When the comforts of civilization begin to dull our senses, we must never forget that in the beginning, there was war. And war. And more war. Long before there were empires, there were humans consumed with greed and the hunger for power. Resources, territories, information—these were the forms of sustenance upon which we preyed. Today, we call such habits vices. Oh, how arrogant we have become! Are we not still impelled by those primordial emotions? Is the advent of war so far-fetched? But alas, for you to truly understand, we must dive deeper into this land’s half-forgotten past.
There was a time when might was the only law that humankind knew. Fearsome clans roamed throughout the land, seeking amenable grounds within which they could take root and opposing forces against whom they could test their mettle. Given the irregularity of nature’s bounty, certain regions appealed more than others, and dominion over such coveted territories became the spark that ignited the earliest inter-clan wars. These fierce, internecine affairs tended to conclude only when one side had decimated their competition into oblivion, and many clans of story were rendered extinct during this period.
The victors of war, having claimed their territories, often made truces with surrounding locals, offering protection in exchange for access to the yields of agriculture. Over time, certain communities emerged as more dominant than others, either due to numbers or sheer talent, and their rapid expansion would force smaller, neighboring communities to either collapse into their fold or be devastated. When the dust settled, humankind found itself divided into the five major territories that we are familiar with today. And was the bloodshed over? With our lands obtained and our bellies filled, were we finally content?

[attr="class","itsover"] Xio could feel the clone’s body melting away under the heat of his lava, ‘fireproof.’ With a few more moments passing, the clone let out his final cry as his essence was completely dissolved.
“Now.”
As the muddy clone dissipated the crowd continued to go crazy as the fight raged on, but it seemed the announcer was getting distracted!
“OH no looks like the other one has entered the crowd watch your back! Don’t let them get to the announcer’s table!”
Screaming over the loudspeakers his minions did their best to keep Hyouka away from the announcer area but it was to no help. Skillfully the Jounnin made her way across the crowd taking out each person that approached with grace, with each kill the space around her grew as the crowd became weary.
“Don’t let her any closer!”
The announcer shouted at the top of his lungs as he could visibly see Hyouka ripping across the room, she made her way towards a small box that was covered in a thick plastic glass.
“Get her!”
All the rest of the goonies that surrounded the plastic box would converge in Hoyuka attempting to slow her down. Meanwhile, Xio had finally regained his footing standing to his full height in a pool of his own Lava. ‘Looks like the joke didn’t work.’ Laughing slightly the boy would take off towards the announcer’s area following in Hyouka’s direction. While closing the distance Xio would dismiss his clone, there was no need for him at this point he had his lava. With the mental link provided by the tailed beast, he would command the pool of lava to follow behind causing a trail of lava to be used by Xio. Once he was close enough to see the duo in the box, he would simply point at it causing the lava to rush forward from the ground.
“Stay clear of the box Hyouka-San!”
As the boy spoke the lava crashed into the plastic instantly causing a loud sizzling sound followed by smoke, provided the pair didn’t have a quick escape route. The box was completely covered before the lava began to constrict, the pair could be heard screaming throughout the whole arena over the mic. Since the sealing Xio has been much more in tune with the idea of killing, it seems like the last few times he’s been out on a mission he’s delivered some lethal blows.
“Sorry bout that!”
The genin would scream from the arena floor as he pulled the lava back down from the box revealing two bodies covered in burnt plastic. ‘another one bites the rock.’
Once they figured out she wasn't the guard, she dropped her transformation and unsheathed her sword again. She returned back to the days she was actually remembered as the boogeyman of bandits in the Country of Lightning. As long as people kept coming, her sword would keep waving and stabbing. Her stride did not stop as she moved towards the announcer's box.
"Stay clear of the box, Hyouka-san!"
Suddenly, she heard Xio's shout. Waving her sword in the air, the accumulated blood formed a wave which was flung at eye level at the people in front. After that, she sheathed her sword and jumped backwards, clear from the oncoming lava. She joined her hands and weaved a few handseals.
The repungent smell of burnt plastic wafted into Hyouka's nose, making her mouth twitch in annoyance as she released her technique after the lava withdrew. Thrusting both palms out, a vortex was birthed between them which widened and advanced forward swiftly, blowing away everything in a straight line between Hyouka and the announcer's stand. Even the glass could not stand the impact, shattering from the impact.
“If you're done, come make the arrest before I do.”
She shouted back before dashing through the opening she just made. The announcer, shocked by the glass breaking, had long fallen backward onto his hands. Hyouka threw a handful of shuriken and went straight for the wizard, kicking him fiercely towards the wall. She wasn't physically strong enough to produce a thud or a big impact, but knocking him off balance was well within her capabilities.

[div style="background-color:#fff;border:#ccc 1px solid;width:400;padding:10px;text-align:justify;font-size:10px;color:#2f2f2f;"][attr="class","itsover"] “If you're done, come make the arrest before I do.”
‘Well, that was one way to deal with that.’ The genin stilled himself while his lava retracted from the box back to his person as Hyouka skillfully saved the duo from being melted alive by blowing away the molted plastic after she murderized a few more thugs with ease. Despite lacking experience to compare this to, he could sense that she was a few steps ahead of him combat-wise. ‘She only used one jutsu, and here I am blitzing them with more than I needed to for what?’ The lava wouldn’t take long to retract back to its origin, it would pool up under the genin before he would allow the fiery chakra to slowly be discharged. At the heel end of the show, the crowd started to panic as everyone rushed for the doors, it was clear that this wasn’t going to end well for anyone caught at the end of this altercation.
“Here I come.”
Xio would step across the pool of lava supported by a bit of chakra allowing him not to sink into the molten earth, ‘this is cool. I really got some work to do.’ As he exited the rim of his pool he would apply a little bit of chakra to his feet before executing a big jump, he would float through the air for a second before landing just inside the scorched box a few feet away from the clone.
“What the hell are you?”
the magician turned slowly and looked to the genin with the fear of god in him, he was under the impression that his creation had copied everything! But like the rest of the world little is known of the tailed beast, or the idea of someone having it sealed inside of them. With a fully matured Sharingan the boy looked into the man's eye giving him a brief smile before putting him to sleep, his body fell limp to the ground while the announcer continued to stare at Hyouka.
“She’s lit right, luckily she saved you.”
After he spoke he would provide a heavy chop to one of the mans pressure points causing him to lose consciousness.
“Good job, I thought I was gonna kill them.. At least we don’t have to come up with any excuses for this mission.”
As Xio spoke he would bend down to pick up the two men one with each arm before standing back to his full height and looking to Hyouka. The arena had emptied out by the time he finished with the arrest.
“This was smooth, let's get back to the village and get them into interrogation, I don’t think this is the end of this ring of shit like you said before.”
☆ Name: Master of Illusions - Part I Rank: B Repeatable: Yes Description: Reports of some sort of wizard have been coming in from civilians, about a man whom appears to be performing some form of magic, deep in the deserts of the Land Of Lightning. Obviously this may just be some shinobi using techniques. However our ANBU have reported the man to be using some forbidden techniques that allows him to make clay replicas of people. When a shinobi was sent to investigate, he disappeared and cannot be found. A letter was then later sent to the communication tower. It requested shinobi, be it one or many, to meet at the waterfall. When a shinobi was sent, he returned claiming that there was a replica of himself there and that he had to defeat himself to leave alive. Once the clay clone was defeated it left behind a small piece of paper, with a number on it. Objective: Go face the replica and return with the clue to the man's existence.
The fear in their eyes were sights Hyouka was very used to. After all, they did just get through killing a good lot of them. Those who escaped would find themselves walking into a set-up by the forces stationed outside.
As soon as Xio grabbed the two bodies, Hyouka backed up a little, pulled out a device and...

Secured a picture of Xio carrying the two criminals. Whether he knew about himself appearing in the newspaper was entirely up to future Xio's awareness.
Once that was done, she joined him in leaving the scene.
“If it were so easy, they wouldn't have been able to evade us until now...”
