[nospaces] [attr="class","believeBG"] [attr="class","believeHead"] [attr="class","believeIcon"] [attr="class","believeBody"] Kyuudou, or "Archery", is the art, practice, or skill of propelling arrows with the use of a bow. Archery has historically been used for hunting and combat, as its versatility, range and ease of use makes it an ideal art to master for any combat orientated person. A person who participates in archery is typically known as an "archer" or "bowman", and one who is fond of or an expert at archery can be referred to as a "toxophilite". Although archery began with a traditional bow, time and technology has produce more advancements, such as shortbows, longbows, and even compound bows in tactical combat.[break][break] While generally used in a one on one scenario, Kyuudou also one of the most proficient styles to use in a war scenario or when outnumbered. The first ranged style of warfare to come about with any degree of effectiveness, it's age has allowed it to grow immensely since creation. While once being as simple as pulling a bow, it now incorporates highly technical maneuvers and incredible feats of skill.[break][break] RESTRICTIONS[break] 1. Way of the Watcher is open to any and all shinobi. Way of the Kamikaze is only available to Taijutsu Primaries that have mastered Way of the Watcher. [break][break] WARMONGER[break] The Archer has become so adept at the skill of archery that his aim stays true throughout any onslaught. The Archer can now fire any bow while moving without suffering a range penalty.[break][break] WARLORD[break] The Archery has launched arrows from a bow so many times that the process of doing so has become as intuitive as breathing. The default nock and fire rate for all bows is lowered by one second. This skill cannot be used with crossbows.[break][break] WARGASM[break] The Archer is now one of the elite- one of the few in history to have truly mastered the bow and arrow. For this individual, archery is no longer just a tool for killing, it is an art form. The Archer can now perform two Way of the Watcher techniques simultaneously.[break][break] 50 lbs. Shortbow [break] Rank: C-Rank[break] Type:Primary / Ranged[break] Description: A deceptively simple weapon comprised of a carved piece of wood and a string, the bow is one of the most ancient weapons made by man. By using a combination of leverage, torque and flexibility, the bow is able to launch projectiles at a deadly speed and over large distances. The 50 lbs. short-bow has a default firing range of 55 meters; this range is lowered by 50% when the user fires while running, jumping, riding on an animal or performing other aggressive movements. The bow has a default nock and fire rate of 1 arrow per every 2 seconds, and discharges said projectile faster than its Longbow counterpart.[break][break] Cost: 5,000 Ryo[break][break] 25 lbs. Longbow[break] Rank: C-Rank[break] Type: Primary / Ranged[break] Description: A deceptively simple weapon comprised of a carved piece of wood and a string, the bow is one of the most ancient weapons made by man. By using a combination of leverage, torque and flexibility, the bow is able to launch projectiles at a deadly speed and over large distances. The 25 lbs. longbow has a default range of 70 meters, and can not be fired while running, jumping, riding on an animal or performing other aggressive movements.. The longbow has a default nock and fire rate of 1 arrow per 4 seconds, and fires considerably slower than its Shortbow counterpart. [break][break] Cost: 5,000 Ryo[break][break] 75 lbs. Shortbow[break] Rank: B-Rank[break] Type: Primary / Ranged[break] Description: A deceptively simple weapon comprised of a carved piece of wood and a string, the bow is one of the most ancient weapons made by man. By using a combination of leverage, torque and flexibility, the bow is able to launch projectiles at a deadly speed and over large distances. The 75 lbs. short-bow has a default range of 65 meters; this range is lowered by 75% when the user fires while running, jumping, riding on an animal or performing other aggressive movements. The 75 lbs. short-bow has a default nock and fire rate of 1 arrow per 3 seconds, and discharges said projectiles faster than its Longbow counterpart.[break] Cost: 25,000 Ryo[break][break] 50 lbs. Longbow[break] Rank: B-Rank[break] Type: Primary / Ranged[break] Description: A deceptively simple weapon comprised of a carved piece of wood and a string, the bow is one of the most ancient weapons made by man. By using a combination of leverage, torque and flexibility, the bow is able to launch projectiles at a deadly speed and over large distances. The 50 lbs. longbow has a default range of 90 meters, and can not be fired while running, jumping, riding on an animal or performing other aggressive movements. The longbow has a default nock and fire rate of 1 arrow per 5 seconds, and fires considerably slower than its Shortbow counterpart. [break][break] Cost: 25,000 Ryo[break][break] Crossbow[break] Rank: A-Rank[break] Type: Primary / Ranged [break] Description: A crossbow is essentially a bow mounted to a stock, with a mechanical string-drawing mechanism, that fires bolts instead of arrows. Because the bow-string is drawn with mechanical force instead of by hand, the bolt is able to be fired with more force, allowing it to travel at farther distances and at faster speeds. The crossbow has a default range of 50 meters; this range is lowered by 25% when the user fires while running, jumping, riding on an animal or performing other aggressive movements. The crossbow has a nock and fire rate of 1 bolt every 5 seconds, and fires considerably faster than all non-crossbows.[break][break] Cost: 50,000 Ryo[break][break] Wrist-Mounted Crossbow[break] Rank: C-Rank[break] Type: Secondary / Ranged[break] Description: The wrist-mounted crossbow is essentially just a much smaller version of normal crossbow; small enough to be tied to one's forearm or wrist with thick straps. Because of its smaller size, a wrist-mounted crossbow is much weaker than a normal sized one. In addition, because only one hand can be used to re-load it, it takes longer to reload. The wrist-mounted crossbow has a default range of ten-meters; this range is not lowered by movement. The wrist-mounted crossbow has a nock and fire rate of 1 bolt every 5 seconds. Due to its unique design however (to fit the wrist), slightly slower than your standard twenty-five pound Longbow.[break][break] Cost: 5,000 Ryo[break][break] Repeating Crossbow[break] Rank: S-Rank[break] Type: Primary / Ranged[break] Description: The repeating crossbow follows similar mechanics to a regular crossbow. The primary difference lies in the complex clip and chambering mechanism that gives the repeating crossbow its name. Standard repeating crossbows come with a clip large enough to contain three bolts. Each time the crossbow is fired, a pressure-sensitive spring located at the bottom of the clip pushes a bolt into place within the firing-chamber, located at the base of the crossbow. This process is near instant, saving the user time that would normally be spent reloading another bolt. The only delay between firing comes from resetting the crossbow's string; however, a sophisticated lever-action system requires the user to only pull on a small handle jutting from the top of the crossbow in order to reset the string. Thus, a user armed with this weapon has an almost unprecedented rate of fire at his disposal. The repeating crossbow has a default range of 40 meters; this range is lowered by 25% when the user fires while running, jumping, riding on an animal or performing other aggressive movements. The repeating crossbow has a default nock and firing rate of 1 bolt per every .5 seconds, and fires at the same speed of your fifty pound shortbow. No Kyuudo techniques may be used with crossbows.[break][break] Cost: 100,000 Ryo[break][break] Arrows[break] Rank: D-Rank[break] Type: Secondary, Melee/Range[break] Special: 10 Arrows / Pack[break] Description: Arrows can come in multiple shapes and sizes, depending upon the user's choice. The average length of an arrow from tip to fletching is 27''[break][break] Cost: 500 Ryo / Pack[break][break] Bolts[break] Rank: D-Rank[break] Type:Secondary / Range[break] Special: 10 Bolts / Pack[break] Description: The arrow-like projectiles of a crossbow are called bolts. These are much shorter than arrows, but can be several times heavier. There is an optimum weight for bolts to achieve maximum kinetic energy, which varies depending on the strength and characteristics of the crossbow. Bolts do not have fletching, i.e. feathered ends like those commonly seen on arrows. Crossbow bolts can be fitted with a variety of heads.[break][break] Cost: 500 Ryo / Pack[break][break] Clip Expanding Kit[break] Rank: A-Rank[break] Type: Craftsman Accessory[break] Special: One extra slot per kit.[break] Description: A clip expanding kit contains the tools and parts required to expand the amount of slots one can have in a crossbow clip. Each kit has enough parts to add one additional slot to a clip. This kit can only be used by a craftsman. [break][break] Cost: 10,000 Ryo.[break][break] Danger Close[break] Rank: C[break] Range: Close (0m ~ 5m), Mid (5m ~ 10m)[break] Type: Offensive[break] Handseals: -[break] Stamina Consumption: Low[break] While Danger Close is arguably the most simplistic of all the Watcher techniques, that does not mean that it is the weakest. To the contrary, it is actually one of the most useful techniques an archer can have, as its primary function is to defend oneself against close-range fighters, the natural bane of all archers. After repeating the same nock and fire motions hundreds, if not thousands of times, an archer possesses the ability to briefly move purely through reflex and instinct, firing off a hastily aimed shot twice as fast as normal.[break][break] Note: The user nocks an arrow, aims, and fires one shot in half the time it normally takes them to do so. This ability can only be used once per thread.[break][break] Ricochet[break] Rank: C[break] Range: Close (0m ~ 5m), Mid (5m ~ 10m), Far (10m+)[break] Type: Supplementary[break] Handseals: -[break] Stamina Consumption: Mid[break] A tricky technique that exemplifies how cunning an archer can be. By bouncing their arrows off the surface of an object, they undercut the opponent’s ability to defend against it, striking deep into the target when they least expect it.[break][break] Shotgun[break] Rank: C[break] Range: Close (0m ~ 5m)[break] Type: Offensive[break] Handseals: -[break] Stamina Consumption: Mid[break] The technique is one of the hallmarks of the Watcher style, firing more arrows than a normal person would believe is possible. It's been said that with proper mastery of the technique, the user can fire up to six at a time with all the ability they fire a normal one.[break][break] Sharpshooter[break] Rank: C[break] Range: -[break] Type: Passive[break] Handseals: -[break] Chakra Consumption: Low[break] By firing an arrow in an arc instead of in a straight line, the user can “lob” an arrow, allowing it to travel further distances than normal. The downside to this art is that by curving the arrows trajectory, you are in fact adding more to the distance it needs to travel, thus increasing the amount of time it takes to actually reach the target.[break][break] Note: This ability effectively doubles the range of any single shot.[break][break] Suppressing Fire[break] Rank: B[break] Range: -[break] Type: Supplementary[break] Handseals: -[break] Stamina Consumption: High[break] By practicing their ability to draw, knock, aim and fire an arrow, the user can learn to quickly lay a lot of damage downrange. Suppressing Fire is aptly named, for its function is, literally, to suppress a target through overwhelming fire.[break][break] Note: This essentially allows the user to increase their movements by a profound degree, capable of preparing and firing two arrows in the time it would take to fire one. This effect last for three posts before it will need to be cast again. This ability can never be combined with Danger Close, regardless of masteries.[break][break] O.S.O.K.[break] Rank: B[break] Range: -[break] Type: Passive[break] Handseals: -[break] Stamina Consumption: High[break] Mastering the art of bonus tension is one of the many overlooked fundamentals of being an archer. By holding out past the point of firing, one can enhance the arrow far beyond its initial damage. The technique, therefore, is aptly named “One Shot, One Kill” due to its frequent tendency to pierce through defenses and outright kill an enemy.[break][break] Note: This ability allows the user to pierce any traditional armor, and wooden constructs such as large trees (up to three feet thick). This ability can be combined with other Archery techniques; however, the chakra cost will stack.[break][break] Air Burst[break] Rank: B[break] Range: Close (0m ~ 5m), Mid (5m ~ 10m), Far (10m+)[break] Type: Supplementary[break] Handseals: -[break] Stamina Consumption: Mid[break] One of the more interesting techniques within the Watcher arsenal. The Air Burst technique is performed by, seemingly, just shooting an arrow almost straight up into the air. At least, that's how it looks to casual observers. The reality however is that the arrow isn't shot straight up, but rather at a trajectory that is so steep that it appears to be straight. The arrow is launched in such a way that as it is fired in an almost straight line, it also comes down in an almost straight line. Air Burst therefore is potent when used in a function similar to artillery, as it can bypass most defenses simply by coming from an angle most people never think to defend against. A skilled archer can launch an arrow with such accuracy that it can go high enough to stay in the air for quite some time, long enough even for an unfocused enemy to forget that it's there![break][break] Note: The arrow can stay in the sky for a total of three posts[break][break] Way of the Kamikaze[break] Rank: A[break] Range: -[break] Type: Supplementary [break] Handseals: -[break] Stamina Consumption: -[break] After mastering the Way of the Watcher, the user can now take a step further toward mastering archery as a whole. While in the beginning an archer is taught to use the power of chakra to subtly influence his arrows, the Way of the Kamikaze requires the archer to now manifest his abilities in a much more grandiose manner. Once armed with these abilities, the archer will transcend from the role of a mere soldier, to that of a God. [break][break] Note: Must be learned as prerequisite to additional Way of the Kamikaze techniques. Way of the Kamikaze techniques cannot be used in conjunction with Way of the Watcher techniques, regardless of masteries. The user must have learned all of the Way of the Watcher techniques to obtain this.[break][break] Raikou no Kami (God of Lightning)[break] Rank: B[break] Range: -[break] Type: Supplementary[break] Handseals: -[break] Stamina Consumption: High[break] Speed is often critical to success. With this enhancement, the tactician will utilize their chakra to dramatically decrease the wind resistance that an arrow meets. As the arrow is sent flying, the sound of the arrow whistling through the air is often the last thing a hapless victim hears.[break][break] Note: This ability doubles the speed of a single arrow.[break][break] Takuramu no Kami (God of Fate)[break] Rank: B[break] Range: -[break] Type: Supplementary[break] Handseals: 1 (hold)[break] Stamina Consumption: High[break] Filling an arrow with chakra, the user then fires it. From there, the user may control the trajectory of the arrow, using chakra to guide the arrow's shot. [break][break] Note: The user must hold the one-handed tiger-seal for the duration of the technique, otherwise it will end. Arrow can't curve harsher than 30 degree angles. The Chakra connection automatically severs after two posts.[break][break] Tenpi no Kami (God of the Sun)[break] Rank: A[break] Range: -[break] Type: Offensive[break] Handseals: -[break] Stamina Consumption: 2x High[break] When an arrow is enchanted by this technique, the arrowhead glows a fire-red, and when it impacts against an object, great gouts of smoke billow from the contact point. It's for these reasons that this technique is called “God of the Son”. By empowering the arrow with special chakra, the user can force it to spin like a drill. When it hits a solid defense, the arrow literally burns through it, using sheer chakra-powered friction.[break][break] Note: This drilling ability is capable of piercing through up to five feet of concrete.[break][break] Kyuudo no Kami (God of Archery)[break] Rank: S[break] Range: -[break] Type: Offensive[break] Handseals: -[break] Stamina Consumption: Massive[break] This technique is called the God of Archery because it represents the pinnacle of an archer's skill. The Kyuudo no Kami attack is always an archer's last resort, because its incredible power comes at a price. While the archer may not be killed upon using it, the fight will definitely end one way or the other, as the stresses of performing this technique will shatter the user's bow, if not every bone in their body![break][break] Note: Using this technique inflicts a great deal of concussive damage to everything immediately behind the bow (three feet), including the user. This technique automatically destroys the bow, regardless of its rank. This technique deals an incredibly high amount of damage to everything within three meters of the impact point of the arrow (equivalent to technique suchs as Hirudora). The arrow fired using this technique travels twice its maximum distance and at twice the highest velocity the bow in question can provide.[break][break] ulla [newclass=.believeBG]background-color:#fff;width:400px;padding-bottom:20px;border-radius:10px;box-shadow:#ccc 4px 4px 5px;[/newclass] [newclass=.believeHead]background-image:url(https://c.tenor.com/rv4LIdYE0zcAAAAC/tenor.gif);background-position:center center;border-radius:10px 10px 0 0;height:175px;-webkit-clip-path: polygon(0 0, 100% 0, 100% 100%, 0 75%);clip-path: polygon(0 0, 100% 0, 100% 100%, 0 75%);[/newclass] [newclass=.believeIcon]-webkit-transform:rotate(-39deg);float:left;margin-top:-70px;margin-left:50px;border:#fff 5px solid;background-color:#fff;[/newclass] [newclass=.believeIcon IMG]width:65px;[/newclass] [newclass=.believeBody]padding:20px 40px;font-family:arial;font-size:10px;text-align:justify;color:#3a3a3a;line-height:12px;[/newclass] [newclass=.believeBody b]color:#000;font-family:varela round;[/newclass] [newclass=.believeBody i]color:#888;[/newclass] [newclass=.believeButton]background-image:url(https://i.pinimg.com/originals/49/98/9e/49989e61e44b15452f882ce5f8ba1af6.gif);background-position:center center;-webkit-filter:grayscale(60%);height:40px;width:80%;border-radius:80px;box-shadow:#ccc 1px 1px 3px;color:#fff;line-height:40px;font-family:trebuchet ms;font-size:10px;text-transform:uppercase;[/newclass] [newclass=.believeButton a]color:#fff!important;font-weight:400!important;[/newclass] [googlefont=Varela Round]

One Day at a time

Prelude -
When the comforts of civilization begin to dull our senses, we must never forget that in the beginning, there was war. And war. And more war. Long before there were empires, there were humans consumed with greed and the hunger for power. Resources, territories, information—these were the forms of sustenance upon which we preyed. Today, we call such habits vices. Oh, how arrogant we have become! Are we not still impelled by those primordial emotions? Is the advent of war so far-fetched? But alas, for you to truly understand, we must dive deeper into this land’s half-forgotten past.
There was a time when might was the only law that humankind knew. Fearsome clans roamed throughout the land, seeking amenable grounds within which they could take root and opposing forces against whom they could test their mettle. Given the irregularity of nature’s bounty, certain regions appealed more than others, and dominion over such coveted territories became the spark that ignited the earliest inter-clan wars. These fierce, internecine affairs tended to conclude only when one side had decimated their competition into oblivion, and many clans of story were rendered extinct during this period.
The victors of war, having claimed their territories, often made truces with surrounding locals, offering protection in exchange for access to the yields of agriculture. Over time, certain communities emerged as more dominant than others, either due to numbers or sheer talent, and their rapid expansion would force smaller, neighboring communities to either collapse into their fold or be devastated. When the dust settled, humankind found itself divided into the five major territories that we are familiar with today. And was the bloodshed over? With our lands obtained and our bellies filled, were we finally content?
