When the comforts of civilization begin to dull our senses, we must never forget that in the beginning, there was war. And war. And more war. Long before there were empires, there were humans consumed with greed and the hunger for power. Resources, territories, information—these were the forms of sustenance upon which we preyed. Today, we call such habits vices. Oh, how arrogant we have become! Are we not still impelled by those primordial emotions? Is the advent of war so far-fetched? But alas, for you to truly understand, we must dive deeper into this land’s half-forgotten past.
There was a time when might was the only law that humankind knew. Fearsome clans roamed throughout the land, seeking amenable grounds within which they could take root and opposing forces against whom they could test their mettle. Given the irregularity of nature’s bounty, certain regions appealed more than others, and dominion over such coveted territories became the spark that ignited the earliest inter-clan wars. These fierce, internecine affairs tended to conclude only when one side had decimated their competition into oblivion, and many clans of story were rendered extinct during this period.
The victors of war, having claimed their territories, often made truces with surrounding locals, offering protection in exchange for access to the yields of agriculture. Over time, certain communities emerged as more dominant than others, either due to numbers or sheer talent, and their rapid expansion would force smaller, neighboring communities to either collapse into their fold or be devastated. When the dust settled, humankind found itself divided into the five major territories that we are familiar with today. And was the bloodshed over? With our lands obtained and our bellies filled, were we finally content?

Kirigakure no Jutsu (Hidden Mist Technique)[break] Rank: D[break] Range: Close (0m ~ 5m), Mid (5m ~ 10m), Far (10m+)[break] Type: Supplementary[break] Handseals: 3[break] Chakra Consumption: 2x MidKirigakure no Jutsu is a Ninjutsu technique utilizing the Water Element, and is native to Hidden Mist ninja only. After performing the necessary handseals, the user will generate a thick mist over a vast area to obscure the user and enemies range of sight. This technique’s potency is dramatically increased when used nearby large bodies of water, to the point where those enveloped by the mist can barely see what’s in front of them.[break][break]
Note: The area that this mist can cover is roughly fifty meters in all directions, with its epicenter being anchored to point of origination (where the user was standing when the technique was cast). Particularly strong explosive katon or fuuton (a-rank +) is capable of removing the mist entirely. In the presence of large bodies of water, the range of vision is limited to no more than two meters. Without it, the range of vision is limited to no more than five meters.[break][break]
Muon Satsujin no Jutsu (Silent Homicide Technique)[break] Rank: S[break] Range: Close (0m ~ 5m)[break] Type: Supplementary[break] Handseals: 3[break] Chakra Consumption: High to cast, mid to sustainIt is said that true ninja are masters of deception and stealth, allowing them to dispatch their enemies with such finesse that, more often than not, the victim is unaware of what happened; they are killed before they even realize they’ve been struck. This is the art of the silent homicide, which allows the user to silently track their enemies. This technique is a favorite of the elite shinobi of the Hidden Mist, and is arguably the reason they are feared so terribly while in visually-hindering situations.[break][break]
Note: This technique allows the user to silently, but moreso effectively, track their target(s) to an astounding degree with sound, rather than eyesight. Used in conjunction with the Hidden Mist technique, the user will use the chakra-induced fog to disrupt the vibrations causing any and all sound from their body while moving (this effect is specific to their body; if they step on a branch they will still make a sound). At the same time, the mist doubles as a method of pin-point tracking, relaying each and every motion through it to the user. This is how the user is able to track their target(s) in real time.[break][break]
Suiton: Mizusenpuku no Jutsu (Water Style, Hiding In Water Technique)[break] Rank: B[break] Range: -[break] Type: Supplementary[break] Handseals: -[break] Chakra Consumption: MidA technique focused around stealth, this allows the user to blend in with water to b undetected by the enemy. This technique is usable even in water as shallow as a small puddle (as seen in the series).[break][break]
Note: No techniques may be used while the user is within the water. If the water source is destroyed while the user is inside, they will be killed. [break][break]

Hikaemihon Ninpou: Naikuronu (Duplication Ninja Art: Dead Clone)[break] Rank: S[break] Range: -[break] Type: Supplementary [break] Handseals: -[break] Chakra Consumption: Massive (Optional)By utilizing a DNA sample, the user can clone a human body from just a sample. This process takes 1 week OOC or 90 posting rounds and must be performed in an Organic Preservation Chamber. Once complete, an exact copy of the subject the DNA was extracted from will have been created. This clone retains any jutsu the subject knew at the time of collection, minus surgeries, relics, and certain forbidden techniques (body augmentations). However, this subject is clinically, mentally, and spiritually dead and must be manipulated through additional medical techniques. Furthermore, since they are copies, DNA extraction is impossible from the clones, as are harvesting transplant organs.[break][break]
Note: For each massive incorporated into the process, one day will be subtracted from the process time (with the absolute lowest being 24 hours).[break][break]
