When the comforts of civilization begin to dull our senses, we must never forget that in the beginning, there was war. And war. And more war. Long before there were empires, there were humans consumed with greed and the hunger for power. Resources, territories, information—these were the forms of sustenance upon which we preyed. Today, we call such habits vices. Oh, how arrogant we have become! Are we not still impelled by those primordial emotions? Is the advent of war so far-fetched? But alas, for you to truly understand, we must dive deeper into this land’s half-forgotten past.
There was a time when might was the only law that humankind knew. Fearsome clans roamed throughout the land, seeking amenable grounds within which they could take root and opposing forces against whom they could test their mettle. Given the irregularity of nature’s bounty, certain regions appealed more than others, and dominion over such coveted territories became the spark that ignited the earliest inter-clan wars. These fierce, internecine affairs tended to conclude only when one side had decimated their competition into oblivion, and many clans of story were rendered extinct during this period.
The victors of war, having claimed their territories, often made truces with surrounding locals, offering protection in exchange for access to the yields of agriculture. Over time, certain communities emerged as more dominant than others, either due to numbers or sheer talent, and their rapid expansion would force smaller, neighboring communities to either collapse into their fold or be devastated. When the dust settled, humankind found itself divided into the five major territories that we are familiar with today. And was the bloodshed over? With our lands obtained and our bellies filled, were we finally content?

Beginning Of Divine Paths Theme
[break][break]
As The Kazekage left the infirmary room with Nato he was left alone with the newly sealed bjiuu. Shinji had the intelligence to realize what this meant but not in the fashion you'd think. He knew that this changed everything between the both of them at the very least. As Shinji stood to the right side of the bed that Yusuke was near. He crosses his arms over his chest looking down at the floor for a moment before glancing at Yusuke, remaining silent. Shinji had so much personal shit to deal with that this all added another complicated level to his already insane life on this planet. The statement that Shinji made was out of left field sure, but make no mistake they were gonna collide soon enough. Be it for good or bad.
[break][break]
“You know, Shinji, I respect your feelings and boundaries. It's true that we share no first degree blood ties, and calling each other 'brothers' might be a bit of a stretch. However, I believe that true brotherhood isn't just about blood, but about the bonds we form in battle, trust, and mutual understanding. But hey, if you prefer 'comrade,' that's perfectly fine with me, You know, I have to admit, I'm not too comfortable calling someone I barely know a 'brother' either. But I'm simply following the Kazekage’s order for the sake of the village. Surely you can understand that, right?".
[break][break]
Shinji observed him looking at the door as he waited for a couple of moments before responding, trying to find the right words if such a thing existed to convey his feelings without really showing his heart which Shinji does not wear on his sleeve. He was raised weirdly to believe emotions are a weakness on the battlefield by his own father and then later reinforced by his uncle. It's hard to unlearn old habits especially if they die hard. Shinji finally unfolded his arms and rested them at his side, as he looked at Yusuke before speaking, a calm demeanor in Shinji's expression and the octave of his voice.
[break][break]
"This isn't a matter of being an Uchiha or sharing blood ties with me. That title brother has a deep meaning and is not something people can just will to happen. I'm sure you understand. I agree with your sentiment about bonds. But, if you were to know how I see life where I am sitting you could better understand my position and feelings. However, even if this sounds uninviting or whatnot it's not an invitation to try to understand. At this very moment, my job and duty are to this village and its people. Including you. We are comrades by default due to our village affiliation. And, now that you have that sealed inside you we are alike in a lot of ways like comrades and maybe even brothers. But, we come from different spectrums of life. So, with respect yes everything I do is for the sake of the village. Even making sure you stay alive, your eyes stay intact and with the revealing of the words from that man to all the nations I'm curious what it all means. I would hope in a lot of ways you feel the same way I do about all of this in some form fashion. I'm sure the doctors will be here soon to check you out. With that being said."
[break][break]
Shinji observed him smoking but was still pretty lit from a couple of minutes ago, so Shinji wasn't interested in smoking again because his mind has been plagued by the comments that the so-called old man made to the Kages about these beasts. The ominous feelings welled inside his heart, mind, body, and soul. But, Shinji didn't know where it was coming from or why it was occurring. Shinji just knew that from the pit of his stomach, he just felt this radiating across his body, and mind. This was something he couldn't pinpoint right this second but it's not like he could just shake it off. He looked at Yusuke with a serious determined look he looked at Yusuke and spoke again.
[break][break]
"How do you feel right this moment? In regards to what happened with the sealing. Are there any adverse feelings you are experiencing that you may realize? Also, how advanced are you with the Sharingan?" [break][break]
Shinji knew that the last question was a loaded question to ask anyone. At least for the mindset of Shinji who has spent most of his teenage years keeping the fact he is an Uchiha secret. It wasn't so much a secret as opposed to him denouncing the clan for his own personal reasons. Reasons he holds deeply. But, again with someone's sight being only twenty/twenty. Even if the Sharingan is fabled as the all-seeing eye. The legend far outweighs Shinji's thoughts, feelings, and experiences with the clan itself and his family. However, you cut it Shinji doesn't have any features of clothing or logos carrying the insignia of the clan for a reason. In this life, there is one thing that Shinji has realized. No one can understand what he has been through and likely never will. For what it's worth, some people should be happy they don't understand. Shinji still has a lot to learn.
[attr="class","itsover"][attr="class","itsover"]Yusuke listened to Shinji, his eyes narrowing as a surge of frustration washed over him, knowing that deep down he felt the same way. He hated second guessing himself. His eyes locked onto Shinji, who was understandably hesitant about their newfound connection. Yusuke held the Kazekage in high regard and would do anything for her without hesitation. The Kazekage embraced his family and him with open arms. He did not feel any different from the other villagers and this was his family’s home.
Pausing for a moment, Yusuke responded, "Don’t get me wrong, Shinji…
He continued, "I'm following the Kazekage's orders and playing this 'brotherly' role. We don't have to be inseparable friends. I won't walk on eggshells around your emotions, and I don't expect you to cater to mine... But if you ever obstruct my path or the Kazekage's, know that I won't hesitate to confront you, even if it's a so-called brother...”. Yusuke said with a deadly serious tone and at the same time, secretly provoking him for any sort of information he could learn about the younger Uchiha, especially about the brothers and uncle mentioned earlier.
”You see all them years ago, when we saved you from your uncle I don’t know what he’d done to you but your life was pretty much expiring…”
“I have enough brothers as it is and they didn't exactly leave a very positive impression…”
The voices echoed through Yusuke’s head. Yusuke was raised in the Land of the Wind all his life. His family moved to Sunagakure as they did not like the heated tensions brewing between the Uchiha mainland and a group of Uchiha who plotted a Coup d'état against the Hokage. But he knew nothing about an Uchiha, Shinji or his family. He had also heard obscure rumours about a mysterious Uchiha who suddenly appeared in the village a year or two ago, but the Kazekage often kept things like this confidential and away from public knowledge for security reasons.
Yusuke couldn't help but be reminded of his green hair. He was not particular fond of the green hue, but maybe over time, it will start to grow on him. He realized that, in a way, his green hair reflected his deviation from the traditional Uchiha mold.
A vivid flashback from Yusuke's childhood emerged in his mind. Although his parents were generally supportive and he lived a sheltered upbringing in comparison to his other Uchiha clansmen, they were far from perfect. He remembered how his parents would constantly scrutinize and criticize every aspect of his behavior and appearance, saying it wasn’t safe to be a Uchiha. That he had to be anything other than an Uchiha to survive. But no matter what, he couldn’t escape his blood. It was engrained in him from an early age that he had to hide his abilities from prying eyes, and those who would take advantage of him for their personal gain.
Yusuke's hands involuntarily tightened as the memories resurfaced. He knew deep down that he was an Uchiha – his Sharingan eyes were undeniable proof. But he was tired of trying to please everyone. He would live on his own terms. Over time, he had learned to let go of others' expectations and embrace his individuality.
"How do you feel right this moment? In regards to what happened with the sealing. Are there any adverse feelings you are experiencing that you may realize? Also, how advanced are you with the Sharingan?" Shinji asked.
Yusuke turned away from Shinji, exhaling a heavy sigh. "Honestly, I don't remember anything that happened while I was out. I only recall the events leading up to and following the procedure”. He paused, contemplating his current state. "I definitely feel different. There's this odd sensation in the pit of my stomach... It's making me feel slightly nauseous, but I can't describe how it feels exactly.”
As he spoke, Yusuke unconsciously traced the seal on his chest where the Seven Tails was sealed within him. Almost immediately, he felt a slight burn in his chest, as if something within him was reacting to the touch. Yusuke quickly shook it off.
Addressing Shinji's question about his Sharingan, Yusuke couldn't resist the opportunity to show a playful side. "As for my Sharingan, well, that's a secret! I can’t give all my cards away yet", he teased with a mischievous grin and a slight wink with his right eye.
Returning to a more serious tone, Yusuke faced Shinji again. "You are the village’s other Jinchūriki, right? How did your transformation go anyway?” Yusuke pondered, focusing on the latter part as he heeded the Kazekage’s words about Shinji being the host to the Ichibi. Yusuke took one last puff of smoke from his kiseru before stowing it away, awaiting Shinji’s response.
“Yusuke has been selected to become the second jinchuriki of the sand. The day your life was saved you became the first host to the Ichibi, after today you all will be brothers.”

But if you ever obstruct my path or the Kazekage's, know that I won't hesitate to confront you, even if it's a so-called brother...”
[break][break]
Shinji stared at the newly acquainted Uchiha even with the tone he didn't feel an ounce of fear and that's because Yusuke himself really couldn't relate to what Shinji had seen, experienced, or felt. And, deep down in his heart, Shinji knows that the Kazekage is someone he respects. And, that reality is that Shinji wouldn't hesitate to kill. Not for a moment. The vibe Shinji that reverbed off himself toward Yusuke I'd hope would radiate toward him. Shinji heard a burst of laughter within his head that was deep and bombastic ringing in his ears that only Shinji could listen to. The anger in his eyes was only for a moment.
[break][break]
"Yusuke let's make one thing perfectly clear. You couldn't possibly begin to understand what I've been through or gone through. Out of respect to the Kazekage and what she does represent in my life is why I'm following her orders. But let's just hope for your sake you never have to experience even a fraction of it."
[break][break]
Yusuke's coming words broke the thoughts that Shinji was experiencing and the rage welling in his heart, the laughter was a menacing loud bombastic ringing in his ears.
[break][break]
"Honestly, I don't remember anything that happened while I was out. I only recall the events leading up to and following the procedure. I definitely feel different. There's this odd sensation in the pit of my stomach... It's making me feel slightly nauseous, but I can't describe how it feels exactly."
[break][break]
Shinji remained silent and nodded in response, feeling like a response wasn't needed because Shinji could relate but not really. His thoughts were of many different avenues at any given time and the Shinji himself still had so much to figure out. Shinji's face didn't say what he was feeling or thinking though, that side of him wearing his emotions on his sleeve had all but evaporated.
[break][break]
"As for my Sharingan, well, that's a secret! I can’t give all my cards away yet, You are the village’s other Jinchūriki, right? How did your transformation go anyway?”
[break][break]
Shinji sat silent for a moment, not reacting outwardly before he could even respond to Yusuke the medical team came into the room all waving to Shinji as he pretty much is well-known around these parts. A team of around four came into the room which was full of medical equipment and a bed as well. The lead doctor a woman spoke to Yusuke.
[break][break]
"I need you to get into the bed so we can check your vitals, and run some tests Yusuke Uchiha as per orders of The Kazekage and our lead medical shinobi, Shinji Uchiha."
[break][break]
Shinji crossed his arms, looking at Yusuke, a smug smile coming across the younger Uchiha's face. It wasn't meant to be disrespectful as opposed to letting Yusuke see that in a lot of ways his value to the village was slightly higher. While Shinji may have been younger, he was basically the elder in this relationship.
[break][break]
"No worries though Yusuke, I'm merely here supervising. These great doctors and nurses will take good care of you. I'll be here to oversee and then report to the Kazekage all the outcomes of your test. Under Kazekage's orders, be a good patient, brother."
[break][break]
Shinji was purposely letting Yusuke know his position in all of this. The doctors started to file in around Yusuke waiting for him to lie in the hospital bed so they can begin the aforementioned testing needed to check on how this all went. Shinji patted Yusuke on the shoulder.
[break][break]
"This will be harmless, I promise Yusuke." [break][break]
[attr="class","itsover"][attr="class","itsover"]The medical team entered the room, led by a woman doctor, spoke:
"I need you to get into the bed so we can check your vitals, and run some tests Yusuke Uchiha as per orders of The Kazekage and our lead medical shinobi, Shinji Uchiha."
He turned to Shinji, observing Shinji's smug expression as the medical team fawned over him, a chuckle unexpectedly bubbled up from Yusuke's chest. He quickly pressed a hand to his mouth, smothering the sound as his eyes crinkled at the corners.
"Sorry, brother, I mean no disrespect," Yusuke managed to say between subdued laughter. "The image of you being a lead medical shinobi, it's just..." He gestured vaguely in Shinji's direction, amusement still sparkling in his dark eyes. "You're just... younger than I expected. It's impressive, really.”
As the medical team started bustling around him, Yusuke didn't resist. He allowed them to guide him onto the hospital bed, dutifully cooperating as they checked his vitals and ran their obs tests. Throughout the process, he kept his gaze locked on Shinji, silently assuring the younger Uchiha that he was taking this situation seriously.
“All right, Shinji, I'm in your capable hands.” Yusuke said once the initial checks were done. His tone was calm, a stark contrast to the amusement that had filled it just moments before. "I trust you'll report back to the Kazekage about my condition. And don't worry,” he added, flashing Shinji a lopsided grin, “I'm always a good patient.”
With the medical team's inspection complete, Yusuke pushed himself up from the hospital bed, a sigh of relief escaping his lips. He looked at Shinji, his eyes gleaming with a newfound determination. “If that's all, I think I've had enough of this hospital," Yusuke declared, his voice resolute. He ran a hand through his hair, a faint grin tugging at his lips.
“Feels like I've been in this hospital for an eternity, probably nearly 12 hours. Time to head home." Yusuke then stretched his arms, giving one last glance around the room. He was eager to leave the sterile, clinical environment behind and return to the comfort of his own home, to have some time alone to process the profound changes he was experiencing.

Shinji remained unimpressed by Yusuke's laughter and general antics. Perhaps Shinji may seem a little uptight as he watched the older Uchiha laugh and place his hand over his mouth to muffle his laughter. The fact that Yusuke doesn't know much about the very hospital he was in or who Shinji is is not lost upon the younger Uchiha. He was watching him laughing as Shinji's eyes focused on Yusuke as his facial expression remain unchanged.
[break][break]
"Sorry, brother, I mean no disrespect, The image of you being a lead medical shinobi, it's just...You're just... younger than I expected. It's impressive, really.”
[break][break] Shinji looked over at one of the nurses grabbing a clipboard from her which had a paper clipped to it, with a bunch of dried ink on it. Shinji's eyes quickly scanned all the info, which at the bottom had a bunch of blank spots that could be filled in. He looked up from the clipboard as Yosuke finished speaking, Shinji would lay the clipboard flipped over onto the table beside him.
[break][break] "I'm a medical shinobi in training. I would be one of the leads once my training is finished. I have become interested in this because it can improve the quality of life of those around us. The idea that I can mix it and ninjutsu together is bonuses. Truthfully, preserving life through whatever means will always be useful to the village."
[break][break] Shinji would listen to the whispers of the nurses as he would surge the chakra into his right index finger, transferring the chakra into ink with fuuinjutsu onto the paper. Shinji was hyper-focused on the outcome of all the tests, it would appear that the man is showing all the normal vitals of a healthy young adult male. He would hear the words of Yusuke leaving his lips, as Shinji merely listened while he looked into the Uchiha's eyes.
[break][break] “All right, Shinji, I'm in your capable hands.”
[break][break] Shinji observed the calm tone in the elder Uchiha's voice, and the behavior of this man is different from every Uchiha he has ever met. Shinji handed the clipboard to a nurse who ended up leaving the room after Shinji said some words to her. The door closed behind her as Shinji leaned against the table behind him.
[break][break] "I trust you'll report back to the Kazekage about my condition. And don't worry, I'm always a good patient.”
[break][break] The nurses all start to leave the room and it is now just the two Uchiha alone now, as Shinji watched Yusuke push himself up from the bed he was just laying in. A sigh escaped Yusuke's lips as his eyes of his focused on Shinji's he started to speak again but Shinji just listened.
[break][break] “If that's all, I think I've had enough of this hospital, Feels like I've been in this hospital for an eternity, probably nearly 12 hours. Time to head home."
[break][break] "Yeah, you seem to be fine. I'll of course be reporting all my findings to the Kazekage. I'm sure we will see each other soon. You need to be careful and go home and get some rest eventually. For any change that seems out of the norm, you are to report back to the hospital don't hesitate to come here and see one of us."
[break][break] Yusuke would stretch his arms out and Shinji would watch him, As the mind of Shinji was still processing the information he has saw. Which was just a clean bill of health. Shinji would cross his arms, staring at Yusuke to see if he has anything to ask or say before he leaves. [break][break]
