When the comforts of civilization begin to dull our senses, we must never forget that in the beginning, there was war. And war. And more war. Long before there were empires, there were humans consumed with greed and the hunger for power. Resources, territories, information—these were the forms of sustenance upon which we preyed. Today, we call such habits vices. Oh, how arrogant we have become! Are we not still impelled by those primordial emotions? Is the advent of war so far-fetched? But alas, for you to truly understand, we must dive deeper into this land’s half-forgotten past.
There was a time when might was the only law that humankind knew. Fearsome clans roamed throughout the land, seeking amenable grounds within which they could take root and opposing forces against whom they could test their mettle. Given the irregularity of nature’s bounty, certain regions appealed more than others, and dominion over such coveted territories became the spark that ignited the earliest inter-clan wars. These fierce, internecine affairs tended to conclude only when one side had decimated their competition into oblivion, and many clans of story were rendered extinct during this period.
The victors of war, having claimed their territories, often made truces with surrounding locals, offering protection in exchange for access to the yields of agriculture. Over time, certain communities emerged as more dominant than others, either due to numbers or sheer talent, and their rapid expansion would force smaller, neighboring communities to either collapse into their fold or be devastated. When the dust settled, humankind found itself divided into the five major territories that we are familiar with today. And was the bloodshed over? With our lands obtained and our bellies filled, were we finally content?

It was a normal day. Yuurei had woken up, showered, had breakfast, gotten dressed, and escaped the confindes of Hi no Kuni to explore its vast surrounding forestry, in search of herbs. A daily occurance, his travels had familiarised himself with his surroundings, and yet something had seemed different today. His hands traced the low-hanging branches around him as he walked. It therefore had been a normal day, that is, until he felt his legs buckle beneath him and as if pulled by some otherwordly force and he was thrown deep in to the watery grasp of 'WHAT THE FUCK?!'. The feeling of being submerged came as quickly as it had arrived, and suddenly he found himself.. somewhere. Squinting his eyes, being a man familiar with plantlife and those local to Hi no Kuni, what he saw around him now was a far cry from the lush greenery of his home nation. How did he end up here? Punching his forearm, he was hoping it would wake him up from whatever surreal dream he'd been thrown in to, but alas - he remained, as stalwart and disoriented than ever.
Looking back behind him, he saw no trace of the path he had once walked upon. Once the feeling of confusion had passed, his feet found themselves rooted far more firmly in the earth below, but too soon came a bitter chill. Breathing out hot air - for he had only a moment ago seemingly been in far different environmental conditions - he was met with a cloud of white. He was far from home, that much was clear. Recognizing that the colder he'd stay standing still, the worse off he'd be, after scanning around him to take in this new space, he would start marching forwards, having noted a cave approx. 30 meters up ahead. Reaching to his side and putting on his herbalist's respirator which had already been loaded with two vials of Elixir of Agility he'd created, he released the contents of the first vial, and breathed in the sweet, minty smell of the concoction.
He wasn't sure what the glow inside the cave was, but it looked warm, and a heat source sounded pretty good about now.
Many days would the samurai spend walking through the various regions of Kaminari no Kuni trying to find work. This day would have been no different if not for the forked path that currently held his fate. Shinosuke was partial to taking the right road initially. Upon debating it for some time though, he would decide to take the western most path from which he stood. As he entered the path on the left, it was almost as if the vast oceans had rose to greet him and consume his very being. His innate reaction was to hold his breath as the pressure built around his entire body. The man forced himself to hold it for as long as he could; his lungs begging for the slightest bit of release from the pain as he got colder. When his body caved, he realized he could actually breathe.
Shinosuke gasped for air as he opened his eyes and surveyed the scene before him. That feeling of cold he felt earlier wasn’t from any water, it was literally because he had been transported to some type of frozen tundra. The cold gripped his immediate thoughts before he could even question how he got there. The only things he could see was a village that had been undisturbed by his abrupt arrival and to the right, a cave that emitted some semblance of warmth. Many of the individuals that bustled through the village streets would enter and exit the cave. Taking his first few strides in this new area, Shinosuke would beeline it for the cave.
With a disgruntled demeanor the samurai would whisper beneath his breath, “I should’ve just went to the right.”
On this fateful day, Xio found himself far from the comforts of his hometown, venturing into the frigid snowy mountains of Kaminari. Adorned in multiple layers, the white-haired boy prepared himself for the harsh conditions. He donned two shirts, the first crafted from fleece-like material to provide warmth, while the second, a shorter-sleeved garment, proudly displayed his clan symbol emblazoned over his heart. The attire was carefully chosen, its purpose to shield him from the biting cold.
His all-black pants extended down to his ankles, snugly hugging his legs. Designed for the treacherous snowy terrain, they offered both flexibility and protection. Completing his ensemble, Xio wore closed-toe shoes, specially crafted to navigate through the icy landscape with ease.
Dangling from his neck was a chain, a sentimental piece crafted by his father, featuring a delicate dragon pendant. Its significance added an extra layer of meaning to his journey. Additionally, strapped securely to his back was his faithful gourd, a trusty companion accompanying him on his arduous trek.
“Shout out to fuma.”
As Xio bravely traversed the rugged mountainside, an inexplicable curiosity drew him closer to a peculiar portal. Exercising caution, he meticulously inspected the portal, ensuring its safety before summoning the courage to take a leap of faith. The moment he crossed its threshold, an overwhelming sense of bliss enveloped him. Emerging from what had appeared to be an abyss, he found himself standing outside a bustling small town, teeming with life. People hurriedly entered and exited buildings, which seemed to serve as both homes and businesses. Overwhelmed by the sudden change, Xio couldn't help but question his surroundings.
"Sheesh. What in the world was that thing? And where exactly am I?" the young genin pondered, his hands instinctively seeking refuge in his pockets.
As he stepped into the tundra, he felt a noticeable drop in temperature compared to the Kaminari mountaintops. However, the frigid chill posed no significant challenge to Xio, thanks to the gourd of lava securely strapped to his back. Emitting a gentle aura of heat, it gradually melted the surrounding snow, revealing the intricate details of the town. After taking a moment to absorb the scene, he noticed a tunnel up ahead, with several individuals traversing the snowy tundra, entering and exiting its mouth.
“Is that?”
A sense of familiarity stirred within Xio as he observed one of the figures entering the cave. The person's bulkiness triggered a faint recollection, and though they weren’t far away from one another, he couldn't quite put a name to the face. Curiosity sparked, causing him to tilt his head to the side, contemplating his next move. With a determined stride, he began his march toward the glowing cave, realizing that the portal behind him had seemingly closed, leaving him stranded in this foreign realm with limited allies.
His eyes continued to scan the area, searching for any distinctive figures, but the landscape seemed devoid of anyone particularly noteworthy. However, his attention was caught by a man adorned with a shinobi headband attached to his hip, who appeared to be journeying further ahead.
"Guess I'm stuck here," Xio muttered under his breath, a hint of resignation evident in his voice. "Might as well figure out what the hell is going on."
In an attempt to blend into the surroundings, the white-haired shinobi spoke softly, mindful of his presence. However, the heat radiating from his body betrayed his attempt at concealment, making it clear that he didn't quite belong in this realm. He would sigh lightly as he pushed forward into the direction of the cave.

[break][break]
Shinji was walking within the village when he started to feel his surrounding suddenly changing as he was now in a place he had never seen before. Their onyx eyes of his quickly scanned the area, the water pressure barely noticed it cause of the sand coating his flesh that looked like his flesh, a cover of his body like a shield trapped in his body heat. Shinji observed the mountains of frosty alp as up ahead he could see a snowy village with shops and the like. Shinji felt the show crunch beneath his feet as he walked, his shinobi headband wrapped around his neck as well. As Shinji entered the village he would notice up ahead a cave structure, which showed people entering and exiting on repeat. Which gave Shinji pause, it was the amount of people coming and going into the cave. He would notice to his left of him an inn. Shinji would keep walking as he come across a shop he would grab his headband off his neck, untie it, and slide it into his pocket. He wasn't sure where he was and what this town's viewpoints are on shinobi, let alone shinobi from his village so he wanted to remain undetectable in that regard until he was able to figure out what was going on.
[break][break] The cave thirty meters ahead seemed to have a strong glow even he could see, and he would notice various people including the shinobi he didn't know, and samurai making their way to the cave. The people coming in and out of the cave at the number of people that were doing it was strange. If they wanted to stay out of the cold, regardless of their bodies being adjusted to the elements, why would they come out of the cave? was a thought process dancing within the mind of the teenage Uchiha. As he stood in front of the shop, he was comforted by the trapped heat from his sand protecting his vital organs and extremities from potential frostbite. Shinji would observe the events of it for a couple more minutes before turning to the face of the door of this shop as he would push the door open and entered looking around, he would notice various cloth options laying around. Fur coats made of wolf fur. Hats of wolf fur, and face cloth lined with wolf fur. Shinji would observe all of this within a couple of seconds as the door closed behind him. He would notice a fellow shopkeeper at the desk ten meters in front of him as the door closed behind him. The other details of the room Shinji noticed in a quick glance and he didn't observe any intermediate danger. He would look at the items before coming closer to the shopkeeper.
[break][break] "Hello, it's a cold day out there today huh? So, I was stopping in to grab some of these fur-lined cloth items and had some questions that you could quite possibly answer for me maybe?"
[break][break] Shinji would smile at the shopkeeper, to show a side of him that would put the shopkeeper at bay and add some humor to ensure that the shopkeeper would not think he may be a threat to him so he'd do business with him. Despite the sand gourd strapped to his back, he showed no signs of alliance to any village or any clan which Shinji never wore items with the Uchiha crest anyhow. The onyx black ponytails that hung at the side of his face swayed as he reached down to grab one fur-lined scarf and hat, as Shinjis arms and legs were covered by his own clothing and sand so his body was warm, but he felt these items would also not only help the warmth but made his blend in with the townsfolk around him as much as possible. Shinji would be standing five meters from the shopkeeper holding the items as he awaited the answer back from the shopkeeper. Shinji had to find out as much information as possible and try to figure out why the hell he is here now, and not back in Sunagakure. And, this cave was some key information he needed to figure out.

Sand Gourd: 600 Gallons [break][break]
Key information: [break] Sunagakure headband is within his pocket out of sight for now. [break] The Uchiha has sand covering his flesh always as a condition of his bjiuu sealing, which provides him some defense as well trapping his body heat within and protecting his flesh from the elements.
