They are arguably one of the strongest clans in history; even what could be considered their only competition is a clan tied to their ancestral heritage, the Uchiha. The founder of the Senju Clan was born of the Rikudou Sennin's bloodline and empowered by the chakra of the Sage, strengthening his own children and descendants.[break][break] The ninja arts are traditionally points of focus; Taijutsu, Genjutsu, Ninjutsu. The Senju excel in ALL areas and are capable of immense displays of natural tactical superiority and aptitude. It is not merely a Kekkei Genkai that causes this; it is said that their gifts are passed down on the cellular level. The Senju clan possess what is believed to be a degenerative form of Kekkei Mōra (Bloodline Encompassing), an advanced type of Kekkei Genkai unique to a few special descendants of the Sage.[break][break] 1. Senju can be Ninjutsu/Taijutsu Primary,While still bound by the rules of their chosen type during roleplay, all Senju start with the (+2 Stat Points) depending on which primary they chose. Taijutsu primaries will receive +2 in speed and strength, while Ninjutsu primaries, will receive +2 Stat Points in (Chakra, and Ninjutsu) [break][break] 2. Senju are unique in that they are capable of utilizing advanced releases in conjunction with their Clan Abilities. Needless to say, this aspect of the Senju is only available to Chuunin and higher, though Clan Techniques are open to all.[break][break] 3. The Senju Clan is for Advanced Roleplayers. Staff permission is required. Furthermore;[break][break] I. INTUITIVE FORMATION - Senju Clan members are highly skilled practitioners when it comes to Ninjutsu. Those who have attained the first level of mastery may choose one technique tree in their arsenal, and forego the need to form Handseals for these techniques by merely clasping or touching their palms together for the equivalent amount of time. In addition, once per thread, the user may perform any Ninjutsu Technique they know for only 1 Handseal, regardless of the techniques stated Handseal requirement. This mastery applies to non-Senju techniques only.[break][break] II. LAUGHING MONK - The second level of mastery and one signifying resilience in the face of adversity. Senju are known for not only their spiritual strength, but their incredible willpower as well. Once a Senju Clan member with this Mastery successfully breaks free of an opponents Genjutsu technique on their own (via pain, chakra disruption, etc. This doesn't auto-break Genjutsu for you.), they are able to instantly recognize Genjutsu cast by that opponent for the remainder of the thread.[break][break] III. ESSENCE OF THE PURE LAND - The highest level of Mastery possible for a Senju, once this Mastery is obtained, Clan Members display their well-rounded nature as superior to all others, and improve their ability to capitalize on the usage of Taijutsu. Senju Clan members with this mastery are capable of utilizing their blood connection to the ancient Sage and can revitalize their bodies. Each full turn that the user spends utilizing only Taijutsu techniques (of C Rank and below), they may replenish their chakra pool (as in, regenerate chakra, not add anything on top of their normal chakra pool) by x1 High.[break][break] Each full turn that the user spends relying solely on their body and not using ANY chakra based technique (excluding entrance posts), causes the Senju's chakra to replenish by x2 High. (If they haven't expended any chakra or if their chakra pool is full, this mastery is instead capable of healing minor physical wounds [cuts/scrapes/bruises] provided the necessary conditions are still met). It is not powerful enough to heal broken bones, regrow limbs or prevent fatal injury.[break][break] Chitose Meirei no Jutsu (Thousand Year Instruction Technique)[break] Rank: S[break] Range: ---[break] Type:: Supplementary[break] Handseals: 10[break] Chakra Consumption: x2 High, Mid Upkeep[break] Often the first technique clan members learn, Chitose Meirei No Jutsu is a ninjutsu technique utilizing the Senju clan's bloodline connection to the Rikoudou Sennin. After a full turn of charging, the user performs the necessary Handseals and gains a thin aura of chakra related to their strongest chakra nature affinity. For the next two turns, the user performs all techniques as if they also possessed all relevant masteries (i.e. they could perform an Earth Release jutsu as if they possessed all three Earth Release Masteries, then immediately after perform a Genjutsu as if they possessed all Genjutsu Masteries). Any masteries that grant one-time techniques can be used in conjunction with techniques from the corresponding tree, provided the user has a method for performing multiple jutsu simultaneously (clones, etc.).[break][break] Note:The turn duration increases by one each time the user gains a Mastery in the Senju Clan, for a total of five. Once used, it cannot be utilized again for a time period equivalent to however many turns it was used for, though it can be ended prematurely if the user so wishes.[break][break] Senju Hijutsu: Kōtei Genmitsuna Chōsa (Senju Secret Technique: Emperor's Rigorous Study)[break] Rank: S[break] Range: Close (0m ~ 5m), Mid (5m ~ 10m), Far (10m +)[break] Type:: Passive[break] Handseals: ---[break] Chakra Consumption: ---[break] A passive technique that can be gained by the Senju, it is a ninjutsu which reflects their excellent chakra control and proficiency. With this technique, the chakra cost of techniques used multiple times in a single thread goes down by one tier (the user performs a technique that costs x1 Massive, the second time one uses the same technique, it's chakra cost becomes x1 High, the third time it costs x1 Mid, etc.). This only effects techniques used multiple times in succession within the same thread and is not cumulative, resetting for each battle. Using a different technique resets the chakra cost reduction as well.[break][break] Note:Regardless of reductions, the lowest cost paid for a technique will always be x1 Low. This passive effects all non-Senju related Ninjutsu techniques (doesn't work with Genjutsu or Taijutsu).[break][break] Senkikēji no Jutsu (One Thousand Caged Demons Technique)[break] Rank: S[break] Range: Close (0m ~ 5m), Mid (5m ~ 10m)[break] Type:: Defensive[break] Handseals: 4[break] Chakra Consumption: Low - x2 Massive[break] After performing the necessary Handseals, the user claps their hands together vigorously, releasing their potent chakra in an omnidirectional burst that spreads out up to 10 meters, centered on the user. Though this does not grant enhancements of any Type: to the user, it is more than sufficient to break the user out of binding/paralyzing-Type: enemy techniques that normally require the Eight Celestial Gates or a Bijuu Cloak. The amount of chakra placed into the technique determines the power of techniques that the user is capable of breaking. Techniques that are successfully broken out of can be subsequently broken out of by the user expending only x1 Mid, regardless of the strength of the technique, and appear as if ripped apart by the user's energies.[break][break] Note:Only works on Ninjutsu techniques. This technique has no effect on the opponent normally but can be used in conjunction with the user's release(s) in order to emit a large (10m) field of the corresponding element, in a configuration of the users choosing. This element will have defensive properties equivalent to the chakra cost paid by the user, but cannot be used to attack. power similar to level 4 Strength and level 8 speed movements.[break][break] Shin no Sakkaku Shēdo (True Illusion Shade)[break] Rank: S[break] Range: Close (0m ~ 5m), Mid (5m ~ 10m), Far (10m +)[break] Type:: Supplementary[break] Handseals: 8[break] Chakra Consumption: x2 High[break] After performing Handseals, the users chakra momentarily darkens the surrounding area. With this technique, the user can target their own Genjutsu techniques in a way that allows them to effect mechanical beings such as puppets, charging the moulded illusory chakra with their own Sage blessed power. Genjutsu used with this technique can halt the functioning of a puppet's parts, forcing them to ignore the commands of their puppeteer and stand motionless until the target Genjutsu ends. The puppets weapons, and any jutsu involving them, will not function until the targeted technique is complete, even if the puppeteer breaks themselves free of the illusion.[break][break] Note:This technique also has a hazardous effect on chakra-sensing techniques (excluding Dojutsu), which scramble once this jutsu is used, interpreting only chaos from the conflicted chakra signals.[break][break] Kiso Keihatsu (Base Enlightenment)[break] Rank: S[break] Range: ---[break] Type:: Supplementary[break] Handseals: 9[break] Chakra Consumption: x2 High, x1 High (Optional)[break] After the utilization of this technique, the user's Genjutsu techniques seem 'more real', and cast shadows, create sound, disturb the environment, and can compensate for the specifics of any known illusion to make it harder to detect as false. The manner in which illusions can be made to seem more real is nearly endless in utility, though the manner in which it is roleplayed out determines the technique's effectiveness. Detail in regards to the desired conditions of the technique's usefulness always determine its success. Any sensation associated with an illusory event actually occurring can be mimicked with this technique, though this doesn't stop them from being illusions.[break][break] Note:For an additional x1 High, this effect can be applied to the user's allies, enhancing their Genjutsu as well. This technique cannot be broken via pain, Kai, or chakra disruption, but the techniques it is used on can still be broken normally. Max Pain threshold is 8[break][break] Sensekaigameiro (Thousand World's Maze)[break] Rank: S[break] Range: Close (0m ~ 5m), Mid (5m ~ 10m), Far (10m +)[break] Type:: Supplementary[break] Handseals: 1[break] Chakra Consumption: High[break] After performing the Tiger Handseal, the user can create a 'trap' of layered Genjutsu. Once used, Genjutsu techniques can be cast on top of one another, so that breaking out of one simply triggers the next to take effect. This technique must be performed before each jutsu wishing to be layered is cast, and the chakra costs naturally stack. [break][break] Note:Each layered Genjutsu can be broken via pain, Kai, or bursts like the Eight Gates or Bijuu Cloak, though this technique itself is immune to such tactics.[break][break] Unmei Senshi (Destined Warrior)[break] Rank: S[break] Range: Close (0m ~ 5m), Mid (5m ~ 10m)[break] Type:: Supplementary[break] Handseals: ---[break] Chakra Consumption: x2 High, x1 Massive (Optional)[break] The user sends extra chakra to an attacking limb. During the turn it is used, this single limb is capable of allowing its chakra coating to instantly adapt to and match the physical prowess of an opponent. While active, any maneuvers performed by this single limb are equivalent in strength, speed, durability, and agility to the corresponding stats of the Senju's enemy. This technique can be used in conjunction with other Taijutsu techniques.[break][break] Note:On its most basic level, this technique only matches natural stats, and cannot duplicate temporary stat boosts provided by techniques such as the Gates, nor can it match stats upgraded by an opponents Masteries (Such as the Tier 1 Uchiha Clan Mastery that enhances agility). By paying a x1 Massive cost, the user can match bonus stats conveyed by any source. Best for use against physically dominant opponents; the users stats will lower themselves to match opponents as well if applicable.[break][break] Shinguru-shin no Shinkū-te (Single God Vacuum Hand)[break] Rank: S[break] Range: ---[break] Type:: Offensive[break] Handseals: ---[break] Chakra Consumption: x1Massive[break] Taijutsu techniques used by Senju are heavily supplemented by their unique chakra, and are capable of causing foreign sources of chakra to 'leak' after being hit. Once this technique is activated, the user's successful Taijutsu attacks (that cause actual damage to opponents) are powerful enough to literally 'knock the chakra' out of enemies, which collects itself into orbs and floats harmlessly nearby. Chakra-seeing Dojutsu can see these orbs, but neither the opponent or the user can interact with them otherwise.[break][break] Note:Once performed, each successful Taijutsu strike against opponents (even normal melee attacks/unranked punches and kicks) cause opponents to lose x1 Low worth of Chakra upon successfully connecting. Multi-strike techniques cause this effect to stack. This technique can only be used once per thread, but lasts for three turns.[break][break] Senbuki (One Thousand Arms)[break] Rank: S[break] Range: ---[break] Type:: Supplementary[break] Handseals: ---[break] Chakra Consumption: High[break] The user's connection to the Sage's 'body', his natural power, the inheritance of strength and life, is truly second to none. With this technique, the user's combat precision is deadly, so much so that they are able to accurately direct their Taijutsu and maximize damage. The user demolishes others in combat; techniques with a chance to break bones always do so, knockback effects always take place at maximum efficiency, and even the user's accuracy with weapons is noticeably greater than normal shinobi.[break][break] Note:Any Taijutsu based technique with 'conditionals' (chances to break bones, knockback effects, knockdowns, etc.) are always successful, provided the original attack itself is successful. Taijutsu requiring extreme precision, and combat maneuvers that require specific balance/positioning are treated as if their conditions are always met, when involving Senju. Still, use of the technique must be roleplayed effectively for the techniques true potential to be realized. This lasts for a single turn each time used.[break][break] In terms of primary weapon usage; Senju with this technique are able to perform weapon-based tecniques that require specific body positions or stances as if they are performing such acts perfectly, regardless of their actual position (use common sense; they can for instance use an Iaijutsu technique even if their sword is already unsheathed, but couldn't use an Iaijutsu technique with an axe). In terms of secondary weapons, they could easily intercept moving targets as if they were standing still, though an opponents actions along with the roleplayer's skill ultimately determine the techniques usefulness.[break][break] Shin: Sokumen Tentō Rinbō (God: Aspect Overturning Limbo)[break] Rank: SS[break] Range: ---[break] Type:: Supplementary[break] Handseals: 24[break] Chakra Consumption: x3 Massive[break] The ultimate technique of the Senju Clan, it is most useful to those who've acquired an Advanced Release. After performing a long string of Handseals, the user's chakra flares out wildly, visible to all as a thick undulating aura that mimics their Advanced Release chakra nature in form. Once activated, the user is capable of performing a single Advanced Release technique in their arsenal free of cost, and it is performed as if the masteries of its component basic releases were applicable to the advance technique. (The user could, for instance, perform a Wood Release technique, and all three Earth Release as well as all three Water Release Masteries would apply to the Wood Release technique as if it were both elements). Offensive and Defensive bonuses are both applied to this single technique, and all reductions are applied to the Advanced Release technique if they can be. [break][break] Note:Related Masteries that allow for the usage of Mastery specific techniques can be used simultaneously with this jutsu, effectively allowing the user to 'double cast' if the Mastery allows for it, even if they have no other means to perform jutsu simultaneously. An Advanced Release technique used in this manner is treated as a Rank higher in terms of effect, damage, and utility, and allows for S Rank Advanced Release techniques to be performed at a level of power on par with Kinjutsu. Naturally, this technique can only be used once per thread.[break][break] If the user does not (or cannot, in the event of a Taijutsu Primary/J.O.A.T.) possess an Advanced Release, the activation of this technique can instead be used to make chakra moulding more difficult for others, spreading the user's chakra aura across the entire battlefield. When used in this way, anyone caught within its area of effect (up to 100m) with the exception of the Senju themselves, can ONLY use chakra based techniques that are S or SS Rank for the remainder of the thread, as these are the only techniques strong enough to overcome the Senju's power. This version of the technique cannot distinguish between friend and foe. Prelude -
When the comforts of civilization begin to dull our senses, we must never forget that in the beginning, there was war. And war. And more war. Long before there were empires, there were humans consumed with greed and the hunger for power. Resources, territories, information—these were the forms of sustenance upon which we preyed. Today, we call such habits vices. Oh, how arrogant we have become! Are we not still impelled by those primordial emotions? Is the advent of war so far-fetched? But alas, for you to truly understand, we must dive deeper into this land’s half-forgotten past.
There was a time when might was the only law that humankind knew. Fearsome clans roamed throughout the land, seeking amenable grounds within which they could take root and opposing forces against whom they could test their mettle. Given the irregularity of nature’s bounty, certain regions appealed more than others, and dominion over such coveted territories became the spark that ignited the earliest inter-clan wars. These fierce, internecine affairs tended to conclude only when one side had decimated their competition into oblivion, and many clans of story were rendered extinct during this period.
The victors of war, having claimed their territories, often made truces with surrounding locals, offering protection in exchange for access to the yields of agriculture. Over time, certain communities emerged as more dominant than others, either due to numbers or sheer talent, and their rapid expansion would force smaller, neighboring communities to either collapse into their fold or be devastated. When the dust settled, humankind found itself divided into the five major territories that we are familiar with today. And was the bloodshed over? With our lands obtained and our bellies filled, were we finally content?
