When the comforts of civilization begin to dull our senses, we must never forget that in the beginning, there was war. And war. And more war. Long before there were empires, there were humans consumed with greed and the hunger for power. Resources, territories, information—these were the forms of sustenance upon which we preyed. Today, we call such habits vices. Oh, how arrogant we have become! Are we not still impelled by those primordial emotions? Is the advent of war so far-fetched? But alas, for you to truly understand, we must dive deeper into this land’s half-forgotten past.
There was a time when might was the only law that humankind knew. Fearsome clans roamed throughout the land, seeking amenable grounds within which they could take root and opposing forces against whom they could test their mettle. Given the irregularity of nature’s bounty, certain regions appealed more than others, and dominion over such coveted territories became the spark that ignited the earliest inter-clan wars. These fierce, internecine affairs tended to conclude only when one side had decimated their competition into oblivion, and many clans of story were rendered extinct during this period.
The victors of war, having claimed their territories, often made truces with surrounding locals, offering protection in exchange for access to the yields of agriculture. Over time, certain communities emerged as more dominant than others, either due to numbers or sheer talent, and their rapid expansion would force smaller, neighboring communities to either collapse into their fold or be devastated. When the dust settled, humankind found itself divided into the five major territories that we are familiar with today. And was the bloodshed over? With our lands obtained and our bellies filled, were we finally content?

Yawning and stretching, the aloof princess of the Kamizuru clan had slipped into her 'battle attire' and loved the way the fur felt on her skin. Her bees buzzed angrily alongside her, empathizing with her dislike of being awakened earlier than planned. Miu wasn't someone who took up many missions, it was simply the few that she succeeded in were all noteworthy. In this way, it seemed as if they took her laziness into account and deemed it necessary for her to be assigned missions more often.
That was the alert she had received earlier that morning, before she met with the Mizukage and a man he identified as Itada, Jonin rank, and he informed them of the rich couple who had been staying in town. She had no clue what he was talking about, she often didn't notice things that didn't affect her, but she would give her leader her all during the mission regardless. He had chosen her for a reason, no?
Thus, they began their long trek through Mizu no Kuni into the land of the Vanishing Swamp. She had heard myths about this place and their connection to the Kamizuru, but had not had a chance to personally make her way out there. Her heels silently smashing the dirt, the moisture ensured the ground wasn't so hard that the steps were very audible, she yawned and looked at her companion while the happy couple behind her gushed about all of the pictures they had gotten and how wonderful the village was.
"So, what's your take on this? Do you think they'll be coming out soon, because this has been too easy so far," she spoke to him, though the look on her face would appear as if she were bored.

He had chosen her for a reason.
Although young, Itada was incredibly analytic in his endeavors, and his partaking in this mission was no different. Yohru had returned, and with him had brought back valuable intel and schemes of expansion concerning surrounding nations. Being one of the few Jounin currently in the village, the Sōsuke saw himself at the forefront of the advancements – if he was to successfully aid in expanding the influence of the Sea, he would need gifted, capable, and loyal shinobi by his side.
Enter — the princess of the Kamizuru.
Through his Jounin No Jutsu(plot power lol), he’d heard that the princess was, for lack of a better word, lazy, and hadn’t fully been committed in her duties as a shinobi of the Hidden Mist. Itada thought this interesting, and so he would see for himself. Was she truly lazy? Or was she simply a shinobi like himself, or Chae; did she possess a will or power that would allow her to do as she pleased?
Kirigakure was rough — it was a village embedded in the roots of war, with a leader whose power was such that the landscape of Mizu had been scarred in his wake.
The weak did not last long in the Sea.
For what it was worth, Itada had been a witness to the events that led up to the Kamizuru’s ascension to Chuunin. He had watched the tournament. He saw how she’d overcome death match after match, how she masterfully weaved in and out of her family’s techniques as each of her opponents drowned to the Sea before them. As he reminisced about everything he had seen that day, he couldn’t help but think how the kunoichi’s bee techniques would synergize with his own wood style ninjutsu.
“None would dare challenge the Sea openly”, he responded to Miu, thinking back to the display of power he’d shown to nearby townsfolk the other day. However, her inquiry did provoke an idea in the king of the Uchiha.
His stride would slow as to allow the couple trailing behind them to reclaim the lead, hand signaling to Miu as he did so.
Hey, you two take the front. It’s not like we know the way”, he spoke to the couple. If the princess wanted some action, they’d have to lay low.
The Sōsuke was dressed in his usual attire: all black loose-fitted clothes typical of his clan, his hooded ebony cloak, boots, and shinobi tools and equipment tucked where they were supposed to be, and his two blades strapped horizontally across his back.
Miu couldn't deny that she didn't know much about the inner workings within her own village, nor the people who had been lifting it up. It wasn't as if she didn't care, it was simply that she had a different role to play. She was the scion of the Kamizuru and her only goals were to strengthen herself to eradicate any enemy that her country may have, often leaving a sizable distance between her and others. She nodded silently in agreement when the man declared that none would openly defy them. [break] "That's true enough, Mochizuki is pretty monstrous even when not angry," she mentioned offhandedly, not as a deriding comment but rather as a testament to Kirigakure's power. If their Mizukage was seen as weak then so was the whole country, but it was quite the opposite. [break] Confused at the man directing the couple to the front, it took a moment before she caught on. Once she did, she smiled widely and, honestly, was deeply impressed by the foresight of the man with whom she was partnered with. They were both high-ranking Shinobi who had been acknowledged by their fearless leader, so there was no reason to fear an ambush. On the contrary, they should be welcoming it. [break] "Oh, yes now that was a delightful idea! So now is preparation time, it seems," she said, before weaving a set of seals required for her Hiden techniques. Within a few moments, two large globs of wax began to form on her left and right. "Both of you, left and right respectfully. Hide in the foliage," she gave her instructions quickly and sharply before smiling at her companion and putting her arms behind her head as if she was the most relaxed person around.
Chakra Used - x2 High Chakra Remaining - x2 Massive, x2 High Jutsu used - Mitsu-rou no Bushin (Beeswax Clone) Rank: B Range: Close (0m ~ 5m) Type: Supplementary Handseals: 3 Chakra Consumption: High per clone The user makes a clone made of beeswax. The beeswax itself hardens to make a hardened version of the user via clone. Up to three clones may be made at any given time. However if the clone is injured enough the outer shell cracks and falls apart causing the wax it was comprised of to dissolve and fall apart in globs of honey like wax.
Note: Clones, like the Bee Honey technique, will hold an opponent trapped when fallen apart for the remainder of the turn unless broken through with strength comparable to level 4. The clones also have a x2 High chakra to use any Kamizuru clan techniques.

At the mention of Mochizuki, Itada could not help but let his mind wander back to the last time he had been in the Mizukage’s company, and how the ‘monstrous’ aura that the princess had mentioned had reverberated through the room the moment the Water Shadow entered. Her words, she had spoke them true enough, but there was always two sides to a coin.
Monstrous was one word to describe him, but for those like Itada, who did not fear the power he possessed, foolish may have been a better descriptor. Regardless of his feelings about Mochizuki, he would keep them to himself for now.
With piqued interest did he watch the kunoichi perform the ritual for her clan techniques. It had been awhile since he’d seen the Kamizuru in action, and if she was observant, his analytic eye was so that she may have noticed him trying to remember the sequence of seals as she completed them.
“My turn”, the Uchiha responded while beginning to complete a series of seals on his own. Three to be exact, preparation for his technique would have been completed almost as quick as it began.
A plume of smoke would cover his figure shortly, before clearing and revealing a new person; via Henge No Jutsu, the Uchiha had transformed himself into a much older, more elderly man – although – for those that knew him, he still looked strikingly similar to his regular self.
Handsome, aye?”, he mused to his companion as the escort continued, the couple in front, the clones in the foliage, and the two kiri elite nearly shoulder to shoulder.
Surely, someone would find them easy pickings. The Lands of Mizu No Kuni were infested with degenerates.
{Spoiler} -1 Low Henge no Jutsu (Transformation Technique) Rank: E Range: Close (0m ~ 5m) Type: Supplementary Handseals: 3 Chakra Consumption: Low, Low (upkeep) Henge no Jutsu is an Academy Ninjutsu technique. After performing a set of handseals, the user takes on the form of another object, whether it be an animal, plant, or inanime object. This transformation is exactly like the genuine article, so it is impossible to tell the two apart without special methods. Note: The user can transform themself into an object of average, small, or miniature size. This means that one cannot Henge into a bijuu, summon, or other gigantic object.
