When the comforts of civilization begin to dull our senses, we must never forget that in the beginning, there was war. And war. And more war. Long before there were empires, there were humans consumed with greed and the hunger for power. Resources, territories, information—these were the forms of sustenance upon which we preyed. Today, we call such habits vices. Oh, how arrogant we have become! Are we not still impelled by those primordial emotions? Is the advent of war so far-fetched? But alas, for you to truly understand, we must dive deeper into this land’s half-forgotten past.
There was a time when might was the only law that humankind knew. Fearsome clans roamed throughout the land, seeking amenable grounds within which they could take root and opposing forces against whom they could test their mettle. Given the irregularity of nature’s bounty, certain regions appealed more than others, and dominion over such coveted territories became the spark that ignited the earliest inter-clan wars. These fierce, internecine affairs tended to conclude only when one side had decimated their competition into oblivion, and many clans of story were rendered extinct during this period.
The victors of war, having claimed their territories, often made truces with surrounding locals, offering protection in exchange for access to the yields of agriculture. Over time, certain communities emerged as more dominant than others, either due to numbers or sheer talent, and their rapid expansion would force smaller, neighboring communities to either collapse into their fold or be devastated. When the dust settled, humankind found itself divided into the five major territories that we are familiar with today. And was the bloodshed over? With our lands obtained and our bellies filled, were we finally content?

[attr="class","believeBody"] Taijutsu is a basic form of techniques that typically does not require chakra, though chakra may be used to enhance its techniques. Taijutsu generally require no hand seals to perform, occasionally making use of certain stances or poses, and are much quicker to use than ninjutsu or genjutsu. Taijutsu is simply put: hand-to-hand combat. these do not take up a slot.[break][break]
Though it is often referenced to as an "Ancient Supreme Technique", Sennen Goroshi serves more as an insulting shock technique rather than a skilled Taijutsu technique. The ninja forms their hands into the seal of the tiger, and then jabs their fingers into the nether regions of their target. The result is shocking violation of the targets sanctity and often their launching in the air to stop the awkward feeling.[break][break]
A very basic but effective taijutsu attack, the Kaiten involves the user's leg in a reverse downward kick. After launching themselves into the air and begin to somersault, the user gains momentum within the chosen striking limb and come spinning down, laying their heels into the target's shoulders and head.[break][break]
Note: If this kick connects with the opponent’s head, they will be stunned for one full turn.[break][break]
A very deadly and efficient taijutsu attack. While at an elevated position, the user will grab their opponent from behind. Firmly locking themselves to their back, the user will then lock their ankles onto the opponent's neck in order to get their body rigid. Finally, on the descent, the user proceeds to drive and plant the victim head first into the ground. Essentially a belly to back pile-driver, the move can provide a great concussion to his opponent's head.[break][break]
An effective aerial attack, the user first begins to maneuver to their opponent in a vulnerable aerial position. While shadowing them, the user will attempt to strike them from a vulnerable angle. First, they will strike as a feint in order to draw their target's attention and defense to one area. Then, a true strike is made towards the most undefended area, preceded by several more until the user violently begins knocking them down and towards the ground. As the enemy falls back to the earth, the user will deftly rotate their body around to deliver a full force kick to their chest.[break][break]
Note: The maximum amount of hits, not including the final heel drop, is five hits.[break][break]
Shokubutsu Tane (Sow Seed)[break] Rank: C[break] Range: Close (0m ~ 5m)[break] Type: Offensive[break] Handseals: --[break] Stamina Consumption: Low[break]
The strength of the polearm lies in that unlike other weapons, it neither needs to be sheathed nor does it maintain a heavy weight while being used with two hands. The user is able to suddenly surprise their opponent with a flurry of forward thrusts to halt even the bravest charger, and gore the most foolish.[break][break]
Note: The type of damage is dependent on the weapon used and the effect this technique has is mostly dependent on the way it is used. The user will perform two strikes in one action, however, if the user is a Taijutsu Primary the amount of strikes performed will double.[break][break]
Hasamu Bara (Clipping Thorns)[break] Rank: B[break] Range: Close (0m ~ 5m)[break] Type: Defensive[break] Handseals: --[break] Stamina Consumption: Mid[break]
A simple yet efficient technique, the user simply raises their spear and rotates it in a helicopter fashion, effectively warding off borne projectiles. [break][break]
Note: Up to 15 projectiles can be defended against per use.[break][break]
The user, to avoid what seems like a dangerous attack, plants the point of their spear in the ground and raises themselves in a near-instant fashion to the top of the end of the spear, leaving them in the air and the pole of their spear supporting them, like a circus act of balancing.[break][break]
Note: Useful against techniques that compromise the user's footing.[break][break]
Tou (Sickle)[break] Rank: B[break] Range: Close (0m ~ 5m)[break] Type: Offensive[break] Handseals: --[break] Stamina Consumption: Mid.[break]
Following Minori, the user will pull their polearm from underneath them and over their head, slamming it down onto their opponent while they quickly descend toward the ground.[break][break]
Note: This technique has a 25% chance to shatter the target’s bones of whatever area the user strikes.[break][break]
A simple feint where the user feints an upward diagonal strike with the tip of their polearm, allowing the momentum to slam the opposite end into the opponent's shin or ankle[break][break]
Note: This technique has a 25% chance to decrease the target's mobility for the remainder of the thread.[break][break]
An immediate violent twist of the spear along with an explosive full body thrust forward. The user produces a spear shaped blast of air in a single movement, capable of devastating an area in the blink of an eye.[break][break]
Note: This attack can be used to either force the target ten meters away or strike at an opponent within it's range. Suiyou has penetrative properties that will destroy C-rank and below defenses. Lastly, Suiyou can be used to supplement any other polearm techniques the user may know by simply tacking on the required chakra cost per strike delivered.[break][break]
Hien (Flying Swallow)[break] Rank: B[break] Range: Close (0m ~ 5m)[break] Type: Offensive[break] Handseals: -[break] Stamina Consumption: High to cast, Mid to sustain.[break]
By consciously feeding their chakra into any bladed weapon, the user will manage to extend the length of the weapon by providing an extra extension of visible chakra. This creation will yield an extremely sharp edge that functions like the normal blade itself. By seeing only the user's bladed weaponry, the opponent may miss the Hien and misjudge how far they need to move to avoid an incoming strike. As a result, even if they manage to avoid the metal portion of the blade, the chakra portion may cut into them as well.[break][break]
Note: The maximum length of these chakra blades is six inches.[break][break]
By consciously feeding their chakra into their palms, the user will quickly rush forward, driving the charged appendage forward and into their opponent. The result is devastating, with all the accumulated power of the palm being unloaded onto the user's victim. Finally, with all the chakra released, the opponent's body is knocked back several feet, left to rag-doll and wither.[break][break]
Note: This ability can knock a single target back up to two meters.[break][break]
Lariat[break] Rank: A[break] Range: Close (0 - 5m)[break] Type: Offensive[break] Handseals: ---[break] Stamina Consumption: High (x2 High optional)[break]
A basic but extremely powerful Taijutsu attack based on basic maneuvers, the attack begins by the user positioning their body and crooking their dominant arm back before either rushing at their enemy and slamming their arm into them or simply hitting their target from a static position. The sheer force is easily able to knock out anyone that it hits in the chest, neck, or head, and numb any other limb for a considerable amount of time. The very nature of this attack allows it to be incredibly versatile and capable of adding in other outside elements to strengthen the attack further, such as the Raiton no Yoroi or a Bijuu Cloak. Lastly, if used in conjunction with a partner and both pay the x2 High cost, the Double Lariat carries enough power to -pop- someone's head off if the attack is successful.[break][break]
Note: If the blow land on the chest, neck or head, the target will be knocked unconscious for the remainder of the thread. If it hits a limb that limb will be numb for three turns. Both users must know Lariat in order to perform the Double Lariat. [break][break]
Delivers a powerful open palmed strike to the humerus, radius, or the celiac plexus. The result of the high powered strike will jar the network of nerve endings within the body, causing disorientation and confusion lasting some time.[break][break]
