When the comforts of civilization begin to dull our senses, we must never forget that in the beginning, there was war. And war. And more war. Long before there were empires, there were humans consumed with greed and the hunger for power. Resources, territories, information—these were the forms of sustenance upon which we preyed. Today, we call such habits vices. Oh, how arrogant we have become! Are we not still impelled by those primordial emotions? Is the advent of war so far-fetched? But alas, for you to truly understand, we must dive deeper into this land’s half-forgotten past.
There was a time when might was the only law that humankind knew. Fearsome clans roamed throughout the land, seeking amenable grounds within which they could take root and opposing forces against whom they could test their mettle. Given the irregularity of nature’s bounty, certain regions appealed more than others, and dominion over such coveted territories became the spark that ignited the earliest inter-clan wars. These fierce, internecine affairs tended to conclude only when one side had decimated their competition into oblivion, and many clans of story were rendered extinct during this period.
The victors of war, having claimed their territories, often made truces with surrounding locals, offering protection in exchange for access to the yields of agriculture. Over time, certain communities emerged as more dominant than others, either due to numbers or sheer talent, and their rapid expansion would force smaller, neighboring communities to either collapse into their fold or be devastated. When the dust settled, humankind found itself divided into the five major territories that we are familiar with today. And was the bloodshed over? With our lands obtained and our bellies filled, were we finally content?

Walking along the street level's of kirigakure, sifting through the crowds of passerby's with ease, Chae held his mission documents with his right hand as his eyes scanned over the details within it. Making his way towards the village gates, he scoffed.
"These villagers never really know what they're talking about do they? A couple flashy displays of ninjutsu is all thats needed."
Locked into his resolve for the mission, Chae folded the documents and slid them within his satchel as he finally approached the gates. Like clockwork, the guards recognized Chae as an established Chuunin within the village walls and Military force.
A quick nod had been caste towards the guards as the gates opened and Chae progressed through and headed towards the outer perimeter where village-folk resided. Thoughts, one after another cycled through the forefronts of his mind, truly indecisive on how to provide the greatest wow factor.
Arriving to the village homes that existed on the outsides of Kirigakure's village walls, Chae watched as they lived their lives peacefully as farmhands, blacksmiths, and village healers, a life he once lived before he acquired his fascination with the Kikkawa clan and the Shinobi world.
Although he often times found himself loathing that lifestyle, he knew there was a certain level of peace and ignorance of bliss that came with it that Shinobi simply were not afforded by design. Sighing, Chae explored the immediate area until he managed to track down and find the village chief which hadn't taken an overly long time.
Once the village chief and Chae exchanged words and the intentions of his visit became abundantly clear, the Chief signaled and gathered the available common-folk to the center most area of that particular village. Representing the lives and voices of that village, the Chief had been well aware of their concerns regarding Kirigakure's military force and was the originator of the request to have a glimpse of its power displayed.
Well before the crowd could lose itself in its own curiosity and panic, the Chief eased their minds and asked nothing more of them within that moment besides their undivided attention. Mouths closed and all eyes diverted to Chae's position, he motioned his way to speak....
"There has been a great abundance of peace, at least within the walls of Kirigakure as of late, however, we have undoubtedly received the concerns of the village-folk about the power of our forces and whether or not we're capable of protecting you when the time comes."
After having achieved the rank of Chuunin within Kirigakure at the age of fifteen, its all that Chae's life revolved around, rightfully so. Despite being trusted with the responsibility that the rank itself entailed, he knew what he signed up for the moment he made the decision to occupy said rank among.
Nevertheless, new missions generally had always been accompanied with a new day, and on that day, in particular, Chae had spoken with the village folk not too far outside of Kirigakure where words of encouragement aimed to quell their concerns.
"Because of your concerns I will show you a display of ninjutsu, the same ninjutsu that will be used to keep you all sleeping soundly at night."
Without warn, Chae's hands stormed through an assembly line of handseals and once concluded, his chakra swelled and eventually manifested in physical form. Crackles of electricity snapped through the air as a spherical orb of Raiton chakra surrounded Chae entirely, leaving him as its fixed, center point.
Although it only registered as a fraction of Chae's power to himself, to the village-folk perspective, it was a display of power they found no difficulty in marveling in.
"As a God Of Lightning, If no one else here does, I'll will protect this village and country"
