When the comforts of civilization begin to dull our senses, we must never forget that in the beginning, there was war. And war. And more war. Long before there were empires, there were humans consumed with greed and the hunger for power. Resources, territories, information—these were the forms of sustenance upon which we preyed. Today, we call such habits vices. Oh, how arrogant we have become! Are we not still impelled by those primordial emotions? Is the advent of war so far-fetched? But alas, for you to truly understand, we must dive deeper into this land’s half-forgotten past.
There was a time when might was the only law that humankind knew. Fearsome clans roamed throughout the land, seeking amenable grounds within which they could take root and opposing forces against whom they could test their mettle. Given the irregularity of nature’s bounty, certain regions appealed more than others, and dominion over such coveted territories became the spark that ignited the earliest inter-clan wars. These fierce, internecine affairs tended to conclude only when one side had decimated their competition into oblivion, and many clans of story were rendered extinct during this period.
The victors of war, having claimed their territories, often made truces with surrounding locals, offering protection in exchange for access to the yields of agriculture. Over time, certain communities emerged as more dominant than others, either due to numbers or sheer talent, and their rapid expansion would force smaller, neighboring communities to either collapse into their fold or be devastated. When the dust settled, humankind found itself divided into the five major territories that we are familiar with today. And was the bloodshed over? With our lands obtained and our bellies filled, were we finally content?

Shinosukes personality was developed over time through the circumstances of his upbringing. While some of it was predetermined from the day he could have a personality, most of it was because of his family. To begin with, he spent a lot of time with his mother who filled his head with fantastic tales of heroic gallantry, hoping her boys would be much the same. These wondrous ideas of bravery made Shinosuke very hopeful and ambitious, striving to commit acts of greatness one day. This blind bravery often also made him arrogant, oftentimes becoming a little too full of his capabilities. This arrogance exposed him to failure early on in life with his brother during their consistent training. Winning caused him to overestimate himself and underestimate his brother. When his brother finally turned the tides, seemingly indefinitely, his excessive frustration pushed him into a jealous feud with his long time rival.
While he was discontent with his predicament, he didn’t not hold it against his brother as it was not a fault of his brother’s that he lost but of his own. He is capable of ascertaining his own faults, but not always the solutions to them. Shinosuke can be seen as a very honest and straightforward individual, sometimes too straightforward. He is not one to lie nor one to mislead in any way. This lack of adaptability can also be seen as a piece of his collective failure. This straight to the point swordsman is generally exactly that, no more and no less. He intends to hone his skills and become the best swordsman alive so he may be named Untouched, a phrase his father considers the peak of a samurai’s capabilities. Unbothered by the trivial matters of men and their treachery, but also unmatched in physicality with the sword. There can be no greater man than one that considers no man an enemy. Shinosuke’s interpretation of his father’s words are quite a bit off the mark for now, but he may one day fully realize them either by his own accord or the help of others.
BIOGRAPHY
Much like most men, Shinosuke had started out with a relatively average life. Born to a mother and father who did as much as they could for their son to live a decent life until he found one of his own to partake in. The boy’s father was rather stoic and kept to himself, rarely having time for his son as they lived within humble means. Much of the day is spent wailing away at the different tools and equipment ordered by the quaint neighbors around them. Most of the neighbors worked on farms and the lot to keep their families from starving, which in turn meant broken farming tools needed to be repaired. While his father was exceptional at fixing equipment, it was not the main reason he stayed within the hut located some yards from the house they stayed in. Tools did not take all day to fix and turn in. No, the man was creating much more in that compact hut that constantly vent smoke from the top of its cover. It wouldn’t be until much later that Shinosuke’s father would implore his son to take a look inside. In the younger years he would spend more time with his mother, who taught him grand tales of different warriors and adventurers. Tales of men that handled weapons of finesse for others, explorers that found knowledge in the far reaches of the world, and even of agile tricksters that dabbled in misdirection.
Eventually, his parents’ love for each other created another child that Shinosuke would call brother. They were only some years apart from each other. The two brothers would be quite the handful for the small area they resided in. They slayed evil doers in neighboring farms and attacked hulking beasts that grazed in their kingdom, at least it’s what they imagined. The neighbors grew weary of the two and would complain in large amounts to both mother and father. Annoyed by the incessant complaints, their father decided it was time to instill some discipline into the rascals. He led his ram actions duo into the farmlands for some time until they laid eyes upon a clearing with a decently large wooden structure in the middle. Different areas around the house had other items set up around it as if preparing for something. Their father lumbered up the steps and slid open the door, taking his sandals off as they entered and prompting his children to do the same. The two would take in the spacious room that held flooring akin to mats. Upon the walls lay racks with various tools occupying them with some big and some small, some wide and some skinny. Almost all were sharp and gleamed with shine like no other. Some had wonderful inscriptions with different lettering and images littering the steel.
“Now my sons, why is it that I happen to hear of you two harassing the cows down the way?”
The two did not often hear this tired huff of a tone in their father’s voice and knew what came after, snapping back to their father’s gaze from the weapons. When it came to discipline, the two suffered through rigorous physical ordeals that their father called “training”. Shinosuke being the oldest required him to lead by example and muscle through the pain so his brother also knew it was possible to continue on. As long as the two were together there wasn’t anything they felt they couldn’t experience. The wild spirits that both boys held would remain intact largely due to the fact that their father knew when to let up. He wasn’t there to abuse them, merely to keep them from acting out around the neighbors and introduce them into another past time if they so chose to. To say the boys were elated would be an understatement, immediately thrusting into a part of their father’s life they never knew anything of. Each son was handed a wooden katana to spar with, Shinosuke preferring a direct and aggressive approach to his fighting style while his younger brother fought with more guile. The younger brother needed to be quick witted in order to get an advantage on his seemingly brash counterpart.
As time would have it, Shinosuke’s brother would improve considerably with his style of sparring while Shinosuke himself realized he quite literally didn’t improve much at all. He was stronger and would hold the advantage early but his brother almost always won out in the end. His brother’s ability to evolve as the fight changes and think off the fly created possibilities for him that the other couldn’t yet attain. Frustrated with his inability to improve and embarrassment from being previously the victor turned vanquished, the boy turned to his father pleading for some sort of technique or advice to turn the tides. Shinosuke even turned to fighting dirty against his brother for some type of edge but nothing gave. His father, knowing the route his son had approached, barred Shinosuke from further training and forced him into free labor in service of his neighbors in an attempt to teach him another lesson. The boy, now nearing the age where manhood was in sight, kept at his varying antics no longer able to spend most the day with his brother. The constant chores and work he had to carry out left him bored and anxious to continue his training with his brother. The boy asked his father again after numerous times to rejoin his brother but nothing would sway the man yet. After toiling away at other people’s work for so long, Shinosuke decided it was time for him to move on and find a way to increase his skill with the sword on his own. Shinosuke snuck into his father’s dojo and confiscated two katanas for the venture ahead. On his way out he wrote a letter explaining he would be traveling alone in search of a way to improve and not only surpass his brother, but eventually become Untouched under the Sun.

Type: Head / Neck / Torso / Arms & Hands / Legs & Feet
Cost: 100,000 Ryo per set // 20,000 Ryo per part. Free during Creation
Special: Because of the heavy nature of the armor, all Taijutsu performed in conjunction with the samurai's body armor (punch, kick, etc.) will carry bonus damage based on the armor's base rank. This armor cannot be purchased by non-Samurai unless in black market. Likewise, it can only be purchased in the Land of Iron, and can be repaired only by using parts of another set of Samurai Power Armor.
Description: A full body suit of armor created strictly for samurai based off traditional designs mixed in with modern technology. Akin to traditional ancient samurai armor, the Kanji for "Bushido" is carved in the chest plate and back, and the whole body is protected with many strong layers of plated steel. The secret use of this armor is that, although heavy, it feeds off of the Samurai's special seal, which gushes raw chakra into the armor in order to make the otherwise impossible to move heavy armor as smooth and gentle as a cloth. There's only one place an armor like this can be made - Iron.
Strong Fist is a Taijutsu style, the purpose of which is to cause extreme forms of external damage to a target, alongside breaking as many bones as possible. It is the exact opposite of the Gentle Fist, which is used exclusively by the Hyuuga clan. This style of fighting involves smashing your opponent and is generally used only by extremely physically powerful and dominating shinobi.
Note: For a Low increment of chakra, Goken practitioners can marginally raise the destructive force of any standard attack (non-jutsu) they perform; each strike will have a 10% chance to break the target’s bones. This cannot stack with the Goken Tier 3 Mastery, Tekken.
Konoha Senpuu (Leaf Whirlwind) Rank: D Range: Close (0m ~ 5m) Type: Offensive Handseals: - Stamina Consumption: Low
A taijutsu where one launches a succession of high kicks and low kicks. Firstly, the opponent's evasion margin is restrained upon seeing the high kick, thus augmenting the chances for the low kick to hit the mark. So originally the high kick is little more than a feint.
Raiken (Thunder Fist) Rank: C Range: Close (0m ~ 5m) Type: Offensive Handseals: - Stamina Consumption: Mid
Yet another wild and unpredictable Goken technique, the user proceeds to rush at their opponent with all their might, jump and then spin to gain momentum, so that they may lay a powerful strike onto their target.
Note: If struck in the head, the victim will be severely dazed for a total of two posts (25% reduced vision, 25% reduced hearing, 50% reduced balanced). If struck in the stomach the victim will vomit.
Dainamikku Entori (Dynamic Entry) Rank: D Range: Close (0m ~ 5m) Type: Offensive Handseals: - Stamina Consumption: Low
This technique is essentially nothing more than the user performing a jumping kick into their opponent’s face. By focusing chakra into their feet, the user can quickly and effectively spring toward an unsuspecting victim and land their assault. This is best used with a distraction, such as a thrown kunai, so that the user can take advantage of the target’s blind spot.
Dainamikku Akushyon (Dynamic Action) Rank: D Range: Close (0m ~ 5m) Type: Offensive Handseals: - Stamina Consumption: Low
Another relatively basic technique, the user will first flip towards their opponent (for flare; this is not necessary) and then proceeds to assault them with a flurry of punches and kicks (for a maximum of five). While somewhat more advanced than its counterpart, Dynamic Entry, these blows are hardly threatening in the grand scheme of things.
Note: Like most techniques that involve multiple hits, presuming the target is hit by the first attack, the subsequent four will automatically connect.
Konoha Tsumuji Senpuu (Leaf Coiling Whirlwind) Rank: C Range: Close (0m ~ 5m) Type: Offensive Handseals: - Stamina Consumption: Mid (1 Low per shinobi)
A tandem jutsu, this involves two Goken style users performing the Leaf Whirlwind upon a single target. Due to the combined force of this technique, the chances of physical injury are drastically higher than the traditional Leaf Whirlwind when performed by a single shinobi.
Note: This technique has a 50% chance to break a victim’s bones where struck. This technique can only be performed by two people.
Konoha Reppuu (Leaf Gale) Rank: D Range: Close (0m ~ 5m) Type: Offensive Handseals: - Stamina Consumption: Low
This technique is a good example of how even simple taijutsu can become a pre-eminently destructive, lethal technique. The attack is a simple rear spinning low kick, but a strong enough user can send a large adult flying on their back as if they weighed nothing. The goal is to throw the enemy off balance, and deal damage to the lower half of their body.
{Spoiler} Battojutsu Rank: D Range: Close (0m ~ 5m) Type: Supplementary Handseals: -- Stamina Consumption: Low [activate] - [maintain] This technique concentrates a kenjutsu practitioners focus. It allows them to steel their nerves by transferring a little bit of chakra all around there bodies. This chakra relaxes the user allowing for sudden or intricate movements to be done with little margin for error.
Dorokendageki (Draw and Strike) Rank: D Range: Close (0m ~ 5m) Type: Offensive Handseals: -- Stamina Consumption: Low The battojutsu practitioner subjugates their dominant hand with chakra. This allows the practitioner to commence their attack from any position, this particular technique allows the practitioner to first draw with increased speed, then thrust or slashe with the blade so fast that the effects of the hit are after the user sheathes.
Nibaigiri (Double Cut) Rank: C Range: Close (0m ~ 5m) Type: Offensive Handseals: -- Stamina Consumption: Mid The battojutsu practitioner subjugates their dominant hand with chakra. This allows the practitioner to commence their attack from any position, this particular technique allows the practitioner to cut a fluid swath before using the same momentum to deliver a final vertical slash.
Chakura no Kishu (Chakra Form Manipulation) Rank: C Range: Close (0m ~ 5m) Type: Supplementary Handseals: - Chakra Consumption: Mid to cast, Low to sustain
The most innate and basic of all Samurai abilities, this technique acts as the base to all of the armored warriors chakra related abilities. Although samurai don't use handseals and jutsu, they nonetheless have learned to bypass seals as a medium for their chakra, using instead in its raw form and manipulating it to their bidding, usually in the form of an offensive weapon. As the Samurai grows more experienced with this technique, their creations become grander and grander.
Note: This is the basis for all Naideshou Gonyuu techniques. The samurai must learn this in order to possess any of the other sub-techniques. The chakra used to coat their weapon via this knowledge can serve as a buffer between the sword and outside techniques which would require contact to activate (a samurai could slap a small fireball away without detonating it via their sword).
Sorekiri (Weapon Deployment) Rank: C Range: Close (0m ~ 5m), Mid (5m ~ 10m) Type: Offensive Handseals: - Chakra Consumption: Low
Now that the samurai has gotten familiar with creating bladed chakra weaponry with and without the assistance of a base, they are able to propel their creations into a straight, linear form. Fast moving and dangerous, the chakra cutters rely their size, shape, strength and power entirely on how well the Samurai has honed and trained their chakra manipulations skills. Only one projectile may be fired per swing.
Bourei (Weapon Creation) Rank: C Range: Close (0m ~ 5m), Mid (5m ~ 10m) Type: Supplementary Handseals: - Chakra Consumption: Mid
This variation to the Chakra Form Manipulation grants the samurai the ability of creating a chakra weapon out of thin air, whenever combat has rendered them without their normal armament. Taking the shape of weapon whatever the samurai desires, the user's pure chakra maintains the weapon as long as there is enough chakra to fuel it.
Note: The maximum size of the weapon(s) the samurai may create is 3 meters, which can extend to a length of 8 meters.[/apoiler]
