When the comforts of civilization begin to dull our senses, we must never forget that in the beginning, there was war. And war. And more war. Long before there were empires, there were humans consumed with greed and the hunger for power. Resources, territories, information—these were the forms of sustenance upon which we preyed. Today, we call such habits vices. Oh, how arrogant we have become! Are we not still impelled by those primordial emotions? Is the advent of war so far-fetched? But alas, for you to truly understand, we must dive deeper into this land’s half-forgotten past.
There was a time when might was the only law that humankind knew. Fearsome clans roamed throughout the land, seeking amenable grounds within which they could take root and opposing forces against whom they could test their mettle. Given the irregularity of nature’s bounty, certain regions appealed more than others, and dominion over such coveted territories became the spark that ignited the earliest inter-clan wars. These fierce, internecine affairs tended to conclude only when one side had decimated their competition into oblivion, and many clans of story were rendered extinct during this period.
The victors of war, having claimed their territories, often made truces with surrounding locals, offering protection in exchange for access to the yields of agriculture. Over time, certain communities emerged as more dominant than others, either due to numbers or sheer talent, and their rapid expansion would force smaller, neighboring communities to either collapse into their fold or be devastated. When the dust settled, humankind found itself divided into the five major territories that we are familiar with today. And was the bloodshed over? With our lands obtained and our bellies filled, were we finally content?

Ju Kenshi, or Heavy Blade Skill, is a Taijutsu Fighting Style similar to Kenjutsu in its basic approach to swordplay. However, where Kenjutsu deals with conventional weapons of the katana-sized realm, Ju Kenshin allows for those strong enough to wield massive blades to do so with style. Through sheer strength and honed skill, the user of Ju Kenshi learns with time to steer their heavy blade as if they were wielding a gentle brush, it's tip wet with ink and ready to paint a most elegant picture.[break][break]
Though heavy weapons can be cumbersome in the hands of the inexperienced, a Ju Kenshi master can make magic out of these otherwise unconsidered blades for conduct. Unwieldy no more when in the hands of an expert, Ju Kenshi users and masters are individuals truly to be feared..[break][break]
RESTRICTIONS[break] 1. By choosing this weapon-style of taijutsu, users cannot use any other form of weapon-based taijutsu. This style requires the user to dedicate themselves to mastering the art of heavy weaponry\great swords, thusly making them highly inefficient at wielding smaller swords and such.[break] 2. Must Have 4+ Strength to use this style[break][break]
MUCHIKAISAI [IGNORANTLY HELD][break] Due to the immense weight of the swords typically used with the Ju Kenshi style, practitioners are almost forced to use both hands to enhance the accuracy and power behind their monstrous techniques. However, those who have reached this level of mastery have become so fine-tuned with the style, as whole, they are now able to wield their blade(s) with any grip they feel necessary (one-handed, reversed, etc.), and execute all sword techniques without suffering any added strain or further impairing of their mobility or effectiveness.[break][break]
HOSHIUCHIKUDAKU [SHATTER STAR][break] True masters of the Ju Kenshi style have learned the full intricacies of charging and loading their weapons, and gain increased capability within the art. Twice per thread, those who've gained this mastery can completely ignore the charge time for the usage of a single Ju Kenshi technique, allowing them to perform any of their specialized fighting style attacks near instantly. The user is restricted to c-rank and lower Ju Kenshi techniques for two turns.[break][break]
MUSUMEHAGI [SPINNER LANCET][break] After a practitioner has learned to wield their might weapons without the assistance of both hands, everything beyond that point is simply an additional wealth of power. The devastation caused by a single hand is nothing when compared to the ferocity of a Ju Kenshi master choosing to use both their hands. Whenever a master of this level uses a normal strike - as in a non-styled swing of their weapon - or Ju Kenshi technique with both hands (after obtaining the first mastery), the effects are doubled (speed, power, etc.). This does not apply to the Senchineru Taidenkougeki (Charged Attack Sentinel), but merely the sub-techniques it umbrellas.[break][break]
The most basic principal of all Ju Kenshi techniques, and the reason their enormous blades seem so easily wielded in the hands of a master. One who has learned this technique charges their hands with chakra to lighten the physical strain of wielding such cumbersome weapons, then loads that charge directly into the blade at the moment of attack, drastically increasing its apparent weight, as well as its destructive potential, and lending credence to the title "Heavy" Blade Skill. Due to their sheer power, the user sacrifices speed in order to deliver attacks that are incredibly difficult to adequately defend against. Senchineru Taidenkōgeki must always be used first if the user wishes to perform specific Ju Kenshi techniques, but is sufficient on its own to create intensely powerful basic attacks. Any form of Senchineru Taidenkōgeki known to the practitioner can be used in conjunction with the fighting style techniques, so long as it is equal to or greater than the technique used.[break][break]
Note: The charging process is disrupted when physical contact by anything other than the user is made with their weapon (the user cannot Charge while in the middle of defending/attacking with the blade). While charging, the user cannot also utilize the Taijutsu Primary movement speed perk.[break][break]
The cost of Ju Kenshi techniques is added onto the cost offered for this charge ability.[break][break] Charging a weapon with a Low increment of chakra doubles its weight; charging a weapon with a Mid increment of chakra triples its weight; and charging a weapon with a 2x High increment of chakra quadruples its weight. However, it should be noted that the user does not feel this change and wield the blade as if it were its relatively light (as effectively as one can wield a traditional sword, like a katana).[break][break]
The user charges their weapon before intentionally striking their opponents blade, using the sudden increase in weight to redirect the force of blocking/parrying maneuvers and cause a target to damage themselves with their own weapon. The purpose of this technique is quite literally to overpower an opponent into harming themselves, and can only be used to that end, meaning simple deflection in a direction that would not result in the opponents blade coming in contact with their own body cannot be achieved.[break][break]
After a brief charge, the user allows the flat side of their massive blade to be loaded with chakra, and pushes back against attacks targeting any vital focal point with great force in order to defend against them. The added weight of the Ju Kenshi practitioners strike is used in this manner specifically to break an opponents grip on the hilt of their sword, to break their hand/leg, etc. and can cause a moderate amount of damage due to the strength of the recoil.[break][break]
Note: This technique can only be used against piercing/stabbing/blunt taijutsu attacks attempting to concentrate damage into a single point against the Ju Kenshi practitioner.[break][break]
An upward sweeping slash, where the enhanced weight behind the strike is directed to knock an opponent into the air on contact, as well as setting them up for the next attack. If this attack successfully connects, its effects take place whether the opponent blocks or not, though successfully blocking reduces the 'knock-up' distance by 50%.[break][break]
Note: By default, the user can launch a victim one meter into the air. However, for a Mid increment of chakra, the user can increase this distance to three meters.[break][break]
After a brief charge, the users grips their blade tightly and twirls in place, creating a vicious circle of bladed slashes, striking their opponent multiple times as they become a veritable spinning top of destruction, aimed to cut foes completely in half at the waist.[break][break]
Note: By offering a 2x Mid increment of chakra, instead of the base one Mid, the user’s spin can deal five strikes.[break][break]
The user slams the full weight of their blade in a downward diagonal strike aimed specifically to drive an opponent into the ground. The flat edge of their heavy sword is used to assist in the pushing motion, causing significant blunt force trauma and a 'knock down' effect, where the victim’s body creates its own impact crater, severely hampering their next attempted movements.[break][break]
Note: By offering a 2x Mid increment of chakra, instead of the base one Mid, the user can create crater that is five meters deep. This ‘knock down’ effect can, of course, only be formed on surfaces which would logically allow for it.[break][break]
Wabisuke (The Penitent One)[break] Rank: A[break] Range: Close (0m ~ 5m)[break] Type: Supplementary[break] Handseals: -[break] Stamina Consumption: High [break] When making contact with an opponent’s weapon after the appropriate charge, the user is able to load that charge directly into an enemy's blade, but with a truly awe-inspiring twist. The opponents weapon, not the Ju Kenshi practitioner’s, has its weight affected, and when used in conjunction with the S Rank Senchineru Taidenkōgeki, can quadruple the weight of their blade, making all but the mightiest of foes unable to wield their own swords.[break][break]
Note: This technique can backfire on the user if used against another practitioner of the Ju Kenshi style, who decides to counter with this same technique. Affects an enemy’s weapon only; it cannot be used on parts of the body, accessories, etc. If successful, the victim’s weapon will remain at this weight for a total of five posts. [break][break]
By swinging their blade towards an opponent with great force and loading their charged chakra into the very tip of their sword, the Ju Kenshi practitioner uses this extra momentum to boost a mighty leap towards an enemy within 10 meters at roughly 3 times their base speed, crashing their weapon into the body of their foe with the ability to break bone on impact if not properly defended against. This is not an incomprehensibly fast movement however, but if it can be combined with a distraction, has truly devastating potential, allowing them to close distance between themselves and more mid-ranged fighters quite effectively. [break][break]
Note: This technique can only be used with the 2x High version of the Charged Attack Sentinel technique. The speed granted by this technique does not stack with the Taijutsu Primary speed bonus. [break][break]
Holding their enormous blade horizontally as if it were a bat or a club, the user swings with all their might as the loaded chakra courses through the blade allowing its increased weight to create a massive knockback, the sheer force of which can even take opponents who attempt to block the strike off of their feet. This creates a visible shockwave of force which easily sends foes flying, and if used in conjunction with the bladed edge of the weapon as opposed to the flat of the blade, is one of the most deadly techniques in the Ju Kenshi arsenal.[break][break]
Note: This technique can only be used with the 2x High version of the Charged Attack Sentinel technique. Furthermore, this technique is capable of knocking up to three enemies a total of ten meters away.[break][break]
Grants the user the knowledge of how to charge and hold enough chakra to perform more than one Ju Kenshi technique in succession, allowing them to temporarily overcome the restriction of contact which would normally disrupt the Senchineru Taidenkōgeki technique. This knowledge can be very dangerous, as the chakra cost of techniques performed back to back stacks, as well as the total charge time, but given enough opportunity to prepare, this allows for a truly terrifying number of combination moves capable of slaughtering almost any enemy force one faces.
Note: This technique costs 600 EXP to learn; there are no exceptions to this rule. With this, the user can charge and hold the chakra to perform four Ju Kenshin techniques in succession. The charge times and chakra cost stack, but so does the weight of the weapon in question
