When the comforts of civilization begin to dull our senses, we must never forget that in the beginning, there was war. And war. And more war. Long before there were empires, there were humans consumed with greed and the hunger for power. Resources, territories, information—these were the forms of sustenance upon which we preyed. Today, we call such habits vices. Oh, how arrogant we have become! Are we not still impelled by those primordial emotions? Is the advent of war so far-fetched? But alas, for you to truly understand, we must dive deeper into this land’s half-forgotten past.
There was a time when might was the only law that humankind knew. Fearsome clans roamed throughout the land, seeking amenable grounds within which they could take root and opposing forces against whom they could test their mettle. Given the irregularity of nature’s bounty, certain regions appealed more than others, and dominion over such coveted territories became the spark that ignited the earliest inter-clan wars. These fierce, internecine affairs tended to conclude only when one side had decimated their competition into oblivion, and many clans of story were rendered extinct during this period.
The victors of war, having claimed their territories, often made truces with surrounding locals, offering protection in exchange for access to the yields of agriculture. Over time, certain communities emerged as more dominant than others, either due to numbers or sheer talent, and their rapid expansion would force smaller, neighboring communities to either collapse into their fold or be devastated. When the dust settled, humankind found itself divided into the five major territories that we are familiar with today. And was the bloodshed over? With our lands obtained and our bellies filled, were we finally content?

Kuchiyose no Jutsu (Summoning Technique) is a space-time ninjutsu that allows the summoner to transport items, animals, or people across long distances instantly.[break][break]
Before an animal summoning can be performed, a prospective summoner must first sign a contract with a given species. The contract comes in the form of a scroll, on which the contractor uses their own blood to sign their name and place their fingerprints. Once signed, it is valid until the summoner willingly breaks it or dies. After this they need only offer an additional blood sacrifice on the hand they signed the contract with, mold their chakra with hand seals, and plant the hand they signed the contract with at the location they wish to summon the creature. The amount of chakra used during summoning determines how powerful the summoned creature will be.[break][break]
Once summoned, the animal can perform a task or help the user in battle. However, the summon is not required to do anything at all, and if the bond between the summoner and summon is bad, they may be more of a hindrance than an ally. In addition, Summons are able to reverse-summon their contract holders to them. [break][break]
Restrictions[break][break]
1. Summoning Families are intensely picky about those they contract with. In order to sign a contract the user must be at least Chuunin rank. Other limits may apply depending on the particular family.[break][break]
2. One may only contract with a single family at a time. To obtain a new family, the old contract must be broken. Similarly, only five people may contract with the same family at a time, although other limits may apply depending on the particular family.[break][break]
3. Summons require an A - Rank quest before they may be purchased in the EXP shop with the exception of the family's Sage, which must be obtained through Administration-approved roleplay.[break][break]
4. Within a thread, only one version of a summon may be called at a time, regardless of the number of summoners present. However, different members of the same family may be called. Keep in mind that Summons will never fight against their own family members.[break][break]
5. If a summon should die, they are gone forever. This applies to all contract holders, not just the one who summoned them at the time. If this happens, contact an Administrator to have them update the Summoning Family's information.[break][break]
6. Summoning Families will occupy one of the users slots. [break][break]
Jutsu[break][break]
Kuchiyose no Jutsu (Summoning Technique)[break] Rank: A[break] Range: Close (0m ~ 5m)[break] Type: Supplementary[break] Handseals: 5[break] Chakra Consumption: 1x Low - 1x Massive: All summons have their own chakra cost, which the user will need to meet in order to bring them forth. In terms of inanimate objects, the user can summon up to ten secondary weapons for a Low amount of chakra (per summoning); on the other hand, they may summon up to five primary weapons for a Mid amount of chakra (per summoning).[break][break] Note: This is a contract with a specialized summoning family, not like the original version you find in universal ninjutsu!
