When the comforts of civilization begin to dull our senses, we must never forget that in the beginning, there was war. And war. And more war. Long before there were empires, there were humans consumed with greed and the hunger for power. Resources, territories, information—these were the forms of sustenance upon which we preyed. Today, we call such habits vices. Oh, how arrogant we have become! Are we not still impelled by those primordial emotions? Is the advent of war so far-fetched? But alas, for you to truly understand, we must dive deeper into this land’s half-forgotten past.
There was a time when might was the only law that humankind knew. Fearsome clans roamed throughout the land, seeking amenable grounds within which they could take root and opposing forces against whom they could test their mettle. Given the irregularity of nature’s bounty, certain regions appealed more than others, and dominion over such coveted territories became the spark that ignited the earliest inter-clan wars. These fierce, internecine affairs tended to conclude only when one side had decimated their competition into oblivion, and many clans of story were rendered extinct during this period.
The victors of war, having claimed their territories, often made truces with surrounding locals, offering protection in exchange for access to the yields of agriculture. Over time, certain communities emerged as more dominant than others, either due to numbers or sheer talent, and their rapid expansion would force smaller, neighboring communities to either collapse into their fold or be devastated. When the dust settled, humankind found itself divided into the five major territories that we are familiar with today. And was the bloodshed over? With our lands obtained and our bellies filled, were we finally content?

Unbeknownst to those that enter, when passing through, an invisible portal of sorts activates, mimicking a feeling of submersion in deep ocean.
There was oxygen to breath yet you'd feel the heaviness of water pressure. and then....normalcy. Before your very eyes, you were elsewhere.

Submerged within a seemingly infinite infinite body of water that stretched far further than your eyes could see 40 meters ahead sat a rounded, dune-like structure 60 meters in diameter.
The area glowed with a majestic, captivating light, with harmless aquatic life drawn to it like moths to a flame. Filled with columns of pillars parallel to one another with 30 meters between each set, it almost appeared to have been a sunken stage meant for a battle opera.
Your movement while not too heavily restricted, you still felt lighter than existing in normal water. You must swim and move ahead. Investigate and find a way home!

Miu had been reading off by the water in Kirigakure, enjoying her time off but still feeling too restrained within the confines of her familial manor. She loved being doted upon, she did rather adore it, but there were times that she too desired a change of pace, an adventure to get her blood pumping. Though, she didn't find anything interesting of the sort and doing a mission today seemed so tedious, so she found herself drifting. Eventually, she found herself at the edge of the village, surrounded by water and had taken to reading while dipping her feet into the cool liquid. After a while, she decided to take a dive in reality and explore more of the forests around.
As she traveled, the road took a three prong fork and she stopped for a moment as the hive at her hip began to buzz. To the right? She shrugged, and took the right most path before she was struck with a crippling darkness. When she could make out her surroundings, she immediately begins to panic and clutch her throat desperately clinging to the air and seeking a way out. After a few moments, after notably not drowning, she is able to compose herself and noted that she could breath just fine. Though she still felt the pressure from being deep underwater, she was able to move around and make out her surroundings.
The most noteworthy view was the large grotto lined with pillars, gorgeously illuminated by some sort of unknown light that drew in plenty of the wildlife. There was nothing else to do so, with her bees angrily buzzing at her side, she swam forward to figure out where she was, and how she could find her way back home.
I drifted away at the bottom of the ocean—or at least that is what it felt like. Initially plunged into a world of darkness before my vision adapted. There were several things I took note of as my vision returned; the pressure of the ocean didn’t crush me, I was still able to breathe, and well, breasts.
Not just any pair either, this were very familiar to me.
“Miu-chan…?”
I spoke her name. But how did I end up here? I reflected on where I was before and what I was doing. Unfortunately, it was a little hazy. I recalled shopping for pork meat buns in the Hidden Mists’ market area.
They were on sale, but I couldn’t tell if they were on sale because of a promotion or if they were just old. I took a bite and before I knew it, I was here… Well, at least I don’t appear to be dead… though this was a dream-like experience. I began kicking my feet and swam toward Miu—a kunoichi from the Hidden Mist.
A childhood friend and a romantic interest, one-sided or not. I had worn a navy-blue yukata, with a black and white decorative slash. Beneath the yukata, I had worn five-inch black spandex shorts. And on my feet, I wear a pair of standard geta.
“Miu-chan! Miu-chan!!”
I desperately called out to her as she attempted to find her way back home. I hadn’t begun to question anything just yet, but some foul was at play here, obviously. NOTES: Ofc I got those thangs on me (ninja tools).

The Ocean, often times an unexplored phenomenon filled with seemingly infinite discoveries, now existed as a playground of for the two acquainted shinobi.
As distance dwindled, the illumination of the platform and its pillars gradually grew stronger and soon revealed a golden chalice perfectly resting in the middle of the platform, engraved with a silver X. Within the chalice was...nothing. except for the surrounding water that encompassed the entire area.
A mixture that appeared to be a combination of heat and chakra emanated from the chalice itself as it vibrated with a low, subtle hum. No matter the course of action that was taken henceforth, one objective remained....
Despite the awkward surroundings that she found herself in, Miu had at least been blessed by the familiar voice of her companion from back home, Yohru. Floating about in her swimsuit top and jeans, she turned around and her eyes widened in surprise. She briefly considered if he came to the same location and had been brought there by similar means, but dispelled such notions as it wasn't necessary. The only thing that was left to do was to group up and figure out how they would proceed. [break] "Yohru?!" she shouted back to him, before waving and swimming her way over to him. Her bees angrily buzzed at her, demanding that she remove herself from the water zone. If only they could understand that she wanted to leave just as much! [break] "Glad to see a friendly face, but what are we going to do about this? That area looks like the best bet, but..." she allowed herself to trail off into the distance, and couldn't help but worry about what could be lurking around. Though there were two of them around now so many elements in the area around them simply didn't make sense. [break] Thoughts raced in her head and she needed the opinion of someone else before she proceeded. Confident though she was, Miu was the type who listened to her gut and that gut informed her that getting home was not going to be easy. Sighing, she would run a hand through her hand as a nervous habit while she waited for her ally to give his musings on their situation. [break] "We should at least move closer and get an idea of what is going on, right?" she sought affirmation, continuing to wade forward a bit as they conversed.
Ah, my voice was able to reach her beneath the ocean! It was truly a phenomenon we could achieve this. She called out to me in reply as I swam up to her. I could hear and feel the buzzing of the bees as they tried to communicate with her.
This environment seemed to agitate them, by they weren’t the only ones. And, as for Miu, how could I be sure she wasn’t an illusion of some sort? Maybe this entire thing was an illusion. But her curves sure seemed real, especially up close.
“I’m not even sure how we ended up here… But there is only one thing we can do—escape. Though the exit may not be obvious to us now, surely it will present itself when the time is right.”
I dared not lie to Miu. This situation at hand was perplexing, but I was wise enough not to boast and pretend that what we were facing had a simple solution. There were no simple solutions, only quick fixes. And I wasn’t the type for half measures.
As we spoke, I looked around for any signs that could put us closer to freedom. My chocolate-colored orbs sat upon a strange object. Was this what Miu was referring to? It was odd and it stood out like a sore thumb. Would this lead us to freedom or was it simply just another distraction? A trap, even?
I was apprehensive of it, but still I began to move toward it. It was like a beacon, shimmering gallantly like a knight’s shining armor. A golden chalice? Just who did it belong to? I mentally prepared myself for the worse. If anything were to happen, I would at least need to make sure my friend made it home safely. I took the lead and led her to the chalice.
“Yeah, let’s check it out! Perhaps there lies an answer there.”
I continued forward, but as a defensive measure, once we got close enough, I slowed down and checked our surroundings. Who knows what was next? NOTES:Game MasterMiu
