When the comforts of civilization begin to dull our senses, we must never forget that in the beginning, there was war. And war. And more war. Long before there were empires, there were humans consumed with greed and the hunger for power. Resources, territories, information—these were the forms of sustenance upon which we preyed. Today, we call such habits vices. Oh, how arrogant we have become! Are we not still impelled by those primordial emotions? Is the advent of war so far-fetched? But alas, for you to truly understand, we must dive deeper into this land’s half-forgotten past.
There was a time when might was the only law that humankind knew. Fearsome clans roamed throughout the land, seeking amenable grounds within which they could take root and opposing forces against whom they could test their mettle. Given the irregularity of nature’s bounty, certain regions appealed more than others, and dominion over such coveted territories became the spark that ignited the earliest inter-clan wars. These fierce, internecine affairs tended to conclude only when one side had decimated their competition into oblivion, and many clans of story were rendered extinct during this period.
The victors of war, having claimed their territories, often made truces with surrounding locals, offering protection in exchange for access to the yields of agriculture. Over time, certain communities emerged as more dominant than others, either due to numbers or sheer talent, and their rapid expansion would force smaller, neighboring communities to either collapse into their fold or be devastated. When the dust settled, humankind found itself divided into the five major territories that we are familiar with today. And was the bloodshed over? With our lands obtained and our bellies filled, were we finally content?

Loyalty meant everything to Chae, enough so that it was a quality instilled within him to such a magnitude that others might've often times considered it to be a fault. Loyal to the man that saved his life, Kikkawa Ue, and the Mizukage as well as everything that existed beneath his rule, Chae remained steadfast in his resolve to make Kirigakure the utopia he felt it deserved.
Carried by his aforementioned loyalty, in a soft tuft of smoke, Chae appeared before the entrance of the Mizukage's office as both eyes moved between the two guards before him, observing their actions as a means to await further orders.
As one of the recent shinobi to be awarded rank of Chuunin, Chae often times displayed his valiant efforts through various missions and tasked delegated to him through the mizukage's Council.
"Chuunin, Chae Yoon Kushinada, I'm here via request for the Mizukage as audience."
Ever still and militant, only the heads of the guards slightly turned to meet Chae's position as they confirmed not only his identity but his presence as well. Once cleared, like magic, the doors to the Mizukage's office opened and without delay, the Chuunin stepped forth. Behind him, as expected, the doors closed and Chae continued towards the center most point of the office before his steps came to an end.
He kneeled...
"Mizukage-sama, I'm grateful for you accepting my request for your personal audience first and foremost."
‘This village.’ A truly massive man pondered his thoughts alone, sitting in a dimly lit room with nothing more than an evenly large desk and chair for himself he waited. Unlike most of his colleagues, he never indulged in any administrative work, so the office was clean aside from a few trophy cases and locked trunks. Over the past few months, he’d noticed an influx of activity among his shinobi which was interesting because the academy was closed at this point.
“This one has a hint of lavender in it I think.”
Mochizuki wasn’t thrilled by what they were doing with the academy, so he felt there was no need to pay for such wasteful things. Ideally, he believed his way of determining who was worth anything was best and would be enforced accordingly. This created a scarcity of shinobi, but it also ensured that anyone who attained even the rank of genin would properly represent the village.
“Mizukage-Sama, Chae Yoon Kushinada has requested. Will you oblige?”
“Send him in.”
"Chuunin, Chae Yoon Kushinada, I'm here via request for the Mizukage as an audience."
Shortly after his door was buzzed, Chae strolled, carrying his usual façade fitting for a shinobi of the mist. Mochizuki would budge from his relaxed position as he approached, instead, he would take another drag of his large cigar.
"Mizukage-sama, I'm grateful for you accepting my request for your personal audience first and foremost."
As the young man took a knee Mochizuki would continue to smoke for a second while he assessed the young man for a moment. ‘Ahh. Chae,’ he thought for a moment before he spoke.
“I didn’t think you would make it out of that last tournament for chunnin, you showed a side of you I like to encourage in people by any means.”
His voice was very low-pitched, but it was still as loud as if he was speaking on a megaphone or some sort.
“You know not everybody can take a life, some say it’s hard to sleep at night, but I say, good riddance to the weak. What do you think about that Chae?”
Immediately the smell of smoke & fermented tobacco filled the room, and soon infiltrated Chae's sense of smell as the Mizukage pulled away at his cigar. Despite being acknowledged and addressed Chae remained fastened to his knelt position; his head and eyes however, raised to properly look over the Mizukage's frame as he spoke.
Processing one word after another, Chae's memories rushed and flooded in; transporting him back to the events of the exam tournament that still remained freshly with the forefronts of his mind.
"It had to be done, I couldn't fail myself and my village. The competition was fierce for that time. With no bloodline or special Ninjutsu, I was determined to prove that Kirigakure's God Of Lightning will not fail."
momentarily he paused, gathered his thoughts, and properly continued.
"I think I did what needed to be done. You and the village council need to be secure in knowing that your forces are capable. That I'm capable."
In that moment his gaze sharpened, not towards the Mizukage himself, but towards Chae's internalized need to prove that even the most ordinary and vanilla shinobi could exist as a threat to those blessed with gifts from the gods of shinobi. Presuming he'd have been allowed, he continued onward, knowing that the Mizukage had never been keen to excessive small talk.
"It is because of my lack of variety that I come to you with a special request. As the God of lightning, as your weapon and vassal I would be honored to bear arms as a wielder of your prized relics. One that Suits my extreme nature in Lightning."
"It is because of my lack of variety that I come to you with a special request. As the God of lightning, as your weapon and vassal I would be honored to bear arms as a wielder of your prized relics. One that Suits my extreme nature in Lightning."
Listening to the barely seasoned shinobi speak the Mizukage would allow a bit of a grin to appear on his face, he was fresh off the press as a genin but bold as Mochizuki himself. Igniting the large cigars once more causing the cherry to burn bright red as inhaled, the large man would relax himself in his chair as he thought about Chae’s request.
“You’re correct, you weren’t born with any gifts. Yet you survive here in the mist as a shinobi, you managed to kill off a couple of special people as you called them even with your disability.”
Mochizuki would take another drag of his cigar while he thought about the weapon Chae was addressing, ‘Rajin no ken. I’ve got a couple of bodies on that bad boy, that could prove dangerous in the right hands, especially his hands.’ These thoughts were purely internal while the room was graced with another moment of silence, it wasn’t every day that he was asked for a weapon capable of mass destruction.
“While your request is bold, despite what I’ve seen your disability makes me question if this would truly fix the problem you’re having. Without a lot of words, I will say it could probably make the problem worse if you begin to rely too much on the power of that weapon.”
Continuing to puff his cigar for a moment he would stare into chae’s eyes as he gathered his next statement.
“But it’s bold, I like it.”
The man would reach over his shoulder grabbing at one of the many blades positioned on his back pulling Rajin no Ken from its holster. In his hands, the blade seemed quite small in comparison but nonetheless, it was still the mythical blade. Mochizuki would place the blade flat on his desk as he continued to look over Chae person for a minute. He played back the footage in his memory of the shinobi ripping apart his opponents with strategic timing, and positioning as if he was using the fabled Sharingan. ‘He could be a demon. Maybe actually useful to me.’ He thought as he would take another drag of his cigar.
“But of course this will come with price I won’t explain, you can either accept it or walk away from the office today knowing that you tried to change the inevitable realization that you’d eventually be outclassed by special people.”
In the modern shinobi word, with the way clans have begun a cycled generation of crossbreeding clans and bloodlines, Special ninjutsu and abilities inherited through ones own bloodline had become common place, leaving more cases such as Chae as new found rarities.
While the weight of not only holding his own against more advanced ninjutsu-but defeating it altogether with Raiton may not have seem significant to some; to Chae it meant everything. Through the lens of life in which he looked out through, being capable of proving himself not only to his peers but the Mizukage himself, a person born of a distinct bloodline.
A Disability? No.
Chae saw Raiton as his savior, it was through that electrifying passion that he found solace & Strength; both of which when used in tandem, created an evolutionary usage of a basic elemental ninjutsu field.
On that hill, he planned to make his stand.
On that hill, he would die.
On that hill, the world would Know True Lightning.
"For this Country, This village, and the man who rules it, there is no price I wouldn't be willing to pay. Especially if it means I can bring our enemies to heel with a mere "Disability".
His eyes silently screamed with power as streaks of lighting stretched across his iris', meeting gaze with the Mizukage concurrent with his clear and concise words. Chae bot respected and to a degree, feared the Mizukage, however, the fear of failing himself, his country, and his duty as a Kirigakure shinobi sent chilling quakes throughout his body; A fear he refused to allow into the hands of reality.
The man's face broke into a solace smile as Chae fearlessly accepted his offer. It wasn't a question, but rather a predetermined fate. With unwavering determination, he planned to burden the self-proclaimed god of lightning with a weight greater than any mere mortal could bear. Mochizuki understood that this was merely a formality to appease his peers, as he had already set a precedent of deviating from the convention. However, he intended to at least appear to follow the code.
Without uttering a word, the atmosphere around Mochizuki shifted entirely. From the shadows emerged another version of the Mizukage, standing a towering seven feet tall and overshadowing his subordinate. Silently, the clone conjured a colossal water prison that engulfed the entire room, leaving Chae trapped, immobile, and gasping for air.
As Mochizuki observed the unfolding events, a chuckle escaped his lips, knowing that Chae, being a Mist Shinobi, would not struggle with a mere water prison technique. But this sphere was different—it enclosed the entire room, leaving only the Mizukage himself outside its bounds.
"Now you shall face your own burdens. To hell with the world," Mochizuki declared, extending his hand to make contact with the water sphere before infusing it with his chakra.
"Chakra Kyuuin no Jutsu," he murmured.
In that instant, Chae could feel his chakra being drained from his body. With each passing moment, it became increasingly difficult to breathe without the assistance of his chakra. Mochizuki had no intention of explaining the process any further; he wanted Chae to remember nothing but the excruciating pain inflicted upon him. Once he felt the majority of Chae's chakra had been depleted, Mochizuki formed a few hand seals with his free hand.
"Suikoudan no Jutsu."
The chakra coating on Mochizuki's hand dissipated, replaced by a massive shark that occupied more than half of the water sphere. Paralyzed, Chae could do nothing but accept his impending fate. The shark swiftly lunged forward, devouring him whole. As it did, the chakra sphere dissipated, flooding the room with excess water pouring out of windows and specially designed drainage spots in the Mizukage's office. Alone, the colossal shark sat with Chae's lifeless body, causing him to experience the sensation of drowning and impending death.
"He should be desperately clinging to his life by now," Mochizuki mused.
With the act completed, the imposing figure emerged from behind his desk and approached the enormous shark. As he reached its side, he performed a series of hand seals, conjuring a jar beside him.
"In this cursed world we inhabit, this boy could amount to something. But his will alone won't be enough to propel him to where he wishes to be," Mochizuki pondered aloud, glancing at the labeled jar beside him, marked with the name 'Sanbi.'
"At least I can rid my vault of this burden. If you can hear me in there, remember that if you fail my shinobi, I will personally end your existence."
Having made his statement, Mochizuki swiftly performed a complex set of hand seals. Despite not being the most skilled practitioner of ninjutsu, he had somehow managed to learn one of the most intricate seals known to exist. Both of his hands glowed with a brilliant blue light at the completion of the seal. With his left hand, he reached out and touched the jar, causing a surge of violent chakra to engulf one side of his body.
"Aww," Mochizuki chuckled as he felt the raw chakra attempting to overwhelm him, yet ultimately falling short. With his other hand, he touched the shark encasing Chae, causing it to be covered in the Kanzen'na onmyō shīru.
"Damn, how I despise ninjutsu."
As the seal completely enveloped the shark, the transfer of chakra commenced. The violent chakra surged from Mochizuki's body, seeking the next suitable source, which happened to be Chae. In what appeared to be a comatose state, Chae became the vessel for the clinging, malevolent chakra. He was thrown into a whirlwind of emotions, reliving the traumas of his own life, before finally finding solace, lying on his back in a puddle of water.
Kanzen'na onmyō shīru (Perfect Yin & Yang Seal) Rank: S Range: Self Type: Supplementary Handseals: 50 Chakra Consumption: x5 Massive Kanzen'na onmyō shīru was developed by what many people consider the sage of the six paths to contain the powerful chakra of a tailed beast within a human vessel. In order to apply this seal to a vessel you will need 3 unique Chakra signatures and an enormous amount of chakra.
The Sealer – The sealer must have 5 or more massive’s chakra available. The Sealing Vessel – must have less than x2 High Chakra (If they have too much chakra the sealing will not work. The Biju – Biju chakra must be contained by any median and dispersed to the seal by sealer
Kanzen'na onmyō shīru can be placed anywhere on a vessel's body, once the proper seals are employed the sealer will enveloped in the biju chakra. The sealer will become a median as the Biju chakra flows through their body into the vessel, none of the chakra passed will remain with the sealer unless they want it to (The Sealer can take the Yin or Yang Chakra from the beast in this process) vessel and the Biju. Once the chakra of the Biju is completely passed to the vessel, the sealer will place both hands on the spot the seal and apply 5 massive’s amounts of charka to lock the biju inside the vessel.
Once the process is complete the vessel will be KO’d for the remainder of the thread?!
This seal doesn't place any physical burden on the user, it allows for the perfect synchronization of the bijuu and its host. Cloak form may vary *. Host may take on some characteristics of sealed beast.
Note: Cannot be brought (Only Learned Icly) This seal cannot be broken by anyone other than the person who set it or death. AND it can be placed on a item
As if on cue, the atmosphere of the room immediately shifted once Chae accepted the Mizukage's proposition. The room swelled with chakra as a smile formed across Mochizuki's face; a gesture that foreshadowed the sudden appearance of another Mizukage, a being of which Chae assumed to have been some sort of clone.
An eyebrow slightly furrowed as curiosity trickled into the forefronts of Chae's mind; at least until an abrupt explosion of Suiton Chakra spilled out in the form of a water prison that engulfed the entirety of the Mochizuki's office. Naturally, out of respect, his guard had been down and defenses laid bare before the Mizukage, leaving the jutsu and its activation as genuine surprise.
Relinquished from all applicable laws of gravity, Chae slowly floated a handful of inches from the ground, suspended in the centermost point of the room's now water prison. In those brief moments Chae remained calm, however, as those same moments came to pass, his instinctive desire for oxygen intensified.
Wincing in discomfort, it became harder and harder to breathe, even as Chae heard the muffled incantation of a jutsu through the water's pressure.
"My chakra, what the hell is he doing, what Price is this."
As both life and chakra fled from his being, then came the seething teeth of Mochizuki's shark that devoured the Chuunin whole.
Darkness.
And then a burst of blinding light.
Memories of Chae's life flickered in his conscious, memories buried so deep he nearly had forgotten then. Within those memories he remembered being raised in extreme poverty within his entire family and in turn the memories of wanting a life beyond. In the midst of his reflection, a powerful storm of whirlwind like chakra swept over the area.
His body was lifted with ease and suspended in mid-air as he watched an incomprehensible figure of chakra start to form and give Shape.
"What the hell are you? what is going on?! Is this Genjutsu?! I need to Get out of here!!"
The figure of chakra hummed with power as it continued to flow inward like a raging storm, and once complete, it suddenly stopped. Chae's "body" plummeted into darkness thereafter, fading momentarily concurrent to his inner conscious, dormant until the time he'd awaken.
About an hour passed before the seal was securely set, with Chae submerged in water the entire time. Survival depended on the seal taking hold. As time went on, the seal covering the entire shark gradually shrank, focusing on the shark's head, indicating the completion of the process. With a sense of anticipation, Mochizuki declared, "Now let's see if he's alive." With a mere thought, the shark exploded, causing Chae's lifeless body to crash onto the floor as the water drained from the room.
"Ah, he's still breathing," the Mizukage exclaimed, observing Chae's body forcefully expelling water, even though he remained unconscious.
"It must have worked. That stubborn turtle refuses to die," Mochizuki mused. Approaching Chae's body and kneeling beside him, he noticed the seal had settled on the right side of his neck and continued to pulsate.
"From this point on, the God of Lightning is cursed as Poseidon of the Mist... but he won't even realize it," Mochizuki murmured. Rising from his kneeling position, he towered over the shinobi's vulnerable state, reminded of the day he first received the curse seal. "It would be dishonorable to touch him now. Instead, I'll send him to the hospital," he thought, making his way to his desk. Upon arrival, he pressed the microphone button.
"Send in the medics and get this boy off my floor. It seems he had some sort of mental episode. Ensure all his vitals are checked and report back to me."
Turning back around, Mochizuki leaned on his desk, his gaze fixed on Chae's motionless body. "He came here seeking a sword, but I burdened him with a lifetime curse. If he can survive these trials, he may be worthy of wielding Rajin no ken," he pondered, his love for the village evident.
After a brief period, a group of medical shinobi rushed into the room, converging around Chae's position.
"Mizukage-sama, what have you done?" one of the medics questioned.
"It's none of your fucking business. Just make sure he doesn't die. Understood?" Mochizuki responded, offering a smile to the shaken medic. Without further inquiries, he turned his attention back to Chae's well-being. Soon enough, they carefully transferred him to a proper medical bed and exited Mochizuki's office.
"People always ask more than they should," he grumbled to himself.
