[nospaces] [attr="class","believeBG"] [attr="class","believeHead"] [attr="class","believeIcon"] [attr="class","believeBody"] The origins of the Nara clan can be faintly traced back to the Leaf village, hundreds of years ago during the advent of ninjutsu and the discoveries the great Sage had made. With their unique ability to literally control the shadows, the Nara were quickly revered as magi, wise-men and gurus, and were certainly popular among the many cliques within the shinobi world. They were not the biggest clan around by far, but they had quickly made a name for themselves during a series of foreign invasions that ultimately ended well for the Leaf thanks to the Nara's shadow manipulation. Not knowing what to expect from this new breed of secret technique users, those that faced them quickly perished. Soon, they would be legendary.[break][break] Their secret lie in the manipulation of shadows. Many of the bloodlines were still unknown within the lands, but something as simple as shadow alteration had managed to evade the sense of many. They'd strike in battle whilst hidden, and express no alliance until the victim's death would ensure such split secrets of the darkest kind. Finally, after around thirty years of mystery, an investigative, collaborative report on the behalf of a joint operation between then allies Mist and Rain would concentrate the Nara sightings into the Fire Country, and finally allow them to properly discover their identities and slowly assimilate their powers. Still, the damage incurred was done well, and the world would never forget the influence of the Nara.[break][break] As the years passed, they'd establish themselves peacefully within the shinobi community, though making no efforts as a clan to somehow attempt and appear to dominate over other clans. Due to their relaxed attitudes, they'd hope their latest great battles would be their last, and for almost half a year, it'd be so. By now, the clan's secrets became well known, and the group was not considered a heavy fighting force anymore. Still, strategically placing certain Nara into a few groups always yielded its advantage, and such, would be employed discretely. So far, they had managed to live life under the radar. Unfortunately, fate was not without a sense of irony, forcefully casting them alongside the rest of the world into a never ending chaotic apocalypse consisting of a series of Great Wars.[break][break] During the many conflicts and wars, they'd find their numbers greatly dwindled. Half of the survivors would leave their forces at their home, helping everyone they could as much as possible, while the other chose exodus, hoping to reestablish themselves in a less hectic area. Upon the aftermath of the Great Wars, a few have relocated elsewhere, sent as part of a lengthy expedition that would attempt to settle life elsewhere if the main group’s restoration efforts failed. Those in other villages are often treated as regulars, and do not really follow the Konoha branch’s lead too much. Due to this, there no longer would be a defined recognized leader residing within Leaf, and such a tradition has been held to this day.[break][break] Similar to their Akimichi brethren, the Nara are very laid back individuals, although they tend to be more lazy and calm. They are characterized as classic lone wolves, preferring the company of few over a gathering of many. Their minds are more prone to art, either through music, the written word, or other forms of artistic exposure. Also, many of the clan members are revered as extremely philosophical and logical, reflecting to others whenever they indulge in favorite pastimes such as chess. Due to this relaxed, lazy attitude, there is no real ‘elite’ structuring within their families. Very rarely to they marry outside the clan or assemble large councils in order to make decisions, allowing the members to instead govern themselves.[break][break] Appearance wise, the Nara have no real distinct feature that forces them to stand out, making their secretive ways even more effective. It takes not blood to be a Nara – only skill, a clear mind and a sound soul.[break][break] Special Trait: Noroi-i (Medicine Man)[break] The Nara clan is known for their intelligence and the members of this clan are noticeably skilled in the field of medicine, having passed down knowledge of medicine preparations and effects for generations.[break][break] Known for their capabilities, they have gained rapport with shopkeepers around the world and can purchase Herbalist supplies at a 50% discount. However, the sale back rate for any item purchased with this discount will always be 50% less than what they purchased their item(s) for.[break][break] Nara clan members may also join the Herbalist profession without undergoing the mandatory quest.[break][break] Restrictions[break] 1. Nara are a Ninjutsu primary clan.[break][break] Tier One –Shadow Sleuth - After reaching a certain stage in their training, all the hard-work and skill the Nara clansmen has put into perfecting their craft has paid-off. This has allowed them a better understanding of molding their chakra when creating shadows. Because of this, the user has doubled the duration of kage mane at all ranks.[break][break] Tier Two – Silhouette Extension - A clansmen’s ‘Shadow Imitation’ is their supreme weapon when in combat. Through a raw talent and innate understanding of their hijutsu and normal shadows, the clansmen has now further mastered their control over their own shadow, and the shadow others. The user significantly increases their range to triple Kagemane no Jutsu's original range, thus extending all their hijutsu to Far (10m+), with their maximum range being thirty meters.[break][break] Tier Three - Pound for Pound Bound - The ultimate ascension, clansmen who have reached this level of mastery are feared through the world for their unbridled control over all shadows. A true Nara genius, after gaining the highest level of mastery with their hijutsu can wrestle even the mightiest into submission with shadows alone. Upon the apex of their skill with clan jutsu the user will find they are capable of expending chakra to further strenghten their shadows. To this effect they are able to prevent escape from their shadows via drastic releases of chakra, such as the Gates or Bijuu. However the user must match the amount of chakra being expended by the target. Uniquely, this mastery of the hijutsu allows Nara themselves to escape the shadows of others at no cost if they have not also reached this tier.[break][break] Kagemane no Jutsu (Shadow Imitation Technique)[break] Rank: C[break] Range: Close (0m ~ 5m), Mid (5m ~ 10m)[break] Type: Supplementary[break] Handseals: 2[break] Chakra Consumption: Mid per target [break] Kage Mane no Jutsu is a Ninjutsu technique developed by the Nara clan. Its original purpose was as a skill to help delay any pursuers. After forming the needed hand seals, the clan member is able to manipulate their shadow along any surface. By using other nearby shadows they can further extend the reach of their shadow; however, they are limited to the surface area of the original cast shadow. Once the clan member's shadow reaches the target shadow, it will attach itself. While attached, the target will be frozen, only able to replicate in mirror form the actions of the clan member. If the clan member is low on chakra, the Kage Mane will falter and the shadow will return to its normal form.[break][break] Note: The duration of Kage Mane depends on the Ninja's rank. At Genin, the duration is 1 full turn. At Chuunin, the duration is 2 full turns. At Jounin, the duration is three full turns. Keep in mind that a full turn constitutes the end of the caster's next turn. Like the Yamanaka technique, once you’re caught, you’re caught. This technique can be overpowered by a drastic release of chakra, such as the Gates or a Bijuu. [break][break] Kageyose no Jutsu (Shadow Gathering Technique)[break] Rank: C[break] Range: Close (0m ~ 5m)[break] Type: Supplementary[break] Handseals: 3[break] Chakra Consumption: Mid to cast, Low to sustain[break] After performing the necessary handseals, the user is granted exceptional control over their shadow. Basically, this technique takes the user's own shadow and transforms and stretches it into countless thin tentacles, which are then used to grab objects and pull them in. Also, one can skillfully make use of the tentacle-shaped shadow tendrils by using them to lift up and throw weapons like kunai and such. It is accurate enough to even make the tentacles go through tiny holes.[break] Note: The user must remain still while using this technique. A maximum of five tendrils can be created per cast. User must know Kagemane no Jutsu. [break][break] Kagemane Shuriken no Jutsu (Shadow Imitation Shuriken Technique)[break] Rank: B[break] Range: Close (0m ~ 5m), Mid (5m ~ 10m)[break] Type: Supplementary[break] Handseals: 3[break] Chakra Consumption: Mid per projectile[break] Kage Mane Shuriken no Jutsu is a Ninjutsu technique developed by the Nara clan. Using kunai or trench knives, the user can imbue their shadow chakra to create "pins" to stick their opponent in place. These knives absorb the chakra nature of the user and give off the nature's effect. In this case, the knives take on the Nara clan's shadow binding properties. By implanting the shadow chakra enhanced blade into the shadow of their target, they will be frozen in place; just as if they were caught in one of the clan members extended shadow bindings.[break][break] Note: The duration of Kage Mane depends on the Ninja's rank. User must know Kagemane no Jutsu.[break][break] Kage Nui no Jutsu (Shadow Sewing Technique)[break] Rank: B[break] Range: Close (0m ~ 5m), Mid (5m ~ 10m)[break] Type: Supplementary[break] Handseals: 2[break] Chakra Consumption: Mid to cast and sustain[break] This is a Ninjutsu from among the Nara clan's secret techniques that uses materialized shadows to attack and bind, instead of merely immobilizing and controlling like the Shadow Imitation Technique. The user changes the shape of their shadow into several sharp needles and controls each separately. They can then attack several targets simultaneously and at the same time snatch away their ability to move by sewing them stuck with the shadow threads. Because it is a physical attack, it is impossible to capture someone without harming them, but on the other hand, since the speed of invocation and the time of duration are excellent, it can be used when urgent restraint is required.[break][break] Note: A maximum of ten tendrils can be created each time this technique is used. User must know Kagemane no Jutsu. this technique has cutting strength similar to level 5 strength [break][break] Kage Tsukami no Jutsu (Shadow Clutch Technique)[break] Rank: B[break] Range: Close (0m ~ 5m), Mid (5m ~ 10m)[break] Type: Supplementary[break] Handseals: 5[break] Chakra Consumption: Mid x2, Mid (upkeep)[break] After extending their shadow along a surface, the user will merge it with that of the intended target, allowing them to grab hold of and manipulate said object as they desire, as if it were an extension of themselves. [break] Note: Though the two shadows of user and target are connected, unlike with the Kagemane no Jutsu, the target is not forced to copy the user's movements, allowing them to retain their own range of motion. This technique can be overpowered by a drastic release of chakra, such as the Gates or a Bijuu. User must know Kagemane no Jutsu.[break][break] Kuro Higanbana (Black Spider Lily)[break] Rank: B[break] Range: Close (0m ~ 5m), Mid (5m ~ 10m), Far (10m+)[break] Type: Supplementary[break] Handseals: 4, 4[break] Chakra Consumption: Mid x2, Mid x2 (per target)[break] Once the necessary hand seals are performed the user's shadow extends outwards in different directions trapping any enemy or object that comes into contact with it. Then at the user's discretion the shadows pull in their quarry in back towards the user. Kuro Higanbana will continue to pull targets in until all targets are clustered together in a pile. At no extra cost, the user may at any point during this jutsu pause the inward pull or perform another four handseals and simply place their hand upon a surface and the targets will be pulled to that spot rather than the position of the target. Thus, allowing the user to move free of the trajectory of encroaching enemies.[break][break] Note: Maximum duration of this jutsu is dependent on the maximum duration of Kagemane no Jutsu. Once caught, targets are pulled into the user in two posts regardless of their distance from the user. This technique can be overpowered by a drastic release of chakra, such as the Gates or a Bijuu. User must know Kagemane no Jutsu. [break][break] Kage-Kubishibari no Jutsu (Shadow-Neck Binding Technique)[break] Rank: A[break] Range: Close (0m ~ 5m), Mid (5m ~ 10m)[break] Type: Offensive[break] Handseals: 3 (after shadow imitation has been successful)[break] Chakra Consumption: Mid[break] Kage Kubishibari no Jutsu is a Ninjutsu technique developed by the Nara clan. To perform the technique the clan member will first bind their target using the Kage Mane no Jutsu technique. Once the target can no longer move, they form the needed handseals to initiate this technique. The clan member uses their shadow to form a hand which will creep up their opponent’s body to their neck. Once the hand reaches the neck, it will constrict in such a manner so as to strangle the opponent. However, the clan member will need to be careful. If their target has a lot of chakra, they can turn back the shadow hand and prevent it from binding their neck.[break][break] Note: This technique can be overpowered by a drastic release of chakra, such as the Gates or a Bijuu. Likewise, this technique can be stand-offed by players with 2x the user’s chakra. User must know Kagemane no Jutsu. this technique has chocking strength similar to level 5 strength [break][break] Kage Surinukeru (Shadow Slip Through)[break] Rank: A[break] Range: Self (0m ~ 5m)[break] Type: Supplementary[break] Handseals: 5[break] Chakra Consumption: High[break] Using this advanced jutsu a clansmen is able to merge with their own shadow in a single second at a High cost of chakra. Once completely submerged within their shadow the user is immune to all attacks until they reemerge again. They may 'eject' themselves at any point of the shadows range. The user has free control of their shadow and may stretch it to half the maximum range of their Kagemane no Jutsu. Should their shadow merge with the shadow of a larger object the user may 'eject' from any point on that object or its shadow. At a maximum duration of two (2) posts this technique has a cool down of half the duration it was used. [break][break] Note: All ejections are instantaneous. While merged with their shadow the user is unable to be bind others with it. User must know Kagemane no Jutsu.[break] ulla [newclass=.believeBG]background-color:#fff;width:400px;padding-bottom:20px;border-radius:10px;box-shadow:#ccc 4px 4px 5px;[/newclass] [newclass=.believeHead]background-image:url(https://media.tenor.com/15hRuL5R4zoAAAAC/shikamaru-nara-power.gif);background-position:center center;border-radius:10px 10px 0 0;height:175px;-webkit-clip-path: polygon(0 0, 100% 0, 100% 100%, 0 75%);clip-path: polygon(0 0, 100% 0, 100% 100%, 0 75%);[/newclass] [newclass=.believeIcon]-webkit-transform:rotate(-39deg);float:left;margin-top:-70px;margin-left:50px;border:#fff 5px solid;background-color:#fff;[/newclass] [newclass=.believeIcon IMG]width:65px;[/newclass] [newclass=.believeBody]padding:20px 40px;font-family:arial;font-size:10px;text-align:justify;color:#3a3a3a;line-height:12px;[/newclass] [newclass=.believeBody b]color:#000;font-family:varela round;[/newclass] [newclass=.believeBody i]color:#888;[/newclass] [newclass=.believeButton]background-image:url(https://i.pinimg.com/originals/49/98/9e/49989e61e44b15452f882ce5f8ba1af6.gif);background-position:center center;-webkit-filter:grayscale(60%);height:40px;width:80%;border-radius:80px;box-shadow:#ccc 1px 1px 3px;color:#fff;line-height:40px;font-family:trebuchet ms;font-size:10px;text-transform:uppercase;[/newclass] [newclass=.believeButton a]color:#fff!important;font-weight:400!important;[/newclass] [googlefont=Varela Round]

One Day at a time

Prelude -
When the comforts of civilization begin to dull our senses, we must never forget that in the beginning, there was war. And war. And more war. Long before there were empires, there were humans consumed with greed and the hunger for power. Resources, territories, information—these were the forms of sustenance upon which we preyed. Today, we call such habits vices. Oh, how arrogant we have become! Are we not still impelled by those primordial emotions? Is the advent of war so far-fetched? But alas, for you to truly understand, we must dive deeper into this land’s half-forgotten past.
There was a time when might was the only law that humankind knew. Fearsome clans roamed throughout the land, seeking amenable grounds within which they could take root and opposing forces against whom they could test their mettle. Given the irregularity of nature’s bounty, certain regions appealed more than others, and dominion over such coveted territories became the spark that ignited the earliest inter-clan wars. These fierce, internecine affairs tended to conclude only when one side had decimated their competition into oblivion, and many clans of story were rendered extinct during this period.
The victors of war, having claimed their territories, often made truces with surrounding locals, offering protection in exchange for access to the yields of agriculture. Over time, certain communities emerged as more dominant than others, either due to numbers or sheer talent, and their rapid expansion would force smaller, neighboring communities to either collapse into their fold or be devastated. When the dust settled, humankind found itself divided into the five major territories that we are familiar with today. And was the bloodshed over? With our lands obtained and our bellies filled, were we finally content?
