based jutsu possessing them; this includes "once per thread" limitations to an extend that the thread max is doubled.[break][break] Tier Three - Seihei Buraindo: Also known as True Sightless, this represents the user's absolute mastery of their exceptional sense of sound. It is no secret that the user of such a technique possess one major weakness: incredibly high-pitched (sharp), or very loud sounds. However, with enough training, the user has learned to dampen the effects these noises have on their "unnatural vision," which, in some cases allow them to go completely unhindered. This level of mastery allows the user to retain absolute immunity to the aforementioned noises, so long as they are not within two meters of the noise's origins.[break][break]
Dabingun is a Ninjutsu technique utilizing the Sound Release. My collecting chakra in their throat and then manipulating their voice, this technique allows the user to effectively throw their voice across long distances, making it appear as if they were standing wherever the voice comes from. [break][break] note: This technique stays active for the entire post in which it was cast, however will need to be recast every post for further uses.[break][break]
Muchi Moshi no Jutsu (Supposing Ignorance Technique)[break] rank: C[break] range: Close (0m ~ 5m)[break] type: Supplementary[break] handseals: 2[break] Chakra Consumption: 2x Low[break]
The user forms the hand seals, channeling chakra into their hands. They then touch the target's ear, using the minute sound of the contact to set up a subtle vibration that interferes with the function of the ear, causing a painless sense of temporary deafness. However, the technique is rarely used on enemies, as a directed chakra surge of the same strength, focused on the ears, can very easily break the technique.[break][break]
note: This technique renders the victim completely deaf for a maximum of five posts. On the contrary, a single burst of one Mid worth of chakra can shatter this technique. This technique was created by Masakuni.[break][break]
Akutibu (Sound Hunting Sonar)[break] rank: C[break] range: Close (0m ~ 5m), Mid (5m ~ 10m), Far (10m+)[break] type: Supplementary[break] handseals: 4[break] Chakra Consumption: 2x Mid Activation, 2x Mid upkeep[break]
With this technique, the user is capable of enhancing their perception of sound via chakra to an unnatural degree. Though their eyes must remain closed for the technique to work, they are essentially granted an even better vision. Capable of discerning sounds to the faintest of heart beats, this allows the user to locate targets both near and far, even if they are not visible to the naked eye. Acting like a radar, it allows all sound-users to truly have an edge in combat! Its only downfall? Too much noise, making the radar hard to read.[break]
note: Like all sound-enhancing technique, extremely loud or sharp noises will severely disrupt this process and hinder the user, causing disorientation and or nausea.[break][break]
Kiai (Scream)[break] rank: C[break] range: Close (0m ~ 5m)[break] type: Offensive[break] handseals: 5[break] Chakra Consumption: 2x Mid[break] A very straight forward and offensive technique, scream allows the user to attack multiple targets at once with a powerful, almost deafening scream. The user will need to draw in a deep breath before performing the technique, which will then expand in a five by five meter conical blast of raw sound in front of the user.[break][break]
note: This technique induces heavy vomiting, disorientation, lack of balance, lack of overall bodily homeostasis, and panic for a duration of three posts. While screaming, the user must remain still. Moving, in any form (dodging, running, ducking, etc), immediately ends the technique. This technique has a two post cool-down.[break][break]
Oto Juugan (Sound Bullet)[break] rank: C[break] range: Close (0m ~ 5m), Mid (5m ~ 10M)[break] type: Offensive[break] handseals: 2[break] Chakra Consumption: 1x Mid per Bullet[break]
As the name would imply, the sound bullet technique allows the user to shoot small pockets of sound at their target from any source of sound they create. After forming a few small hand seals, the user will produce a quick intense sound, such as clapping, screaming, or anything that can power the bullets. This is the creation and expulsion of the bullet(s), with the of projectiles varying with how much chakra the user puts into the technique.[break][break]
note: The maximum amount of bullets that can be created, per cast, is five. this technique can move at level 5 speed, and has the impact similar to level 2 strength.[break][break]
Kyoumeisen (Resonating Echo Drill)[break] rank: C[break] range: Close (0m ~ 5m)[break] type: Offensive[break] handseals: -[break] Chakra Consumption: 2x Mid[break]
By using a porous mental device located on one’s arm, the user can feed chakra into the bracer\gauntlet and amplify the sound waves from arm movements to attack their opponent(s). By generating enough sound, the user can focus their chakra to redirect the waves mid-air to their intended target(s). By damaging the victim’s inner ear, the victim is rendered off-balance and nauseous. By sending these sound-waves through solid, inanimate objects, this technique can be used to destroy it (such as a large tree trunk, or a boulder); likewise, this techniques works on water weight and can severely hinder larger, fatter opponents.[break][break]
note: This technique requires a device similar to this being worn in order to be used. this technique has the knock back strength similar to level 3 strength.[break][break]
Otoken Danmaku (Sound Blade Projectile)[break] rank: B[break] range: Close (0m ~ 5m)[break] type: Offensive[break] handseals: 4[break] Chakra Consumption: 1x High per Blade[break]
Taking the knowledge of their Sound Bullets to the next level, the user has learned to add even more chakra to their sound based projectiles. With this additional boost of energy, the user is also capable of forging these projectiles into even more lethal, effective missiles. Shaped in the form of swords (no longer than three feet, no wider than five inches, and no thicker than an inch) these sound blades are fired off (after clapping, shouting, or performing some sort of movement to facilitate the necessary sound), and using their high-frequency vibrations, cut through surfaces as tough as wood.[break][break]
note: The maximum number of blades that can be created, per cast, is five. This technique was created by Izanagi. this technique moves at speeds up to level 6, and slicing capabilities similar to level 3 strength.[break][break]
Banshou no Kyuumetsu (Sudden Destruction of All Creation)[break] rank: S[break] range: Close (0m ~ 5m), Mid (5m ~ 10m)[break] type: Offensive[break] handseals: 10[break] Chakra Consumption: 2x High[break]
The user forms the hand seals, creating a loud burst of sound such as a scream or a detonation. The user's chakra uses that sound as a medium, creating a massive sound-wave that radiates out from the user, so powerful that it creates visual distortion within its range. The wave impacts with extreme blunt force, followed by violently damaging vibrations. This wave leaves behind an auditory dead-zone, where no sound can be heard until the end of the round.[break][break]
note: This technique can only be used once per thread. Using it twice in a single thread will result in permanent damage to the user’s vocal box, rendering them mute. Masakuni. this technique has the destructive knock back force similar to level 5 strength, it spreads at the same rate as level 8 speed. [break][break]
Buraindo (Sightless)[break] rank: S[break] range: Close (0m ~ 5m), Mid (5m ~ 10m), Far (10m+)[break] type: Passive[break] handseals: -[break] Chakra Consumption: -[break]
Considered to be the pinnacle of the Sound Release Ninjutsu, this technique essentially increases the user’s natural hearing by drastic degrees. With this, the user can essentially “see” the world around them via the vibrations from sound, creating a very detailed and exact map of their surroundings. This technique has been said to be favored among shinobi who have been blinded by one means or another, as it allows them to still fight with a incredibly renown.[break][break]
note: This technique essentially grants the user selective hearing, to which they can decrease or increase with astounding proficiency up to a maximum of twenty meters from their person. With their eyes closed, this ability gives them the ability to “see” the world around them as if they had eyes. Unnaturally loud or sharp noises (high-frequency whistles, or explosions) severely disrupt this ability and, in most situations, distort the user’s perception.
