Kaori had very nearly skipped the entire way to the village gates soon after she'd finished getting ready to go on this mission, having dressed in her usual darker attire since she was actually going on a mission this time around and not dressing up for a festival. All of her clothing was dark gray, which was somewhat surprising considering the flash of bright blonde in her hair along with the dark blue color for the other half of her hair. Her tank top was a dark color, with a kind of mesh that covers, but does not conceal, her midriff as well as her cleavage. Her half-length hoodie was a similar color, covering her arms and shoulders with its hood down for now. Her legs were covered in a form-fitting dark blue fabric that somewhat resembled pants, though she still wore nin-shoes on her feet, hers being nearly black in color. The only piercings she had in her ears now were matte silver ball bearing earrings in each lobe, having removed most of the others for being too flashy and visible. Her ninjato was strung across her lower back, ensuring quick and easy access for her right hand. Kaori was more proficient in ninjutsu, but the sword was a helpful back-up. She would have normally left the house without any make-up in order to be prepared for the mission, but knowing who she was going to be on this mission with, she'd decided there was no harm with prettying herself up at least a little with some eyeliner, a bit of dark blue eye shadow, and black lipstick covering her lips.
Regardless, Kaori did manage to restrain herself from doing any skipping; that might have seemed a bit too much, especially as she and her new friend were about to engage in some fairly serious work; they had to stop these home robberies, and it was imperative that they catch the actual ringleaders, or at least the middlemen of these crimes, and they had to catch them alive. They couldn't let any of them escape, or they might be able to piece together how they had gotten the information on who their next target was. Although Kaori tried to keep serious, she did think about Honoka quite a lot. With her life up until that point having been focused on training, tutoring, and studying, she'd had little chance to develop a crush on anyone, and now she was at least a little charmed by the lovely woman she'd only met during the festival, although, she reminded herself, it had actually also been their first date. She hoped Honoka also actually saw it that way.
She turns to look into the village just in time to see the woman in question coming towards her, and she smiles radiantly at Honoka, maybe feeling a bit nervous now that the woman was here. That wasn't really a sensation she'd been familiar with for years, and back then it had been in preparation for the hardest test she'd ever had to pass. She hadn't been much good with Genjutsu for that test, and she honestly still wasn't, but in this case, the nervousness felt a lot nicer than when she'd been nervous in that situation. This kind of nervousness was actually pressuring her to succeed, which she liked to do already.
"Ready as I'll ever be! We'll knock 'em dead... Or, well, we'll take them alive, actually. You know what I meant."
She gives Honoka a brave smile of her own, feeling ready to prepare the ambush. She couldn't wait to see Honoka in action, and she also couldn't wait to show off for the pink-haired woman, and as long as they can prove that they can avoid killing on this mission, they'll probably be having a lot more success in the future.
