When the comforts of civilization begin to dull our senses, we must never forget that in the beginning, there was war. And war. And more war. Long before there were empires, there were humans consumed with greed and the hunger for power. Resources, territories, information—these were the forms of sustenance upon which we preyed. Today, we call such habits vices. Oh, how arrogant we have become! Are we not still impelled by those primordial emotions? Is the advent of war so far-fetched? But alas, for you to truly understand, we must dive deeper into this land’s half-forgotten past.
There was a time when might was the only law that humankind knew. Fearsome clans roamed throughout the land, seeking amenable grounds within which they could take root and opposing forces against whom they could test their mettle. Given the irregularity of nature’s bounty, certain regions appealed more than others, and dominion over such coveted territories became the spark that ignited the earliest inter-clan wars. These fierce, internecine affairs tended to conclude only when one side had decimated their competition into oblivion, and many clans of story were rendered extinct during this period.
The victors of war, having claimed their territories, often made truces with surrounding locals, offering protection in exchange for access to the yields of agriculture. Over time, certain communities emerged as more dominant than others, either due to numbers or sheer talent, and their rapid expansion would force smaller, neighboring communities to either collapse into their fold or be devastated. When the dust settled, humankind found itself divided into the five major territories that we are familiar with today. And was the bloodshed over? With our lands obtained and our bellies filled, were we finally content?

Eager anticipation coursed through Xio's veins as he embarked on a journey beyond the familiar walls of Kumogakure. Finally granted permission to venture out for a mission, he donned his shinobi attire, ready to showcase his skills in a nearby village. The prospect of stepping into the world outside filled him with bubbling excitement, even though the task at hand appeared seemingly minor.
Swiftly making his way to the village's entrance, Xio passed through the grand gates of Kumogakure no Sato. As the gates swung open, he eagerly propelled himself forward, the wind carrying his determination towards the small town of Greece. The path ahead had been recently trimmed, guiding him effortlessly through the woods. Within a short span of time, he emerged at the borders of the lively town, its energy a stark contrast to the bustling streets of Kumogakure.
Xio's keen eyes scanned the crowd, searching for the village leader he was assigned to meet. Amongst the flurry of activity, his gaze settled upon an older gentleman standing atop a stage in the town center, his voice amplified by a megaphone. The man's spirited exclamation echoed through the air, captivating the attention of the gathering crowd. It was a moment of anticipation and excitement—a perfect opportunity for Xio to make his entrance.
With confidence and purpose, Xio approached the stage, his steps purposeful and his demeanor reflecting his determination. As he neared the platform, he greeted the man with a respectful nod, his voice infused with a hint of excitement.
"Good day, esteemed sir. I am Kami Xio, reporting for duty," he announced, his words carrying a resolute tone mixed with genuine respect for the village leader and the task at hand.
The older gentleman's face lit up with a smile of relief as Xio greeted him. It was evident that he had been eagerly awaiting Xio's arrival.
"Ah, you're finally here, kid! Let's get to work and show these people what you're made of!"
the old man exclaimed, his voice filled with enthusiasm. With that, he swiftly descended from the stage and joined the crowd that had gathered in front of Xio. While the attendance was not overwhelming, there were still around 20 to 30 individuals eagerly awaiting the display.
Taking a confident step forward, Xio raised his hand and greeted the crowd with a warm smile. The air was buzzing with anticipation as all eyes focused on the young genin.
"Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. My name is Xio, and today, I have something truly special to share with all of you. Prepare to witness the power of my Jutsu!"
His voice carried a hint of excitement and determination. With a subtle shift in his posture, Xio's concentration intensified. He slid his hands into his pockets, an action that seemed almost nonchalant. Suddenly, with a burst of focus, he directed his chakra toward his gourd, causing the cap to pop off.
As if summoned by his command, a steady stream of molten lava began to flow out from the gourd, cascading down its sides and onto Xio's back. The crowd gasped in awe as they watched the glowing, viscous substance meander its way toward the stage. Fortunately, Xio's clothing was specially designed to withstand the intense heat and flames, ensuring his safety.
The lava made contact with the stage, releasing a mesmerizing hiss and emitting thick plumes of smoke. With each touch, the stage's surface sizzled and burned, leaving behind charred marks and creating small, smoldering craters. The gourd continued to leak, causing the stage to weaken and crumble, piece by piece, until it finally collapsed under the scorching touch of the molten flow.
Xio's feet landed gracefully on a small pool of lava that had formed below him, its surface shimmering with a captivating glow. Utilizing his chakra control, he skillfully contained the flowing lava, ensuring it posed no danger to the enthralled onlookers. With a measured command, he redirected the molten substance, causing it to pour onto the ground.
To the amazement of the crowd, the once formless lava transformed into a towering column, standing proudly before Xio, its height reaching approximately 5 meters. The lava column remained vibrant and active, its intense heat radiating waves of energy. The air around it seemed to shimmer with the residual heat.
"This, my friends, is my most treasured technique,"
Xio proclaimed, his voice resonating with a mix of confidence and pride. "Through the power of my chakra, I possess complete mastery over this flowing, molten force. It obeys my will and can be shaped to my desire."
As he spoke, Xio manipulated the lava with precise movements of his chakra-infused hands, causing it to shift and morph into various simple shapes. The crowd erupted in applause and cheers, their excitement ignited by the dazzling display of control and power before them.
The atmosphere crackled with excitement as the crowd erupted into cheers and gasps, their eyes fixated on Xio's mesmerizing display of mastery over the lava. Each twist and turn of his mental command transformed the molten substance into a kaleidoscope of shapes and forms, showcasing the depth of his skills as the host of the Yonbi, a fact known to only a select few. The genin couldn't help but revel in the thrill of the moment, basking in the admiration and astonishment that washed over the spectators.
As he effortlessly manipulated the lava, molding it into intricate patterns and fantastical sculptures, Xio marveled at the extent of his own growth. The once timid genin had come a long way, and now he stood as a beacon of power and control. The molten streams danced and coiled in response to his imagination, morphing into towering creatures, delicate flowers, and even ethereal landscapes. The crowd's applause fueled his confidence, igniting a fire within him that burned brighter than the very lava he commanded.
But like an artist concluding his masterpiece, Xio gracefully released his hold over the lava. With a final mental command, the once mesmerizing shapes dissipated, dissipating into shimmering rivulets that flowed back into his gourd. Grateful for the opportunity to showcase his abilities, Xio turned to face the audience, his eyes twinkling with a sense of fulfillment.
"Thank you all for being a part of this incredible experience," he expressed with a genuine warmth in his voice, acknowledging the crowd's appreciation. As the last traces of lava disappeared into the gourd, the cap floated back into place, sealing the fiery liquid within. A small crater marked the spot where his extraordinary display had taken place, a testament to the power he possessed.
Just as he was about to make his exit, the older gentleman who had guided him earlier returned, his voice laced with gratitude and goodwill.
"Thank you for gracing us with your presence! Please convey our heartfelt wishes to the Raikage, and let him know that Greece sends its warmest regards," he said, extending his hand in a parting gesture of camaraderie.
With a nod of appreciation, Xio bid farewell to the stage, weaving his way through the crowd with a spring in his step. He carried with him the memories of a successful mission and the echoes of applause that would reverberate in his heart for years to come. As he ventured out of the village, his spirit soared as headed home to kumogakure.
