[nospaces] [attr="class","believeBG"] [attr="class","believeHead"] [attr="class","believeIcon"] [attr="class","believeBody"] Boxing is an ancient style of fighting dating back to the first men to walk upon land and is one of the most celebrated sports that has become ingrained within several communities, ninja and non-ninja alike. Boxing is possibly one of the most diverse fighting styles due to the many ways one can use the style, they can chose to be a big brawler relying on a heavy hits, a welterweight who manages to balance his strength and speed or a straight up featherweight who throws his punches quicker than he can see them. [break] [break] Modern Boxing has developed into something new and exciting that puts itself ahead of old boxing, with the use of chakra, tricks and new gear there are now boxers who are pushing both the sport and the fighting style to its limits whilst creating new boundaries to break everyday. [break][break] RESTRICTIONS[break] 1. This style is non-restrictive in terms of who may learn it however to learn any of the masteries you must be a Taijutsu Master. [break] 2. Techniques do not require gloves however it is preferred if you do use them.[break] IT'S ALL ABOUT THE GEAR![break] After some complex training the user has finally mastered the ability to distribute chakra within their hand so that they can maintain the levels of balance and strength the two modern metal variants of boxing gloves. Allows access the Titanium Boxing gloves and Steel Heat Resistant & Non Conductive Gloves. [break][break] BORN NATURAL![break] The boxer is now so adept at boxing that they are capable of completely erasing the chakra cost of one technique by embedding it into a combo. To erase the cost and embed it into a combo the boxer must first use a technique (e.g a b-rank) then if they were to perform a boxing technique in the next post of an equal or lower rank they are capable of removing the latter of the technique's cost altogether. Can only be done once per page in a thread. The maximum rank of a technique this can apply to is a B-rank, it's increased to A-rank once you unlock the third tier of masteries.[break][break] THE COMBOS![break] The ability to box is something obsolete to someone who is capable of obtaining this mastery they now are seeking ways to induce deadly effects with as little effort as possible. With the third mastery that's possible. Once per page in a thread the boxer can replicate the amount of damage or the amount of defense provided by a technique used in the previous post. For example the boxer uses a fatal S-rank technique in post #2, in post #3 he uses the third tier mastery and performs a punch/block (non-technique) that replicates the damage/defense that the S-rank provided. However the subsequent punch/block will cost as much as the one used before it.[break][break] Boxing Gloves[break] Rank: D[break] Description: Standard gloves issued to professional boxers and amateur alike. They possess some variation as some are made from cowhide, goathide or even synthetic leather however all the materials are practically the same and hold no differences. The inside of the glove is a non-absorbent of water, allowing the insides of the gloves to stay dry as sweat and such trickles down your arm. The gloves provide no resistances or attacking bonuses. [break][break] Price: 500 Ryo [break][break] Steel Heat Resistant Non-Conductive Boxing Gloves (SHRNCBG)[break] Rank: A[break] Description: These gloves are the latest innovation in boxing, whilst not used in professional boxing yet they're becoming more popular with customers, they greatly enhance the user's ability to block. The Steel Heat Resistant Non-Conductive Boxing Gloves variant of gloves give the wielder a x0.5 endurance increase when performing defensive boxing techniques.[break][break] Special: B-rank durability. By allowing them to not hinder the speed of the wielder at all the gloves had to be impaired so that they could only provide the bonus to boxing techniques & basic blocks. Katon and Raiton attacks blocked by these gloves are lowered by one rank. [break][break] Price: 15,000 Ryo[break][break] Titanium Boxing Gloves[break] Rank: A[break] Description:[break] These gloves are the latest innovation in boxing, whilst not used in professional boxing yet they're becoming more popular with customers, they greatly enhance the user's ability to fight. The titanium variant of gloves give the wielder a significant boost to the strength that their boxing techniques posses, providing a x0.5 strength increase to all offensive boxing techniques. [break][break] Special: B-Rank durability. By allowing them to not hinder the speed of the wielder at all the gloves had to be impaired so that they could only provide the bonus to boxing techniques & basic punches. [break][break] Price: 10,000 Ryo.[break][break] Flicker Jab[break] Rank: D[break] Range:: Close (0m ~ 5m)[break] Type: Offensive [break] Handseals: ---[break] Stamina Consumption: x1 Mid[break] The flicker jab, a technique that originated from boxers that liked to use underhand tactics has now developed into one of the most well known and basic techniques of the Shinobi branch of boxing techniques. The Flicker Jab is a simplistic jab that deviates into a hook, sounds easy right? However the flicker jab requires a small amount of chakra to be imbued into the fist, this means that when they deviate from the course there is an afterimage left behind, suggesting the user may still be going for a jab. This often done to confuse an opponent.[break][break] Note: The after image is purely aesthetic, it will disperse as soon as anything makes contact with it. The after image only lasts for the post it's created in. [break][break] Bang-Bang![break] Rank: D[break] Range:: Close (0m ~ 5m)[break] Type: Offensive [break] Handseals: ---[break] Stamina Consumption: x1 Mid[break] The "Bang-Bang" is a technique that relies on a delay between the punch connecting and a burst of chakra shortly after the punch connects. Firstly the user puts a small amount of chakra within their arm and thrusts it forward as a jab/straight (must be one of the two, anything that involves the arm bending would warp the delivery of chakra), the small amount of chakra within their arm suddenly rushes towards the fist once it's stopped in its tracks (aka when it makes contact with its target) then delivers a small burst that is equal to half of the damage the original punch did (someone with x2.0 strength would have the small burst deal x1.0 strength). [break][break] Note: The chakra only lasts in your arm for the post its formed. [break][break] The Ol' One Two[break] Rank: C[break] Range:: Close (0m ~ 5m)[break] Type: Offensive [break] Handseals: ---[break] Stamina Consumption: x1 Mid[break] The One Two is a classic boxing move in both shinobi and non-ninja boxing. It's pretty basic, you jab with one hand then deliver a straight with the opposite hand, effective whilst remaining simple. However this rendition of it is unique as it is quicker than the original. First you land a simple jab with one hand then through proper distribution of weight and chakra you deliver a straight that travels x0.5 faster than you're capable of going (e.g if you can travel x4.0 faster than the average ninja then this punch would be delivered at x4.5). [break][break] Note: The Jab has to connect, regardless of where it connects or if it's blocked, as long as it connects with the target than the straight will be delivered quicker than usual. [break][break] Relentless[break] Rank: C[break] Range:: Close (0m ~ 5m)[break] Type: Offensive [break] Handseals: ---[break] Stamina Consumption: x2 Mid[break] The flurry of punches dubbed 'Relentless' is one of the more physically demanding boxing techniques, like most boxing techniques, it's simple conceptually, you throw some punches. 8 to be exact, 8 hooks to anything above the belt. Whilst throwing these punches you begin to become more aware of your surroundings and your foe, gaining a x0.5 to your counter stat, the barrage of punches lasts a post and the buff kicks in the same post as the technique is performed and the buff lasts the duration [break][break] Note: At least three of the punches have to connect for the buff to apply. [break][break] Rhythm Build Up[break] Rank: B[break] Range:: Close (0m ~ 5m) Type: Defensive [break] Handseals: ---[break] Stamina Consumption: x1 High upon receiving the buff [break] In Boxing Rhythm is huge, it's one of the reasons as to why skipping rope is so essential to training, getting a rhythm of both footwork and punches is vital. For every 3 basic punch you land the fourth one will give you a x1 worth of endurance for a post as you're becoming more and more stable in the battle. [break][break] Note: In order for the buff to apply the three punches must connect in separate posts. [break][break] Fluid Block[break] Rank: B[break] Range:: Close (0m ~ 5m)[break] Type: Defensive[break] Handseals: ---[break] Stamina Consumption: x2 Mid[break] Fluid Block is an ability that is incredibly hard to pull off but just as beneficial. Conceptually it is simple, fill your arms and hands with chakra to help increase your endurance while you block things however it is much harder to manipulate your chakra to do this when it comes to peforming. The effects of the fluid block are as long as you're on the ground (you can move on the ground) you send all kinetic force received into your body then into the ground, reducing the damage either host takes. This ends up making all taijutsu and physical attacks hitting you with x-1.5 strength, so a character with x2 strength punching the fluid block would end up dealing x0.5 strength worth of damage to you. [break] Note: If not on the ground when blocking then the technique does nothing. Sharp Weaponry such as kunai or swords are not effected by the block (unless the user has the defensive modern gloves). [break] Fluid Leg[break] Rank: B[break] Range:: Close (0m ~ 5m)[break] Type: Offensive [break] Handseals: ---[break] Stamina Consumption: x2 Mid[break] One of the few pieces of footwork that required a technique, the fluid leg. Same principle as fluid block, fill your lower half with chakra to absorb a blow, the chakra that absorbed the blow goes through your body and into the ground, reducing the injury you'd get. This ends up making all taijutsu and physical attacks hitting you with x-1 strength, so a character with x2 strength punching the fluid leg would end up dealing x1 strength worth of damage to you. [break] Note: If not on the ground when blocking then the technique does nothing. Sharp Weaponry such as kunai or swords are not effected by the block (unless the user has defensive wear on their legs. [break][break] C-C-Combo Creator[break] Rank: A[break] Range:: Close (0m ~ 5m)[break] Type: Offensive[break] Handseals: ---[break] Stamina Consumption: x2 Mid (per hit) [break] C-C-Combo Creator at first glance is weak but when you look at what it does it's arguably one of the best techniques a boxer can have in his arsenal. The C-C-Combo Creator (CCCC for short) is just a regular punch infused with chakra (of any kind, jab, hook etc...), it does nothing special on the first time but for every consecutive time it's used (consecutive in this case meaning within the same post or the next post) you gain a x0.5 boost to both strength and speed of the CCCC[break][break] Note: The punch must connect in order to get the boost. It caps at 1.5x Speed and Strength. To upkeep the buff you must keep hitting. [break][break] C-C-Combo Breaker[break] Rank: A[break] Range:: Close (0m ~ 5m)[break] Type: Offensive[break] Handseals: ---[break] Stamina Consumption: x2 Mid (per every two hits) [break] C-C-Combo Breaker much like C-C-Combo Creator is a boxing technique that relies on a combo. For every consecutive taijutsu techniques/melee attack you're hit by, you gain x0.5 Endurance and 0.5x counter. Each hit/taijutsu technique must be within one post of each other hitting in order for the buff to stack up. Can be used in conjunction with Fluid Block. Combo breaker applies to all attacks, regardless of whether or not they're blunt or taijutsu. [break][break] Note: To upkeep the buff you must continue to be hit. [break][break] Big Punch[break] Rank: S[break] Range:: Close (0m ~ 5m)[break] Type: Offensive[break] Handseals: ---[break] Stamina Consumption: x1 Massive[break] Like CCCC, Big Punch is not restricted to one type of punch, it can take any form. It however will be visible as it will cause the fist(s) it's being used in to glow a bright blue colour. Like most boxing moves it's simple conceptually, if it hits the head you're immediately dead. If it hits a vital organ you die in three posts. That is assuming it makes direct contact it will kill the person. It will ravage any limb it comes in contact with and render it useless. A difference of x2 between your strength and the opponent's endurance means the blow will take 3 posts to kill them if it hits the head, will take 5 posts to knock them out if you hit a vital organ as the body will be unable to cope with it and it will only fracture and tear muscles. If there's a x3 difference between your strength and their endurance it will act as if you were throwing a normal punch and there was no difference between your strength and their endurance. x3.5 or higher and the attack will be ineffective. [break][break] Note: Can only be performed once every 3 pages of a thread. [break][break] Big Block[break] Rank: S[break] Range:: Close (0m ~ 5m)[break] Type: Defensive[break] Handseals: ---[break] Stamina Consumption: x1 Massive, 1x Massive & 2x High if the block is with the lower half of the body.[break] This requires just as much if not more precision in chakra control than Big Punch, with a simple block, regardless of which limb you're blocking with (bar the head) you can essentially go out unharmed from any attack. Any A-Rank or below taijutsu attack will not affect you at all as chakra is gathered in the area struck and absorbs all the damage then sends it out in a burst behind you, inflicting the same amount of damage you would've taken onto whatever is behind you. On S-rank taijutsu techniques its effectiveness is gimped majorly, a killing blow would be capable of leaving serious damage but nothing immediately fatal. For normal attacks, the strength of the attack is reduced to a quarter, so if the foes strength was x4.0, they'd end up inflicting as much damage to you as if they had x1.0 strength. [break][break] Note: Due to Boxer's legs not being as confident in blocking they must expend an extra x2 high on top of the base massive.[break][break] ulla [newclass=.believeBG]background-color:#fff;width:400px;padding-bottom:20px;border-radius:10px;box-shadow:#ccc 4px 4px 5px;[/newclass] [newclass=.believeHead]background-image:url(https://th.bing.com/th/id/OIP.bcu45nf_Dhp4V96ZW4mRhQHaE8?pid=ImgDet&rs=1);background-position:center center;border-radius:10px 10px 0 0;height:175px;-webkit-clip-path: polygon(0 0, 100% 0, 100% 100%, 0 75%);clip-path: polygon(0 0, 100% 0, 100% 100%, 0 75%);[/newclass] [newclass=.believeIcon]-webkit-transform:rotate(-39deg);float:left;margin-top:-70px;margin-left:50px;border:#fff 5px solid;background-color:#fff;[/newclass] [newclass=.believeIcon IMG]width:65px;[/newclass] [newclass=.believeBody]padding:20px 40px;font-family:arial;font-size:10px;text-align:justify;color:#3a3a3a;line-height:12px;[/newclass] [newclass=.believeBody b]color:#000;font-family:varela round;[/newclass] [newclass=.believeBody i]color:#888;[/newclass] [newclass=.believeButton]background-image:url(https://i.pinimg.com/originals/49/98/9e/49989e61e44b15452f882ce5f8ba1af6.gif);background-position:center center;-webkit-filter:grayscale(60%);height:40px;width:80%;border-radius:80px;box-shadow:#ccc 1px 1px 3px;color:#fff;line-height:40px;font-family:trebuchet ms;font-size:10px;text-transform:uppercase;[/newclass] [newclass=.believeButton a]color:#fff!important;font-weight:400!important;[/newclass] [googlefont=Varela Round]

One Day at a time

Prelude -
When the comforts of civilization begin to dull our senses, we must never forget that in the beginning, there was war. And war. And more war. Long before there were empires, there were humans consumed with greed and the hunger for power. Resources, territories, information—these were the forms of sustenance upon which we preyed. Today, we call such habits vices. Oh, how arrogant we have become! Are we not still impelled by those primordial emotions? Is the advent of war so far-fetched? But alas, for you to truly understand, we must dive deeper into this land’s half-forgotten past.
There was a time when might was the only law that humankind knew. Fearsome clans roamed throughout the land, seeking amenable grounds within which they could take root and opposing forces against whom they could test their mettle. Given the irregularity of nature’s bounty, certain regions appealed more than others, and dominion over such coveted territories became the spark that ignited the earliest inter-clan wars. These fierce, internecine affairs tended to conclude only when one side had decimated their competition into oblivion, and many clans of story were rendered extinct during this period.
The victors of war, having claimed their territories, often made truces with surrounding locals, offering protection in exchange for access to the yields of agriculture. Over time, certain communities emerged as more dominant than others, either due to numbers or sheer talent, and their rapid expansion would force smaller, neighboring communities to either collapse into their fold or be devastated. When the dust settled, humankind found itself divided into the five major territories that we are familiar with today. And was the bloodshed over? With our lands obtained and our bellies filled, were we finally content?
